Vincent woke up to someone pounding on the door. He felt Rebecca stir next to him. He sent her a smile as she turned around, opened her eyes and grunted at him. “I’ll get it,” he told her. He kissed her on her forehead letting his lips linger for longer than normal.
“It’s probably the girls,” she said pulling away to look into his eyes.
BANG, BANG, BANG
“I’m guessing we can't just ignore them?” Vincent asked her. She laughed and shook her head. “Okay,” he sighed before getting up and walking to the front door.
“I knew it!” Joni shouted as soon as she sees Vincent standing in front of her. Vincent opened his mouth to ask her what she was talking about but both girls pushed past him. “Where is Becs?” Joni turned around to look at him before turning around to shout at Rebecca.
“I’m coming,” she said as she stomped down the stairs.
“Why was the chain on the door, Becs?” Joni crossed her arms with a look on her face that was angry. It quick
Vincent showed up at Rebecca’s to take her to dinner. He knocked on the door but there was no answer. He knocked three times and still nothing, so he tried the door. “Unlocked. Of course,” he muttered as he opened her door. “Rebecca, I have told you. Leaving your door unlocked isn't safe,” he shouted. He waited for her to yell back but got nothing. He could hear a sound but, he wasn’t sure what it was. “Rebecca? Are you okay?” He shouted. No answer but the noise again. He ran up the stairs, the sound getting louder, “Rebecca?” He walked to the bathroom door that wasn’t closed all the way. Rebecca was sitting on the floor beside the toilet with her head against the wall. She had a towel wrapped around her she looked like she had gotten out of the shower before she got sick. “Rebecca,” he rushed to sit beside her.“Vince?” She said lifting her head and looking at him through the tears that were in her eyes from all the vomiting she had been doing for the last hour.“Hey. I’m here, Rebec
Vincent woke up the next morning with Rebecca in his arms. He felt such relief that she had agreed to move in. He planned to talk to her about which of the extra rooms she wanted to be turned into the nursery for the baby. He would even give up his office if she wanted, although, he didn’t like the idea of the baby sleeping that far from them. He stared at her while she slept for a few minutes before deciding to get up and make her some breakfast.Vincent was adding the tenth pancake to the stack when Domenico walked into the kitchen. “Morning, Boss.”“Dom. Do you not knock anymore?” Vincent asked his cousin. He didn’t really care he was in too good of a mood to let anything bother him.“Sorry,” Domenico held up his hands in surrender. “Why the hell are you making so much food?” He asked looking around the counters noticing eggs, bacon, pancakes, waffles and French toast. He picked a grape out of the bowl if fruit that was in front of him and threw it into his mouth.“Don’t pregnant w
Two days later, Rebecca was still thinking about everything Lidia said. She had held it together until they had pulled out of the driveway before she burst into tears. Vincent had placed his hand on her thigh to comfort her. He didn’t remove it the whole way and he held her hand on the elevator too. But as soon as they got into the apartment, Rebecca shook him off and walked to her old room shutting and locking the door. She spent the rest of the day in there not coming out to even eat no matter how much Vincent begged. The next day she came out but didn’t say much unless she was spoken to. Vincent tried hard to get her to talk. To show his love and support, he didn’t leave her side for the whole day waiting for her to want to talk or need him for anything else. He apologized for his sisters' words but she didn’t want to hear it. She was waiting for him to really think about what Lidia had said and decide that he believed her.Rebecca was trying to pay
When Vincent opened his eyes the next morning, he found Rebecca already awake and looking at him. He would have thought it was cute that she was watching him sleep if he couldn’t tell by the look in her face that something was wrong. “What wrong, Mi Amore?” He turned on his side and propped his head up on his hand. “Talk to me,” he rubbed her arm when she hesitated.“I’m nervous,” she said biting her lip.“Nervous for what? Shopping today?” Rebecca nodded her head. “It’s just shopping,” he laughed.“It’s more than shopping!” She half shouted. “Roxy text me and told me that your mother and Lidia are coming now too,” she told him standing up and waving her hands around. When she had gotten the text, she was in so much shock that she didn’t reply and started staring at Vincent waiting for him to wake up. Now she was pacing.“Hey, Rebecca,&r
Rebecca woke up and looked out the large window across from the bed. It was still dark she moved to cuddle into Vincent but found that he was gone. She rolled over to pick her phone up from the bedside table. It was three in the morning, maybe he was in the bathroom. She waited about ten minutes before deciding he couldn’t be in the bathroom and got up to find him.She walked out of the bedroom and looked up the hallway toward the living room. It was completely dark. She looked the other direction and noticed that a light was on. She headed that way and heard something drop in the floor and Vincent curse. She smiled when she realized the light and noise was coming from the room, they had decided on being the nursery. When she got to the doorway she stood there and watched as Vincent tried to figure out where the piece he held went to the rest of crib. He dropped the piece and picked up the instructions looking over them. Rebecca tried not to laugh at the sight of
Rebecca went straight to her doctor's office when she was dropped off at the door of the hospital. “I have an appointment with Dr. Smith,” she told the receptionist.“Rebecca,” she heard Sandy say from beside her. She turned and gave the doctor a smile. “Come with me.” Rebecca followed her through a door and down the hallway to an exam room. When she sat on the bed, Sandy took a seat on a rolling stool. “So, what’s going on? You don’t need to be here until next month,” she gave Rebecca a worried look.Rebecca took a deep breath, “I think I’m gaining too much weight,” she told her. “I mean I know everyone gains at different rates but I just have a feeling,” she shrugged. Sandy nodded her head.“Okay,” she opened a file in her hand, “your HcG levels were a little higher than they normally are at your last appointment. How bad is your morning sickness?”
Rebecca dropped the gauze she was using to wrap a burned foot on a patient, for the third time. “I’m sorry,” she said smiling at the women.“No problem,” she smiled back. Rebecca took a deep breath and forced herself to focus on the task at hand. When she was done, she said a quick goodbye letting the patient know that a nurse would be in with her paper work and rushed out of the room. She was having the worst time focusing on anything other than what she had overheard Vincent tell his sister. After Roxana’s gasp had gotten his attention, he had not said anything to explain what had been said. He had told Lidia they would speak later and rushed Rebecca to the elevator where he quickly pulled his phone out and started checking emails and sending texts. Rebecca rushed off the elevator when the doors opened. He grabbed her gently by the arm turning her to look at him.“I have a meeting. Call me if you need to,” he kis
Rebecca looked at the dress that was too tight the last time she had tried it on. She had been so busy with all the last-minute details for the wedding and getting some problems with the clinic fixed, that she hadn't gotten another chance to try it on after the last alterations. She took a deep breath and hoped that it fit.“Mi Amore?” She heard Vincent calling out to her as he walked into their bedroom. She looked at him through the mirror when he entered the bathroom. “Are you nearly ready? We need to leave for the house. Dom has been calling me all morning and I’m sure Ros is waiting for you,” he walked closer to her kissing her bare shoulder. She sent him a smile before grabbing her toothbrush.“She wasn’t happy that I didn’t stay all night with them all at the hotel,” she began to brush her teeth.“I know. I’m sorry. I just hated thinking of you being all the way across town. If something hap
