Chapter 31

Waking up in the middle of the night, I try to regain my bearings. How did I get here? In my bed, with a muscled-jock werewolf who is addicted to me. I don't know. Something just makes me feel as if this is too good to be true. That when I look over, the boy with the beautiful face and soft chocolate-colored hair is just going to disappear. I reach out and brush some of it off his forehead. Which wakes him up.

"Cayce?" he asks, his blue eyes flashing in the moonlight that filters through the drapes and lands on his face. "What's wrong?" he asks, reaching out and wrapping his arm around my waist, pulling me close. I snuggle closer, not answering.

But I know if I don't, he'll not rest. So I answer. "I feel so content."

"Isn't that a good thing?" asks Bennet, looking down at my face which is lying on his chest.

"Yes," I say, "but it makes me scared."

"Scared? Why?"

"I'm afraid that...I'm afraid that you'll disappear the second that I turn away. A part of me just says that
