Wendy Rivers

Chapter 3

FEARING THAT HE had hurt the voice’s feelings Willy added more calmly, “But, are you saying that you were speaking directly by thought to my head? Was I hearing you in my head — is that what you’re saying?”

Willy asked still unable to shake off the feeling of bewilderment.

‘Correct!’ Andy finally spoke up. ‘I have always spoken by thought directly to you head.’

And just to clarify the former query Andy stated, ‘I am a formless entity, that’s why you will not see me — but you will only hear me in your head,'

Andy added further, ‘Think of a question, any question — and this time don't speak out loud, just think the question in your head.’

“Wow! Okay,” Willy said out loud. At this state it was all too strange and unbelievable to Willy, but he decided to try anyway.

He was ready to believe anything at that stage.

Willy thought, ‘Repeating my first question. How is the energy transferred to the other worlds? You haven't answered that yet.’

Andy’s voice beamed in his head, ‘Brilliant Willy. About that, sorry but I was getting there. Yes telepathy is fascinating.’

‘Yes,’ Willy thought in agreement.

‘Yes,’ Andy echoed adding. ‘Another equally fascinating reality is the use of portals. Have you noticed, the generated energy doorways that appear from no where, that allows you to get from one room to the next?’

‘Yes,’ thought Willy.

‘Well,’ added Andy. ‘Those are portals, we don't have to use lifts, or travel for great distances in this mega building. Most of the rooms that you went to, are below the surface of the city.’

Willy was dumbstruck; then a bright projected image appeared suddenly startling Willy!

.  .  .  .  .

Another projected image appeared: The live image of a large bright yellow beam of light shooting from some sort of a machine into a huge portal,

It was an awe–inspiring sight. It was dazzling and brilliant.

Referring to the brilliant image now, Andy said, ‘Does that answer your question? The Alien civilizations are at the other end of that permanent portal, receiving the converted energy which is no longer green, but bright yellow in colour.’

“Amazing!” Willy said out loud, now lost in a deep cycle of his own thoughts.

‘I’m sorry,’ continued Andy. ‘It’s jus a projected image of the real thing, because it’s too dangerous to take you near the actual thing. The dangers included are: The extremely high level of heat and radiation.’

Regarding the imminent danger, Willy said, “Seeing the projected image is just fine with me, I don't want to get close to something that’s actually dangerous.”

Andy chuckled:

Willy found that to be strange, to his correct understanding; Can a non living entity, such as a computer; can it laugh?

‘Willy, there's still so much that you don’t fully understand, or know yet,’ Andy’s voice penetrated his now awakened and now deeply fascinated mind. ‘But you will — soon!’

.  .  .  .  .

About a day later, from after Willy was first inducted by Oswald and Andy:

He was back in the Multi-facet room with Andy,

All around Willy the Multi-facet room as Andy had labelled it, began to fade away and Willy was back on the street, His own street:

It was still early in the morning and he was teleported back on that familiar street, it was the one and only place he had made his home: A homeless person will regard the whole lengthy stretch of a street as his home.

He recognised every feature of it, the smell, the signposts the few houses, and a long row of shops.

He even saw Wendy Rivers the kind and extremely hot social worker whom he had previously had a run in with about a year ago. And he kept running into her from there on. An attraction had inevitably been building up between them; but neither was able to make the first move.

Wendy was a mesmerizing brunette, she lived nearby; She was almost 6-foot-tall, she was about 5 foot 9 or 5’10 in height.

Wendy was going towards the direction of the nearby bus stop to go to work, of course she couldn't see Willy standing there watching her with a half smile, because he was using the invisible mode on the Enabler; the wrist watch-like device.

Oswald had taught him a few tricks on the Enabler. No one can see Willy, he was as invisible as the wind.

Wendy was a stunningly hot 24-year-old young brunette, even in the non revealing outfit that she was in, It was easy to know that she had those wonderful curves beneath, just by the way she moved.

Her eyebrows were naturally thin, without the need for the unnatural substitute of a dual thin eye-pencil markings; Her lips were perfect and natural in transparent lip gloss.

The attire that she had on was: A light blue denim crop top, on top of a black spaghetti slip on dress and a tight-stretchy long-sleeve black turtle neck; On her feet she wore a pair of, black toe socks and a pair of black kitten heels; She carried a red handbag with a sling.

In terms of physical beauty, Wendy had it, and in terms of inner beauty she matched her outer beauty as well; It was a pleasing, even symmetry.

Willy had been ashamed that he was a homeless man; he had felt that attaining Wendy was next to impossible,

Now he believed different; He now believed that anything was possible: especially now that he was in those nice black tuxedo and a pair of black shiny new shoes!

Wendy looked towards the direction of Willy and smiled, Willy's heart quickened it's pace, but it wasn't Willy she was smiling at, because he was invisible. Willy turned to see who it was: It was Brett Storm, the new red head guy in the street, he had recently moved into the street; He was handsome and tall, about 6 foot 3 inches tall–and he owned the new restaurant which was also on the street; He had a fancy new red sports car: A Chevrolet– the latest model. But, He had been so mean to Willy previously: When Willy had loitered in front of his restaurant, he called Willy a ‘buster' and told him to clear off.

Does Wendy know how dark Brett's heart was?

Probably not.

But It was as black as coal.

Bret said, “Hi."

Wendy nodded and replied, “Hi.”

“Hey — how about I drop you off to work in my new sports car?” Brett offered suddenly, giving Wendy a smile.

Wendy shook her head, “Thanks a lot, but its ok I'll take the bus.”

She walked past,

Bret stood staring, smiling like an idiot at Wendy's wake, as she walked away.

Willy smiled gleefully, he was pleased that Wendy had rejected Brett's offer; Maybe now was the right time, he himself made a move to seal off something new and wonderful with Wendy.

But then—

He remembered his mission and he frowned:

He fingered the culture tube in his pants pocket.

Oswald's instruction after handing him the tube, was quite clear, totally free of any ambiguity —

He was to release the tube's content to the outside world, and he was to return back to the multi-facet room.

Unfortunately— Willy suspected that all was not going to be well, once that content was released.

It was Pandora’s box, there was no going back once Pandora’s box was open: that was why Willy had to be very careful. He cannot fully trust that all would be just honey and cakes.

.  .  .  .  .

He locked the invisible mode on the watch-like Enabler on his left wrist, and he used the phantom effect on the Enabler; He went through the wall of the public restroom as if there was no wall.

‘Amazing!’ Willy thought to himself.

No one was in the rest room, staring down Willy could see his own arms and legs, clad in the rich fabric of the black tuxedo, his feet wearing a perfect and comfortable pair of black shoes. But, when he stared at the wall mirror; he saw no reflection of himself, because he was invisible to the eyes of the world.

He turned off the invisible mode on the Enabler, this time he could see himself clearly in the mirror,

He realized that he was in a much fitter physical form than what he used to be in previously—

Suddenly the door to his right squeaked open!
