The Proposal

Anxiousness crawled all over her body. Hazel covered her cheeks to hide her face. After throwing her inside that luxurious car, they left her in an empty room with only one chair and table. Like those scenes from the movies where the police investigate the criminal to admit their crimes.

Different scenarios already came to her mind. Are they going to tie her upside down? Put her head in a bucket of cold water? Worse if they cut her fingers one by one.

Hazel knew that she was innocent. She did nothing wrong. Theo randomly ran onto her and called her “Mama”. She didn’t know a single thing about motherhood. Even though it was hard and she was embarrassed, she is willing to admit that she never had any relationships or past lovers.

After she got thrown out from the orphanage, she worked and worked for her life. All that came into her life was money. She wanted to finish school and find a better job. She wanted to let this society know that an Omega like her can also go along with a luxurious and better life without receiving any help from an Alpha.

Hazel irked when the door finally opened. Seven to ten men wearing black suits walked inside the room. All with gloomy auras. They stood side by side from the door, then a familiar figure entered the room last.

His aura changed everything and the bright small room became smaller as if it was suffocating her.

Hazel gulped.

The last man who entered the room was Theo’s father from earlier. The handsome tall, masculine man who looked like an Alpha. He is carrying such energy that anyone can find intimidating.

One of the men put a chair in front of the table, facing the lady.

“These are all the papers you asked, boss.” He said, putting a brown long envelope on the table.

The Alpha then opened the envelope and scanned those folders one by one. After a moment of silence, he started to share his words.

“Hazel Alison Forest. An orphan who grew up in Sister Mary’s Foundation. Currently studying at Crestwood University.” His deep voice read every word about her like tickling her soul.

He put the folders down and those sharp gazes turned to Hazel. “22 years old.” He tilted his chin, “And an omega.” He added.

Hazel gulped when she heard the word omega. She didn’t know what to say either. She didn’t know these people. They might seem calm but she can feel that they are dangerous.

“What are you doing on the bridge, Hazel?” The Alpha asked.

Hazel clenched her fist while looking down. She remembered her embarrassment. Why would she even want to give up life that easily by jumping off the bridge?

“I’m so stupid,” she mumbled to herself.

“Yes, you are.” The Alpha replied, making Hazel realize that she whispered that too loud for him to hear.

The Alpha leaned back on the chair. He took a cigarette from his pocket and one of his men lit it up. He puffed his black cigarette and once again looked at the lady in front of him.

“I already searched all of your backgrounds. You don’t have any bad or criminal records. Working student who has a lot of jobs. You don’t have parents and live in a small apartment.”

He paused before talking again.

“So, why does my son recognize you? Have you met or saw him before?” he asked.

Hazel quickly raised and shook her head. “I don’t know. This is the first time I saw your son. I don’t even know you.” She firmly said.

After saying that, all of those men lined in black coughed as if they were embarrassed. The one who lit the Alpha’s cigarette stepped forward.

“You don’t know the boss?!” He exclaimed. “Are you kidding me?! The man in front of you is Axel Razer Cameron. The next in line Alpha Heir of Cameron Clan.”

Hazel’s eyes widened after hearing those words. She felt like someone struck her with a bolt of lighting. She heard it right. Axel Razer Cameron, a young businessman by day and a mafia at night. His surname is famous because their Clan is on the top of the Alpha rankings.

They said to never ever try to fight or intimidate this Clan because it can ruin your life.

Sweats formed from Hazel’s forehead. She was dumbfounded and shocked at the same time. What will she do now? Can she even escape this room full of Axel’s men? She should have jumped from the bridge earlier instead of letting herself be in this situation.

“You need money, right?” Axel asked, fixing his gazes towards Hazel’s brown eyes.

Hazel unconsciously put her hands up and wrapped it around her body, leaning forward her chair. “Please! Not my body!” She exclaimed.

Axel’s eyebrows knitted and he sighed. “We are not doing that kind of negotiation.” He said, waving his hands to one of his assistants.

One of the men put a document and a pen on the table.

“Read it,” Axel said. “I want to propose something.”

Hazel took the document and carefully read what was printed on it. Every word changes her expression, especially when she finally sees the numbers.

“Are you serious!?” She blurted out. “You are giving me this large sum of money if I work under you?!”

Axel nodded.

“You are not typically working under me, but under my son. Your job is to be his “Mama”. He added.

“You will also sponsor my tuition and I can choose whatever school I want?!” Hazel exclaimed once again.

“Yes,” Axel replied.

Connections are easy for him. He can even put Hazel in all of the Universities in this country. He is well known after all. Just one flick from his fingers and everything will be in place.

Hazel’s heart skipped a beat from excitement. She already has a lot of schools she wants to enter and this opportunity is a big life changer for her. Knowing that she can also earn this much money in a month, she replied.

“Please tell me your job conditions,”
