This had to be a trial by the moon goddess for Hudson to go through. His pack members respected him, and loved him.

His pack was the largest and most flourishing throughout all the northern continent. The accomplishments achieved under him had already surpassed what his dad had done in the past.

It's hard to grasp that he had this detrimental limitation. The Alpha heir was critical to the continued strength of the pack. The next Alpha had to come from the Carter's bloodline.
