CHAPTER TWO

“Angela? Angie? Angela, are you planning on getting up anytime soon” Angela yawned lazily as she turned to put her alarm on snooze yet again

“Angela, aren’t you going to get up?” Jane asked

“What time is it?” Angela mumbled sleepily

 “It’s six a.m….”

“Six a.m?” Angela yelled as she jumped off the bed and flew to the bathroom “why didn’t you wake me up Jane?”

“Your alarm’s been going off for thirty minutes now, I thought you’d be awake by now”

Angela flew to the small adjoining bathroom that connected her and Jane’s room as she hurriedly took a shower while brushing her teeth at the same time. She had done it again, why couldn’t she just be organized for once in her life, it’s such an irony that she got a job as an assistant because assistants are supposed to be organized.

She was out of the bathroom in less than four minutes as she hurriedly got dressed. Jane came into the room and Angela saw that she was already done dressing, she was even about to leave the house. ‘She’s more suited for the role of assistant than I am’ Angela thought as she looked Jane over.

Jane was a tall, pleasingly plump young lady of twenty five years, she had green eyes with long gorgeous brown hair that was always shining for some reason, she had an aura that commanded power and respect, anywhere she went, people automatically want to please her, she was bright, smart, cheerful and very friendly with a figure to die for.

She had on a pair of blue jeans with a white camisole and red blazers and she looked stunning with her black hair in a tight ponytail and there was a touch of light makeup on her face.

“Angela, I’m leaving. What time would you get off work?” Angela zoned out for a moment as she had no idea, she had forgotten to ask Tristan about her closing time.

“Shit! I’m sorry Jane, I didn’t ask. But I’ll be sure to text you as soon as I find out. You look great by the way.”

“Thanks.” Jane said as she checked herself out one more time “what are you wearing by the way?”

Angela shrugged and pointed out what she’ll be wearing “just my LBD and black cuissardes with a black blazer”

“The body con dress?”

“Yeah” Angela answered

“Ooh, Angie, are you planning to seduce your boss on your first day of work?” Jane asked with a sly smile

“Absolutely not, that man is the devil himself. Does he even has human feelings?” Jane laughed long and hard over this

“I should go, so I won’t be late. See you later, love you. Remember to text me”

“I will. Love you too” Jane left and Angela got dressed quickly, when she was done, she stared at her reflection in the mirror, her hair was a mess. She hated her hair, it was like a sponge over her head. She tied it up in a very messy bun and stared at her reflection again

Angela was a very gorgeous lady of an average height, her lips were red not pink and she had a smile that could melt even the coldest heart, her brown eyes were warm and showed tenderness, she was slim and her long legs were one of a kind and she often enjoyed showing it off. The only problem is her hair, her sun it was always a pain in the ass for her, it’s damaged and the split ends are straight from hell, it was giving her a headache.

Angela’s POV

I walked to the bus stop and waited, I took one more glance at the time on my phone and gasped 6:50 I’m fifty minutes late on my first day, I’m not so sure Tristan would be happy about this . Just then, a sleek, white limousine parked in front of me and I was confused until the window at the back rolled down and I saw Tristan’s angry face

“You’re late!” He growled and I began to stammer

“I’m…. I’m really sorry, I….er…. I had a bit of an emer…..gency and…..”

“Just get in” He yelled and I stood in front of the door pulling and pulling the handle but it wouldn’t budge

“Stop, just stop!” He yelled and a chauffeur came to open the door for me. “Thanks” I said and gave him a smile and he nodded

I sat in the limousine and looked around in awe, the leather chairs were so soft and comfy, I could sleep in it, there was a flat screen TV, a world class stereo system, a….. I came face to face with Tristan and I cleared my throat

“Um, good morning Mr Perry” I said nervously

“I asked you to get to work by six a.m Miss Cameron” he said coldly

“Yeah, I know but I had an….”

“What’s my schedule for today?” He interrupted harshly and Angela was lost, she knew Assistants were supposed to have their boss’s schedule because she read about it online, but Tristan didn’t share his calendar with her and this job was gotten in such a rush that everything was just happening so fast

“Um…. I don’t have it?” I replied shakily and his blue eyes became bluer which by the way, I’ve never noticed how gorgeous they were. Come to think of it, I’ve never really looked at Tristan, the man was beautiful. His brown hair was perfectly combed, his bearded face was perfectly outlined, he had a chiseled nose and well defined cheekbones, with perfect lips. He looked like a prince straight out of a fairytale, too bad he always had a scowl on his face.

“What do you mean by you don’t have it?” He snapped, jolting me out of my thoughts

“You didn’t….”

“Do you even know anything about being an assistant?”

“Yeah, but….”

“I don’t think you know how this job works. What the hell am I supposed to do this morning? Just sit in my office all day and stare at space…?” He kept on ranting and I could feel my temper rising, this man was rude, very rude and arrogant, he didn’t even let me finish a sentence before cutting me off. I’ve had enough of his disgusting attitude

“Shut up!” I yelled and he stared at me in surprise

“What the fuck did you just say to me?”

“Sorry, that came out wrong, what I meant to say was please keep quiet.” I met his burning gaze but managed not to squirm under it “look Mr Perry, I know you plan to make me miserable and all, but don’t you think it’s way too early to start yelling at me, you’re as much to blame as I am in this. You gave me a job outside my qualifications, you didn’t share your calendar with me, you just expect me to miraculously have it? What do you take me for, a computer? Even computer needs programming to enable it carry out the instructions you give it. So please sir, can you kindly forward me your calendar and all your agenda so I can arrange them for you?”

He stared at me for a long while with disbelief on his face and without saying a single word, he turned to his phone. The rest of the drive was very quiet.
