I was just about to leave the comfort room when I was unexpectedly stopped in my tracks. My eyes were drawn to the necklace she was wearing, and I couldn't help but speak up, my tone laced with anger, "Veronica, seriously? You took my necklace?!"

Before I could react further, she retorted, "Slow down on the accusations, Kassandra. Who said this necklace is yours? You're not the only granddaughter of our grandmother. I am too. I believe I have a right to it."

Her words irritated me, and though I knew we were both granddaughters, we had yet to confirm if we were legitimate sisters.

Frustrated, I asked, "How did you manage to open my safe?"

"Ask our father about that, Kassandra. Please, let's not be constantly at odds. We're sisters after all. We don't have to fight every time we see each other," she said, trying to ease the tension.

I couldn't hide my disdain for her as I glared at Veronica. It seemed like getting along with her was an impossible task.
