Chapter Four

Angie.

This guy was an incorrigible bastard, with a stupid ego the size of Finland. How dare he? "This is my house Mr. So you are going to have to leave." He gives me a sadistic smile in return, not even bothering to move away from my house.

"No can do Princess. I paid for this apartment and I just had a really stressful flight. You need to get out." If I wasn't so pissed with the man for his arrogance and bullheaded nature I'll have enjoyed the husky sound of his voice. He sounded southern and modern all in one. Like a combination of rough and smooth, two impossible things, yet together. His face was impossibly handsome too, well-chiseled with a gorgeous-looking splash of stubble that brought tingles to my skin. I didn't know how he managed to pull off a rough and formal look all in one. His tight body might have been clad in an expensive suit but the rugged look he had going on just couldn't be avoided. He reeked of power and dominance, the kind that could make a girl flip her panties, and that effect didn’t go unnoticed by me. His face was angular and lean, a thin straight nose complementing him perfectly well. The top three buttons of his shirt were left unbuttoned and as much as I tried to not stare at it, I just couldn't help but take a glance at his slightly exposed biceps.

"Take a picture blondie, it will last longer." Shit! He caught me.

"I doubt any picture could contain the size of that massive ego of yours." I retorted back. His eyes grew wider in size before a sly smirk was plastered on his beautiful face.

"So you admit that you would love to take a picture of me right?" I was dumbfounded for a few seconds. The nerve of this guy!

"Of course. You would look so much better though...on the other side of that door." His look darkened a dangerous glint dancing in the specks of his eyes.

"No."

"You know? This is the second time you're refusing to leave " my house"?" The smirk was completely gone from his face when he countered,

"You mean my house." I ran a hand through my hair. Not only was I standing topless with a stranger in my living room, but he also refused to show any signs of leaving soon. And I couldn't wear a shirt now. That would weaken the whole of my house, my rules resolve I had to going on.

"You know what? Let me call my housing agent. See what she says, then you get your frigid ass off my property ok?" I gave him my best killer glare. Let's just say if looks could kill, he wouldn't be standing here on the property.

"Fine. Suit yourself, can’t wait to see your ass out of here." His eyes went a tad lower to my ass.

Perv.

I walked away from him, giving him a look that said he shouldn't go wandering around my house. Thankfully he stayed put as I picked up my phone.

"Hello?" The voice of Mrs. Finley cut through the receiver before I could say a word. The sound of kids is heard through the receiver. I almost feel bad for ruining her weekend, but the stringent asshole in my apartment needed to leave.

"Hi Mrs. Finley, it's Angeline," I muttered lowly.

"Oh. Hey Angie! How's the weekend coming along?" Her voice was cheerful and sweet, I couldn't help but smile.

"Well, good. Ok, not so good. There's this guy, standing in my apartment"

"Or mine" The guy interrupted. I gave him a shushing sound.

"He claims he bought it a few weeks back and traveled here to move in. Is there something I should know Mrs. Finley?" I asked, worriedly. Hoping to God, they hadn't sold my apartment without informing me.

"Oh. That's weird. The apartment is still in your name Angie. Did you ask him the name of his apartment? You know how a lot of tourists get confused in Finland." There was undeniable warmth in her voice, probably feeling bad for the confused man. Even though he didn't deserve it.

“I'm not a tourist." He muttered under his breath. Thankfully, Mrs. Finley didn't hear that and I cut the call.

"Ok. I put it on speaker so you could hear everything. What's the name of your apartment?" His eyes wandered around for a minute trying to remember the name.

"Yes. 11th Avenue Hilton," he said. I released a breath I didn't know I'd been holding in, all this while.

"The problem is from you, sir. That's the only other apartment around here. This is 10th Avenue Hilton." If I wasn't so stressed already. I'd have been happy with the look of mortification that settled on his face, Good.

“Oh. I'm so sorry ma'am. Please forgive me for this mistake." He strangled out. He obviously didn't spend a lot of time apologizing since he sounded like shit, doing it. I led him to the door before giving him a stiff reply of his own.

"Sorry doesn't cut it, Sir." This time he was the one who looked flabbergasted by my reply and I couldn't hold back the smug look as I shut the door in his face.

Paybacks are a bitch!

Brandon.

"This branch is going to be the biggest thing in..." The guy was cut off by the loud music that began to play.

