“Have they found him yet?” I asked.

“No, I am not sure we are looking for the right person,” Freeze says.

Freeze is my beta, and Solar, my gamma, is in my office with me. I have been looking for that child since it was born. We had heard that a rare black opal dragon had been born. I didn’t believe it when I first heard the rumours, but a cousin of mine had seen the child and the mark that the child bears. We were surprised to learn that the child was male. From what I understood, every black opal dragon previously born was a female. I sent out a few of my guys to track down and watch the family confirm the rumours. It took them a few weeks, but they did confirm the child was alive, and one of them even saw the mark. When he described what the child looked like, I was surprised. His description and what is written in the books were similar but different.

“What do you mean?” I asked.

“The tracker that came back told me that the child that they saw running from th
