Adrian’s POV"Tick-tock, tick-tock, tick-tock.."The sound of the antique wall clock reverberated from one corner of my office to the other. As usual, I am still swamped with back-to-back meetings and tons of papers I needed to sign. This would probably be my routine until I taught myself how to forget Aria. But until then, I would probably bury myself in work. I would also be needing some physical pleasure here and there and at Cassie was more than willing to provide it for me. Was it a great plan? Definitely not. I fucked up in this relationship thing that the only thing I knew to ease the pain I was feeling was through work and sex. Well, I am an idiot…that’s for sure! And so far, I already felt how undeserving of me to have Aria as my mate. As I checked the time once more from my wristwatch, the shorter hand reached two while the minute hand struck twelve. I didn’t realize that the day was almost over. I took a deep breath. This was the distraction I am desperately needing. Ju
Aria’s POVI don’t know what has gotten into Nixon’s mind that he invited me to have lunch in his cabin. I didn’t know any special occasion that this day was harboring. I was really hesitant to come because I have a lot of things to finish but he insisted I come. He bribed me into giving me a very special gift so I decided to get on with it. He also instructed me to leave Aurora at my mom’s house. It was a bit weird but I just shrugged it off. Nixon was always weird so nothing much to think about. The Moon Valley pack was the pride of the northern region. Unlike the Darkwood pack, Moon Valley territory was still untouched by industrialization. Its borders were rich in mineral deposits and other natural resources. This was the reason why a lot of packs wanted them to invade the place. The Death Eater spent his whole life defending this pack from them. I guess that is one of the things we should be thankful for the late alpha. I found myself enjoying the bunch of trees surrounding the
Aria’s POVNixon was right, Adrian was the happiness I long deprived myself of.In the four corners of my room, I had always imagined this moment: me walking hand in hand with the person I was supposed to spend the rest of my life with and dreaming about our future together. I almost gave up this dream when Adrian rejected me two years ago.But now, that day finally came true. The palm of his hand was surprisingly warm. While it was hard and firm, it was still something I was willing to hold forever. My heart continued to race like a stallion as I look at his broadened back. He was walking a few steps ahead of me so I was oblivious to the emotions written on his face. It wasn’t long before we saw the entrance of the pack house. Whatever happened in Nixon’s cabin was way out of the plan. Fear took over my whole being as the reality of the whole situation struck me. I shuddered, worrying about how Moon Valley would react to the impending revelation. This made me cease my steps leaving
Aria's POVAfter Adrian’s announcement of our engagement, he immediately called the Moon Valley council for a meeting to discuss some paperwork to make the betrothal official. Meanwhile, I decided to stay at Mom’s house for a moment to spend some time with my daughter. The news about our engagement came to everyone’s shock. Well, Cassie’s reaction was already expected. Meanwhile, Hunter seemed to be more accepting while mom, although already agreed to it, still had some concerns. “Are you sure you want to do this, Aria? Did Adrian or the council pressure you to get married?”I hugged my mother from behind who was currently slicing the sandwich we will eat. I leaned my head to her shoulders. “No, mom. Nobody pressured me to do it. This is what I want.”“But don’t you think it’s a little rushed? You just came back to this pack after living on your own. A lot had changed—”“But not what I felt for Adrian, obviously,” I scoffed. Mom looked me in the eyes. “Let me make things clear, Ar
Aria’s POV Days turned to weeks and weeks turned to months. I couldn’t believe that two months had already passed. Adrian did everything he said he would. Every morning, he was giving me some white flowers to start my day. While we are sleeping in a single room with Aurora, he only slept in the couch. He also didn’t forget to compliment me on everything I do while giving me some freedom to do what I think is best. Even though he was the alpha of this pack, he treated me as an equal and never micromanage my job as the Luna. He was also building a strong relationship with Aurora. Every day, he was dedicating at least an hour to talking and play with her. He also asked me about the things she liked and the thing she didn’t like. Sometimes, he would cook her favorites and would play her favorite games. He was showing me every single day why he deserves the second chance I gave him. And so far, he was on the right track. Right now, we are both preparing for bed. Aurora was having a
Cassie’s POVPurple Castle Bar.If you are ever wondering what it might be like to walk into a saloon or brothel back in the day, this is about as close as you can get. This place has been around for centuries ago. The atmosphere is great and the staffs were friendly. But what I like about this place was not the environment nor the good drinks they offered. Rather, I was more interested in the camaraderie they build up here. All of the wisdom I have in the art of lovemaking, I learned here. The Purple Castle Bar was an old bar that used to be a brothel back in the 18th-17th century. People normally didn’t eat here but instead, they just enjoyed a couple of drinks and enjoyed some company. There is no charge to walk into the place, only if you want to tour the museum upstairs containing the history of the place. They still offered sex services though, but only for specific clients only. I could still remember the first time I visited here. I was around 13 years old, drugged, bruised,
Cassie’s POV“Are you sure you want to do this? There’s still time for you to back out.”It was Lucia. Her eyebrows were pulled up with her eyelids, tensed. Vertical wrinkles appeared between her eyebrows. She was visibly distraught. The clear indication of fear and worry that I could sense from her was making my heart melt. Truly, this girl cared for me and I was happy to know that. “Don’t worry, Lucia. Mama would not let anything bad happen to me,” I exclaimed while holding her hand. She took a slightly-hesitant nod before smiling at me awkwardly. “I wish you well. May you come out safe from this room.” She hugged me one time before proceeding on chaining my hands and feet. I was totally naked and exposed while chained on top of this table. I was in an unfamiliar room, a hidden part under the Purple Castle Bar. The room was covered with thick bricks, probably to seclude the sound from coming out. I could only imagine what type of sounds they were trying to cover and I wasn’t inter
Aria’s POV“Something Shiny, Something Woody, Something Given, Comes with two.”Growing up, I often hear this old, werewolf rhyme whenever a wedding was to happen in our pack. It was a tradition wherein a she-wolf bride-to-be was expected to carry anything that corresponds to the requirements of the rhyme on her wedding day. Doing so would bring good luck to their marriage. While there was nothing wrong with following old traditions, I also didn’t think this was a requirement. Why? Because I believe that the key to a blissful union lies in the hands of the two persons inside the marriage. As the old saying goes, it takes two to tango. If I were to ask, I never dreamt of an extravagant wedding. I didn’t see myself in some highly-embellished gown or wearing expensive pieces of jewelry on my big day. I also didn’t want a wedding with too many guests that I, or should I say we, didn’t have a personal connection with. I would be happy to have a simple ceremony surrounding my family and a