All the stakeholders who came for the meeting were staring at me, expecting me to do something about my very annoying neighbor. I would if I hadn't decided to ignore my obnoxiously immature and redundant neighbor. The girl couldn't stop trying to get on my every last nerve every chance she got. Now I was having a meeting with some very important clients and she was more interested in ruining it with those loud songs playing in her apartment. Had she no sense of neighborliness? I admit I was in the wrong two nights ago when I barged into her apartment claiming it to be mine. But having her for a neighbor should have been more than enough punishment for me already.

"I'm sorry Sirs' please just ignore that." I plastered a smile on my face while addressing the gentlemen in the room.

"Ok. So we've already agreed that...." He paused again because the music got painfully louder. They gave me pitiful eyes and I couldn't help but grit my teeth in annoyance.

"Let's call it a day now. I'll schedule another meeting shortly." The men all stood up and prepared their things to leave. I saw them to the front door before flopping down on my couch in annoyance. I couldn't even ignore the woman in peace. She was hell-bent on ruining my stay, at this rate. Having enough, I marched angrily to her apartment. I got inside and recognized the familiar meticulousness of her apartment. It was kept tidy. I guess I expected her to be a little messier. I half expected her to be dancing to the beats of the music but I was shocked to see her standing in the middle of her living room again, talking to herself. She didn't notice my presence for a while and I just stood there watching the myriad of emotions crossing her beautiful features as she rehearsed some sort of dialogue with herself. I was right, she was an actress.

"What are you doing here?" Her voice caught me off guard, her expression stiff. I stared at her for a moment, without saying anything, and she hissed in annoyance.

"You know what? Don't tell me that. How did you even get in?" At this, I smirked at her.

“You haven't learned anything about locking your place right,? I came in just the way I did two nights before." I drawled. Her gaze heated more and she placed an arm haughtily on her hips, my eyes followed the movement.

“What do you want?" She went back to the stack of papers in front of her, giving me the impression that she didn't care if I answered her or not, long as I left. Too bad I wasn't leaving until she stopped that horrible music. From the corner of my eyes, I can see the music player sitting close to her window. I walk over to it and switch it off.

"What the heck?" She yells at me.

"You ruined my meeting," I state blandly. Realization settles quickly in her eye, too bad I am just starting. "Do you know how important those clients were?"

"No. But I'm sure you're going to tell me," she answers in a bored tone while rolling her eyes.

"Of course, I will. Those clients you forced to leave because of the noise you were making, were here for a big deal." She gave me an apologetic look, one I wasn't buying.

"Look...?" She paused, waiting for me to fill in my name. I gave her a surprised look, but replied nonetheless, "Brandon." She tested the name on her tongue first as she cooed softly. The reaction I got was as unexpected as it was painful. My lower member hardened at the way my name rolled off her tongue. Fuck me! My dick was so fucking hard with just her saying my name, I didn’t even want to think about what I would do if she moaned it. I took a deep breath in, to steady my raging hormones. I blame this on not getting laid lately. That must be the course of my reaction to this beautiful neighbor of mine.

“Are you even listening to me, Brandon?" She asked annoyed at my lack of focus.

"I had to reschedule because of you."

"But I've already apologized."

"You seem to enjoy doing that a lot lately, Miss Angeline." she blushed a crimson shade.

"Please call me Angie," she mumbled.

"Angie. I wouldn't want this to happen again ok?" I stated. Where was this dominating voice coming from? She noticed my tone and bit her lip slowly before raising her face to meet mine.

"You don't get to tell me what I should or should not do Brandon."

"Don't test me Angie." she took an involuntary step back, at the harshness of my tone.

"Were you born this way or did you take lessons to become this much of a prig?" She stated angrily at me.

"You know? You should come with a warning label." I said glaring at her. She hissed angrily at me.

"Me? Oh please. I'm the one who should be saying that." she spoke defiantly.

"Like I'm the one who ruined your chances at making money," I replied. She gave me an offended look.

"The people who put up with you daily? Those are the real heroes."

"I have to put up with you Angie. Being called a hero isn't enough" She remained silent and just glared at me.

"So? Do I have your word?" I asked with finality.

"You have nothing of mine Brandon" she snapped and stood up to walk away to her room. I turned away not wanting to see what her room looked like. It was bad enough, I had such thoughts about my new neighbor. Add the sight of her bedroom to that and I'm not sure what I would do. Before disappearing into her room she called out to me.

"Please see yourself out the door Brandon. And next time, don't forget to knock before coming in." And the door was slammed shut. It's not my fault she has some attitude problem right?
