Twenty Two

Ryker turned his attention to the picnic basket by the side of them and started lifting out dishes he had grabbed for this evening.

“Now,” he started. “A little birdie told me that you have a thing for biscoff?” He cocked his brow slightly as he glanced at Brielle.

A mischievous grin crept onto Brielle’s lips as she let out a soft chuckle. “That may be true.” She admitted.

“So its a good thing I packed this then?” He asked, as he dangled a jar of biscoff in front of Brielle.

Brielle’s eyes widened in delight as she reached for the jar. “It’s definitely a good thing.” She agreed as she unscrewed the lid, desperate to dig in already. However, the night in the kitchen with River suddenly flashed in her mind. “Is River the one who told you about this?” She questioned as frown transformed her expression.

Ryker sighed as he noticed Brielle’s expression harden. “He’s not as bad as you think he is, you know.”

Brielle snorted as she rolled her eyes. “Yeah, he’s a real delight.”
