Cali could not stop looking at Perci's response upon seeing her brother. Was it a dreadful look, a glitter of hatred or longing? She does not know; he is simply too hard to read. Anyway, she couldn't care less what will happen between these two ex-lovers.
The air is so brittle it could snap, and if it doesn't— she might. No one speaks; what is there to say? Platitudes won't cut it right now. A week ago, they were just planning on how to win Perci again. She was more than enough to help her half-brother.
