Elpidio stepped out of the taxi, his heart pounding in his chest like a monkey drummer toy was playing resounding in his head. The tall, dark manor of Gaston Dante loomed in front of him, looking more like a castle of nightmares than a house. He walked up to the grand entrance, his steps slow, trying to gather his courage. He had been here multiple times already but the more he visited the more terrified he was of the place and its owner.

At the door, two large men blocked his way. They looked him up and down, their eyes sharp and questioning. Elpidio held his gaze steady, trying not to show his fear. After a tense moment which involved the men scrutinizing him, one of the men seemed to recognize him and nodded slightly.

The men stepped aside, letting him pass.

He walked past them and went into the house. It was dimly lit, with weird exaggerated shadows dancing on the walls. Elpidio walked through a series of hallways, the silence around him only broken by the sound of his own footst
