Chapter 10: A Delectable Prey

"We do but we don't eat vegetables," said Luveas.

"Then, what did you just give me?" asked Amethyst.

"Humans' gourmet," Luveas said. "Forgive me for not saying anything because I didn't want to starve you. Also, I don't know what the elves normally have."

"Fruits, vegetables, fish and bakes."

Luveas lifted his face, surprised. Does that mean she trusts him now?

Silence filled the dimly lit room.

Amethyst, getting uncomfortable with his silence, then said, "Since you got nothing else to do, please leave."

"Do you need to bathe?" Luveas asked, jumping into a new topic. Somehow he was suddenly feeling elated.

"I'll have one after you leave," answered Amethyst coldly. She would never take a bath in the presence of her enemy.

"Then, allow me to prepare the water for you."

"Sure."

"Can I light the candles?"

"Go ahead."
