To Rufus’ consternation, Rujan’s friends visited him. The infirmary became a place for high school reunions. He could hear his mate’s giggles while the three men teased her. She has been a devoted wife since Rujan woke up.

He felt like an outsider, and he hated it. His brother was enjoying the care and attention he received from Everleigh. He was in a black mood, and his pack started to become weary again, except for his sons. Even the three boys shrieked with joy when they saw Rujan. He knew he was illogical when it came to Everleigh from the beginning. He lost her seven years ago because of his foolishness. He used every ounce of his patience not to kick his own brother out of the infirmary.

Rufus was watching them through the CCTV, and so far, so good. Rujan didn’t try to become intimate with her. They had some familiarity with each other, but not on an intimate level. Everleigh knew what he needed, and she was there to assist him or give him anything he needed.

Everleigh was also
