It was Lucas's wife who approached me and informed me that "the alpha's mother wants to see you."

As soon as I heard her tell me such a piece of good news, I had the sensation that I was flying. I asked her in a confused and wondering tone while simultaneously beaming from ear to ear, "me? Now? Why?”

She gave me a proud grin, nodded her head, and elaborated as she told me, "I told her about you, and she thinks she can give you a good job inside the castle."

I blinked and opened my eyes wider before asking her for more information. I also opened up to her about how I was feeling and disclosed to her the things that were bothering me. “Really? I truly appreciate it. That would be something I could only hope for. You can't even begin to fathom how awful I felt when I stepped inside those communal tents where the omega workers and farmers were staying."
