“Should I just leave?” The girl was conflicted. She almost strolled for a mile in the shadows. Her feet badly ached due to the sharp thorns that were buried within her sole.
She finally halted when the energy slowly withered away from her body. “Maybe it wasn’t a good idea to come here.” She muttered as her eyes searched the surroundings around her.
Not a single wolf or a person was in sight.
“Am I lost?” She questioned herself. A wave of dread flashed inside her as she slid down against a huge tree, settling herself on the ground.
Ilaria had heard from the people -- when a wolf passes another pack border, they would instantly get killed or worse get tortured for a lifetime. But she never took those things seriously. She usually thought that people told such information just to scare her away.
And that is exactly why she was here, in an unknown land filled with various huge green colored plants to test her theory out.
Suddenly her thoughts were interrupted when her ears perked up at the crunching sound. Ilaria swiftly stood up as her feet backed away.
She could feel someone was close, very close.
The more she retreaded, the more anxiety filled in her gut.
Her body stiffened when she saw a male wolf emerge through the thick bushes. It was large with a smooth light brown fur coat that shined in the sun. Black colored orbs rested on his face which looked incredibly dangerous.
The wolf snarled at her with distaste dripping from the corner of his mouth.
He looked powerful, almost too powerful.
The animal suddenly growled out, loudly. In an instant a group of large wolves emerged from every corner trapping her in a circle.
They had ambushed her without letting her notice.
The only thing circling her mind was that maybe her theory was indeed wrong.
She was definitely about to get killed, for sure.
Her orbs zeroed on every wolf. She could tell, almost all of them were in respectable ranks instead of the wolf who elegantly stood in the front. He appeared to be in a higher rank but bellower than an Alpha.
Ilaria gulped down the lump as she backed away slightly making the wolf hiss in anger and bared his teeth in the most frightening way. “Uh.. I mean no h-harm.” She stuttered, nervously. Her hands flew infront of her for protection. “Trust me.. I was just passing b-by.” Her face tilted a bit to search for any way of escape and to her luck she found one just opposite to the hungry looking wolf.
The mighty wolf stepped forward, his fury paws planting his steps on the soil. As if sensing his movements, the other wolves followed his actions.
She fisted her sweaty palms. It was a game of now or never.
1.. 2...
“I.. I’m sorry.”
3...
Ilaria immediately bolted to the opening. Her whole body was on her fire. The booming howls of the wolves were heard behind her, making her shiver in terror. If they captured she would most likely die. Shaking her head vigorously, she focused on running away with full speed.
An average wolf was a bit slower than her because her blood contained something only the Moon Goddess knew.
“Curses.” She bit her lip as the harsh air collided with her face making her slow down.
The powerful strides of the wolves never died down. The twigs snapped under their paws whilst the atmosphere became more dense than usual.
Her battered legs took her away fastily but everything had a limit and that thought made her quiver.
She turned her head around to see the beasts, to her dread they were nearing her with full speed. Looking back at the front, she increased her speed only to bump into solid rock infront of her. The air left her lungs when her head roughly collided with the ground.
She hissed in pain.
Placing her hand on the rock, she got up with great difficulty. Her gaze instantly blurred as she felt herself getting dizzy with every passing second.
“R-Run.. Common Ria, you can m-make through... this.” She muttered to herself as another throaty whimper left her mouth.
The thick blood from the fresh wound trailed down her jaw but she wasn’t gonna cry over it so without thinking she dashed away once again.
Her body screamed for her stop. It was just a matter of time she collapsed.
Ilaria turned around to the left and saw an abandoned cave. She immediately climbed over the rocks and made her way in it. Her aching body hid behind the rocks.
“Why me?”
The petite girl tilted her head sideways to gaze at the concrete wall that suddenly looked quite interesting whilst steadying her erratic breath but within seconds her body roughly flew to the other side of the cave with a harsh thud knocking everything out of her.
Blood splashed from her mouth in an immense amount.
Her unsteady blurry gaze shifted at the intruder and what she saw made her heart tighten in terror.
There and then she knew she was a goner.
