003. "Is this poisoned?"

"HE SIMPLY HATES WITCHES. WE HAVE THIS IS COMMON, but I also hate him, nobles, royals, and also the Fae."

He smiled again.

"That's funny. We personally like witches. They are incredibly powerful and smart. Well, the Dawn Kingdom on the other hand hates them."

I'm thankful because he didn't say it was my race, now that he noticed that I don't like them at all.

Not that I would show it, of course.

I took a deep breath, feeling calmer than before, and turn down Nacht.

"Now that you're calm, could tell why you came here since you thought the fae's here hated witches?"

Good question.

I felt the smell of my stew and run into the treehouse to erase the fire with my hand, so the smoke would not spread.

Right in the time.

When I was going down again, I found the fae male in my door, smelling my stew.

"Do you wanna?"

I offered it, now that he's seen it.

"Is this poisoned?"

He asked carefully, which make me laugh.

"Does it matter? The only things that can kill you are ash and weapons made of silver and ash. Something that can also kill me."

I said, still smiling, but he just looks at me with a freaking intense gaze.

"What?"

"You should smile more."

He said simply and I rolled my eyes.

"Whatever. By the way, this is a stew of snakes and vegetables. It's really good."

I served two bowls and took two spoons, both of which I had made using bamboo.

I give him one and take the other for myself, at the same moment I start to eat.

"Yeah, this time it was at the perfect time."

He tasted it carefully and after a few seconds, a satisfied smile appeared on his lips.

"It's very good actually. Did you make those bowls and the spoons by yourself?"

I ate some more before answering it.

"Yeah. I lived on my own here, far from civilization like you noticed. So I did everything here by myself. Using bamboo, wood, and other natural materials easy to find in the forest. And the spices, vegetables, and other edible things or that I use to make some simple potions and medicines are also things that have in the forest. Everything is easier when we get used to doing it."

"That's a fact. So, I assume that one of your wraths is the wrath of fire, to make the food and everything. Am I right?"

I knew that was coming.

"Yeah. You're indeed right."

"I have six wraths, it's a little rare, but it helps me a lot."

A signal blew in my mind with the information, screaming 'he's fucking dangerous, get away from him right now' again, and I moved away from him a little.

"You're with that savage look in your eyes again."

He said restlessly.

"Who are you, truly?"

I asked him, without taking my eyes off his.

"Oh Gods, I was waiting for this question. But I won't answer it yet. So, I feel something powerful coming from you. Could you tell me how much wraths do you have, dear?"

A shiver spread down my spine and I returned to the defensive.

"Oh come on, we're far from this road, don't come back there."

I clenched my teeth and he noticed.

"So... it's four or five, right?"

This bastard-

"What the hell do you want with me?"

"I need you!"

Why the hell my heart raced?

Am I a teenager?

"What did you say? Are you crazy?"

He smiled.

"There's some dark shit happening with all the races, and I want to stop this before it messed with everything irreversibly. But, unfortunately, I cannot do this alone."

"You bastard! You were searching for me? You already knew what I was and that I was here?"

I stand on my feet trying to control my feelings.

"Calm down little witch, the only thing I knew, is that in this area lived someone with one of the most stronger soulgics in the whole kingdom. I didn't know if it was a woman or a man if it was a fae, a witch, a werewolf, a fairy, or whatever. But when I was nearby I sense a ridiculous good smell of something that looked like a witch, but I knew it couldn't be just a simple witch."

"How did you know all of this?"

I asked on the defensive but I saw that he was uncomfortable with the question.

"We had a magical device that can show all the soulgics in the kingdom. If we extend the reach, we can see the soulgics on the whole continent. That's how I found you."

I noticed that this was something he didn't want to tell me.

"Excuse me, are you a fucking noble?"

He rolled his eyes and took a deep breath.

"I knew you would thought that. But no, little witch, I'm not from the nobility."

He simply said and I felt the tension in my muscles disappear.

"But you work with them."

I affirm.

"Mm-hmm, technically yes. So, could you tell me why do you hate nobles and royals?"

I bit my lip.

"Isn't obvious? They're people who think that they are superior to peasants, to people who only had one wrath, to people who have to work hard to be stronger, to people who weren't born great, to people who don't have money, to orphans and other races in general."

Passing my hands through my dark hair, I took a deep breath and continued.

"They think that just because they are nobles or royals, their word is the law, they can rule in the lives of others. But none of them care about the people who had nothing, money, wraths, or social status. They're all a bunch of scumbags cuz they don't give a fuck about the people who live in their kingdom. And I hate this."

He was staring at me with an intense and contemplative gaze.

"I agreed with you about this, but you have to know that this isn't the case here in the Dusk Kingdom, little witch. You may think like this cuz you lived in the territory of the kingdom, but you never really interacted with any citizen. If you had, you would notice how different our kingdom is compared to all the others."

The fae saw the disbelief in my eyes and said:

"The people here are genuinely happy and in peace. Well, at least they were-"

He pressed his lips frustrated.

"Until this shit starts to happen, now not just the faes but the other races are afraid. But the point is, this isn't the case here if you agree to help me, you will discover this by yourself."

"And why this wouldn't be the case here? What's the difference?"

I asked indignantly.

"Our king!"

His green eyes shining, showing how much he believes in this king.
