How it all happened

ZENA POV'S

"What the hell is wrong with you Zena?!? Why would you do this to yourself!" My mum yelled in tears while I sat on the floor crying my eyes out. It hurts so bad knowing I was the cause of her tears. I failed as her daughter.

"Do you know the repercussions of what you did? How would you be so stupid to be pregnant for someone you know nothing about? How could you?!?" Mum yelled and I rushed to her and went on my knees, holding her legs. 

"I'm sorry mum, I'm sorry...I didn't know how it happened, I just—" 

 

"You just what!" Mum interrupted harshly and I blinked my eyes at her as I tried to explain to her all that happened. I was going to tell my mum everything 

[Three weeks ago]

I walked alongside my co-workers, and we headed toward the room which had been requested for our service. My job wasn't the normal type of waitress job you all knew, it was strictly confidential. Whatever is said here should not be heard outside

I worked at Veju Motel located beside an island. I wouldn't call it a popular restaurant since it wasn't well-known among the people in town. But this place was much more severe than everyone thought.

On a daily basis, most influential businessmen, CEOs, and many others, normally visit this place just to be free of paparazzi, but what I found out today was shocking, other things were going on here that I didn't expect.

"Move it, Zena, why are you so slow?" Irene spat irritatedly and I hurriedly walked further. I didn't know I was actually the one behind, guess I was lost in thought.

"Here's where you'll serve your drinks, go in and serve them while I serve others," Irene instructed me and left with the other ladies, making me blink in confusion. I didn't understand.

I looked around not knowing the actual room to go in, my tiny brain didn't even bother to ask for the room number and she also didn't even care to tell me.

Holding the tray of drinks firmly in my hand, I hurried down the long passage hoping to catch up with her but she was long gone. I couldn't find her even after searching for minutes, instead, I found myself in another long passage which I didn't know existed.

"Where am I?" I asked myself as I walked around not until I heard some set of people talking and I paused wondering if those were the people I was asked to serve. 

"The CEO of Alpha Technology has been acting strange, we need to get rid of him," An elderly man voiced out.

"Jesus Christ!" I didn't know when I exclaimed and the tray of drinks fell from my hands, making a smashing sound, causing the five businessmen to turn in my direction

"Oh boy," I murmured as I began to step backward gently. I knew instantly that I was done for. These scary businessmen were going to skin me alive.

Without thinking much, my brain processed on its own accord, and I immediately took to my heel.

"Get her!" I heard a man yelling and I increased my pace, running as fast as I could as I heard footsteps coming after me.

Yes, there were guards, men in uniform with those businessmen I saw earlier and I didn't need to look back to know that those hefty men were the ones chasing me.

The men got in my trail as they were almost close to me. Surprisingly I was slowly losing my breath even when I encouraged myself knowing my mum has no one except me. If I get caught by them, I'm finished. 

As I kept on running, I began to feel dizzy, that was when I recalled seeing a huge pipe emitting smoke, I must have inhaled it without my knowledge. As it stands now, they'll catch up with me any moment from now.

"God help me, God help me" I kept muttering as I ran as fast as my legs could carry me.

And just as if the heavens were on my side, the long passage finally came to an end, then I saw another direction to my left, leading to the other side, I quickly maneuvered skillfully.

"Hey, you!" One of the men yelled coldly, scaring the hell outta me.

I stood in front of another long passage thinking of what to do now. I know if I continued running I'd even be caught by them. I did the only thing I knew would save myself since I was already succumbing to dizziness.

A door that was slightly opened, I didn't even think twice and hurriedly ran into the room and then closed the door behind me, as I quickly sat on the floor breathing heavily.

My hands supported my head, I tried to catch my breath again and again.

Not long after, I heard footsteps running past the room and I smiled knowing I had outsmarted the men chasing me.

I tried to stand up but I fell back on the floor as my eyes were becoming blurry.

"No! No! This can't happen now," I mumbled as I tried to stand up again which I successfully did after several attempts. My legs were shaking, sweat all over my body, I can't remember the last time I ran this way.

I made to open the door so I could slip quietly out of the dark room, I couldn't see anyone or anything inside. But just as my hand touched the doorknob, I felt a cold hand on my waist and I flinched fretfully.

"You finally came, Alicia, I've been waiting for a long time," A hoarse manly voice said and I blinked rapidly, not understanding what he meant. 

"Wh…what?" I gulped as my mind became blank, I didn't hear any footsteps.

'And who is Alicia? Who is here? And why is the man mistaking me for Alicia?' I mentally asked myself. I wasn't in the right state of mind to question myself since the effect of the smoke was a tool on me.

Before I could tell him that I wasn't Alicia and I needed to leave before those men comes back, he asked, 

"Why aren't you saying anything, Alicia? Didn't you miss me just as much as I do?" His lips moved to the nape of my neck and he kissed me there. 

Heavenly… that's the word for what I felt when his lips touched my sweet spot but I blinked and turned to let him know that I am not Alicia.

"Listen, I'm—"

The next thing he did froze me on the spot because he slammed his lips on mine. I blinked severally trying to understand the situation but before I could even think about it, I found myself reciprocating the kiss. I didn't know if it was the effect of the smoke I inhaled or because this man in front of me is just skillful at claiming lips.