The unconscious girl stirred within the cold on the concrete ground. Her eyes slowly fluttered open as her blurry gaze intook her dark and silent surroundings.Forcefully blinking away the haze, a rapid wave of panic flooded in her body leaving a trail of goosebumps on her dirty skin. Her head frantically moved around in order to search for some light but to her avail she didn’t succeed. The room was submerged in utter darkness. With the support of the wall Ilaria got up. Her forehead throbbed from the impact of the stone. Gathering her remaining energy she tried to take a small step forward but was abruptly stopped by something clinging to her ankle.Crouching down on her knees, her hand flew to the restraint that had ceased her movements. Immediately she hissed at the emerging burning sensation that surrounded her flesh. On the very spot she knew her ankle was restricted by a metal cuff that was dipped in a special liquid called silver. A liquid she was too familiar with from the d
Three weeks had gone by in a blur. Her weak whimpers were muffled up in the silent area. The first week she had tolerated with patience however the second week was hell. In the span of this time, the female and male guards came by just to punish her. They would bring different types of torturing weapons like whips dipped in silver, electric devices, cigarettes and much more. The old and fresh bruises inflicted on her body had ached throughout the whole time period. Two days ago a guard came by and had cuffed her hands from the roof letting her hang there without any support. His dirty hands had roamed all over body without any shame as he whipped her on the back until blood had seeped out of her cracked skin.Ilaria was finally left alone in her own dried blood. She couldn't heal properly due to her wolf not being present."C-Cherie?" Her broken voiced whispered in her mind but to her avail all she heard was silence. "I.. m-miss you."A soft smile grazed upon her lips. "Y-You know wha
The humongous room was extremely silent than usual.Gold and silver chains littered the walls with a tinge of red inbetween it. Huge crystal chandeliers hung from the roof giving the space a bright glow.Ilaria tuned out the mild whisperings of the people who gathered next to the two huge seats which were placed in the middle of the room. The royal seats were colored in specs of gold with red cushions attached to it.“Do you know why you’re here?” The man sitting on the throne spoke with immense authority. Her eyes gazed at his face, dreamingly. The only thought running in her mind; how could some be so attractive and frightening at the same time? An abrupt sharp pain ignited within the side of her waist breaking away the daze she was in. “Rouge? You dare to ignore the King?” The guard hissed in anger. Ignoring the ache, her orbs searched for some kind of emotion on his face but all she got was a blank response.“Answer, Rouge.” His loud raspy voice engulfed the whole area making the
"This will be your room."The old lady wearing a huge scowl on her face throwed her words with annoyance.Ilaria weakly nodded and glanced around the wooden cracked room. "You won't be getting any uniform infact you'll have to work, immediately. Be at the main pack house by 10. Don't be late." She stated and left her alone. Her eyes flickered around to see the room was basically empty; just a small bucket was placed in the far corner to relief her bladder. The whole area was covered in thick dust and cobwebs. She gulped down the lump forming in her throat. This room didn't look like a maids quarter instead it looked like a cell with an exception -- a window.Suddenly a streak of sweat rolled down her face in anxiety. "How will I find the pack house?" She questioned herself.Without wasting any time Ilaria bolted out of the room. Her battered bare feet led through the secluded and quiet hallways. Finally arriving at the open entrance, she walked out of the building and was instantly pr
A wave of dizziness flashed in her brain making her stumble in her steps.Ilaria had scraped the floors, raw and neat for the past few hours. The amount of pressure she released left her body in ac.Placing herself on the tidy ground, she closed her eyes and waited for the wave to pass."What the hell are you doing here, rouge?" A man's voice entered in her ears making her jerk. She tilted her head to find the same blond and dark eyed guy towering over her body. "C-Cleaning?" She replied. His brows narrowed and bluntly uttered, "With your eyes closed?"She bit her cracked lip and shrugged, looking away in embarrassment. Suddenly their small moment was interrupted by another man who was running and yelling at the same time, "Beta Luca, Alpha has postponed his travel and he wants you in his office, like right now. It's urgent."The Beta nodded, "I'll be there. Thanks Andrew." He bowed with a smile and left the two in silence.Ilaria got up with difficulty, her gaze once again wavered in
The morning sun rays enveloped the room, lighting up the darkened area.Ilaria turned around in her sleep and groaned. The past night had went by in fear. Her nightmares had ate her remaining peaceful moments. The light once again shined upon her face, she finally mustered up the courage of get up. The bones within her body cracked and popped. She yawned as her eyes adjusted to brightness.Ilaria stood up with a screaming bladder and went towards the bucket which was moldy and greasy. "Disgusting." She mumbled but nevertheless, relieved herself. The time when she lived in a cave, she used to go to the nearest human city to find public bathrooms. Humans didn't care much unless and until it was something important.Tugging her panties up, she let her dirty shirt, fell freely. The atmosphere was still a bit chilly but she had to bear it like always. "I hope the cat is.. safe." Sighing, she left the room and wiggled through the very same hallways.Arriving at the entrance, she left the su
IlariaThere is this moment when you are scared of receiving the punishment from your parents when you do something wrong and that is exactly what I felt right now. Only the difference was; that his deep green eyes were twinkling in the light yet I couldn't sense any rage within them or even displeasure. He tilted his neck with an arched eyebrow expecting me to answer. But all I could do was stare at his alluring beauty. They say 'men are handsome', but this guy infront of me? was insanely beautiful. His mop of dirty blonde hair fanned his pale skinned forehead in a massive amount. Dark green doey eyes, sharp nose and a defined jawline which could cut a paper if needed. His much looking younger face wasn't matching his deep and gruff voice. It was a sin to be that beautiful."Done starring at me?" his voice entered my ears breaking away the trance I was in. "B-Beautiful." I mumbled making the man smile."Why, thankyou."I hummed at his entrancing voice. It was a mixture of roughness a
'Fly high with your broken wings.' The line told by numerous people, but what if those people were responsible for your broken fly? "Mama, look look, what I found! A caterpillar!" A little girl came rushing towards her mother. The mother turned around, her once saddened face was replaced with love and adoration. "Wow, really baby?" The girl aggressively nodded, her toothy grin melting her mother's heart. "Can I show it to papa and big brothers?" Her mother immediately shook her head in a no and replied, "Some other time, hopefully. Papa is not here. He is in his office, working." Her smiley face dropped into a small pout, "you always tell me the same story. Does he not want to see me?" she asked, slightly tilting her head. "No means no Ilaria. When I tell you do to something you do it without any question." The mother silenced her up and went away leaving Ilaria in the dark abandoned storeroom with her lonely caterpillar. "I wish, you loved me like you mean it, papa."Ilaria's
