I stared out at the vast city stretching in front of me. New York was special. There was a different charm to it. But at the same time the vastness of the city also has the capabilty to make you feel weirdly empty and alone sometimes. While I really don't feel lonely often because I don't have any time for that in the first place, I wouldn't say that I wasn't alone.
I was alone despite being surrounded by two great friends, two because I wasn't much of a social person anyway to have a dozen and a loving family and despite that there still has always been this feeling of something missing in my life. I don't know what but just something. But then again, we all were alone in one way or other, isn't it? Life after all was nothing but a jourmey and
Sofia Sofia "To a new start and to the Mckinnons!"Kristen said raising her wine glass. "To a new start," I replied laughing and rclinked my glass with hers. It was a happy day. I can't believe I finally had a job. Maybe not the best of what I can do but better than Ericsons for sure. "God, at last, your three months break is over," Kris said echoing my thoughts and I nodded. "
It amazed me how a guy whowas probably not more than three or four years older than me could be this busy! There was someone calling him every five minutes and since all his work-related calls are forwarded to me, I am the one who needs to attend them. My ears have started to buzz and I think my water intake is going to increase as well because my mouth is going dry with constant talking. Seriously, how can he be this busy? All I get calls from were either Kristen or my mom or my cousin Natalie sometimes. Jesus, this was insulting and embarrassing!Calm down stupid! He owns a bloody company while you don't even own an apartment... Don't compare yourself with him!I sighed, my subconscious was right again. Who was I even comparing myself with?
Liam "Sofia...oh shit!" I gasped as her body went limp against mine. "Oh no!" Grabbing her firmly by the waist, I pulled her away from me and managed her into a sitting position with the help of the elevator wall. "Sofia," I bellowed, slapping her lightly on the cheeks. There was no answer from her though. Her eyes were shut tigh
Sofia:I watched the dark clouds seamlessly float over the tall skyscrapers. It was beautiful outside. A full moon night accompanied by the slightly cold breeze that reminded me of the arriving fall.Never in my life have I ever laid awake into the late hours of the night for a guy. But then Liam was not justaguy, was he? He istheguy. The Liam Mckinnon. Every time I close my eyes, I am drawn back to the memories of tonight, or was it yesterday? I glanced a
"Sofia," Liam's cold voice froze me in my place as I stared into his icy dark eyes. Damn...he looked like a completely different person altogether. "Mr. McKinnon, I er...I was coming to...I didn't know," I babbled stupidly. Oh, f**k this was so embarrassing. Liam caught me prying and even though it was completely unintentional, I don't think he was in the mood to understand that. "Who the hell is she?" Leila cried coming to stand beside him. She appraised me with a pointed look but at the moment all I could do was to stare blankly at Liam. There was something about his gaze that froze me in my place. Leila made a clicking sound with her tongue and that prompted me to turn my eyes to her. I s
Liam "I think this arrangement will be beneficial for both of us," Mr. Filch, my financial advisor said. "The output is less but the chances of profits are double and it will also pave the way to increase our exports in the UAE. What is your opinion, Liam?" "Whatever suits them best," I muttered wryly. "I trust you, Garry," Mr. Filch or Garry as I call him has been working with my dad for the past eighteen years and now he was with me. He's like family so whenever it comes to deciding on something of this sort there's no way I could doubt his suggestion and foresight. Dad trusts him implicitly and s
SofiaI sighed deeply as the warm water flowed over my body. Nothing could help you to relax better than a warm bath, a good fragrant body wash, or body oil and music. The last two days have been hell. I just couldn't get Liam's words out of my head and it was driving me crazy. I wanted to say the nastiest things to him. Like some sort of payback. You're going nuts Sayles!I nodded. Yes, I was going nuts. Because I was so pissed at him. I wanted to almost break his head with a baseball bat or something. That stu
Sofia"Hey!" Kris greeted, opening the door even before I could ring the bell. I stared at her flushed face and frowned."What is it?" I inquired closing the door behind me."How do you know there's something?" She demanded."Because you look very excited and you have a ridiculous grin plastered on your face," I answered, pouring myself a glass of water and throwing my purse on the couch."Really?" She frowned and I nodded my head.
