The first thing that scared Isabella was the fact that she hadn't knocked yet before the invitation to come in. The second was the voice that sent shivers down her spine. She took in air that would be sufficient for her stay in the room before slowly pushing the door and stepping in. She found herself in another world. The room was darker than the corridor, and more spacious. The feeling of fear that washed over her wasn't one she could control. When they had gone halfway up the stairs, Margaux stopped walking and turned back. "There are some rules you must abide by, and Master Ralph said he will personally lay them out to you." Rules again? Why so many rules? And why Master Ralph?

There was a telephone on the table, decorated with blue petals that matched the colour of the room. Isabella stood rooted to the spot. She had almost gotten a heart attack! With a sigh of relief, she palmed her chest. Another shrill ring came again, jolting her like it had done before. That was the point reality dawned. The phone was going to continue ringing until someone picked it, or until it had exhausted the ringing timeframe.
