CHAPTER 4

“Miss Claudette? Is something the matter?” Klen immediately takes my attention off my quick reverie.

“I’m sorry, what was that again?” I immediately ask Klen the moment that I get to my senses once again.

It is quite a relief that Klen has not bothered trying to insist me about what it is that I have been thinking about earlier. Instead, it is nice that he just replies, “ well, Ms. Claudette. As I was telling you earlier, that is if you don’t mind me asking, we have received a request coming from the police station inviting you to be the sole survivor of the accident that you and your father went through.”

I can sense that Klen was a little hesitant to tell me all about it. I understand that it might be because he is just being cautious that I might still be in a traumatic situation given the way what happened to me and Claudette’s father.

Too bad that I can’t just easily say that I am perfectly fine. It’s not like I am even the real Claudette Silverstone anyway. As a matter of fact, I was not there during the accident. I never get to experience whatever tragedy happens.

“Why would they invite me, Klen?” I suddenly ask Klen.

For some reason, I don’t understand why the police wanted to invite me. Did something happen that may be connected to the accident and that it also involved Claudette?

Somehow, I suddenly experience some nervousness within me knowing that I just arrived back in the past and now, I am already caught up in this chaos.

Given that this is the case, I can’t just afford to be put into such a mess whatever it is that would put me and all of my plans in jeopardy.

As I am still stuck in my chain of thoughts. Klen immediately barged in to reply to my earlier query, “They just wanted to clarify some incidents concerning the accident, Ms. Claudette. Apparently, it appears that only you could answer their questions since you’re now the only living Silverstone in the whole of Anacortes.” Klen said.

He sounded pretty much like being the only Silverstone left in the whole Anacortes meant like a big thing.

“I see. We should go then.” I told Klen right away.

But all of a sudden, I find that Klen’s eyes grow wide while he stares at me. It is kind of weird how he reacts with my response, but strange since the way he reacts feels like he finds me more odd with his stare.

“Is something wrong, Klen?” I immediately ask since I just can’t handle the long silence between us.

That immediately has taken Klen back to reality. “Oh, well I, I’m sorry miss claudette. This might still be something too hard for you, especially that you’ve just woken up since the accident.”

And that is when I finally realize why Klen is reacting that way. I then realize that I just made a mistake. My soul is inside of Claudette’s body, she has been in an accident and just happens to woke up today.

I should have at least pretend that I am not feeling well. That is so reckless of me. I should be more careful not to cause any more distracting movements, otherwise, these people will certainly start becoming suspicious of me.

Now that I am given another chance to change the path of my unfortunate death, five years from now, I should start to be more careful not put this one last chance in Vain. I haven’t even began any of my plans and so I can’t afford to make any more mistakes after this.

Which is why, I decided to make up an excuse for it instead. “Well, i know but they wouldn’t even stop inviting me for sure had I chose to decline it today.”

“Would you like me to call them over instead? In that way, you wouldn’t have to tire yourself to go there, ms. Claudette.” Klen Suggested.

“No need. It would be better for me to go there. Besides, it would be beneficial for me to recover my memories if I could see something else other than the house.”

“Would you be fine to ride the car again, Ms. Claudette. I wouldn’t suggest that.”

“You sounded like there was even another form of transport other than cars.”

“Oh but Ms. Claudette, your family owns a carriage that we often use during the annual feast.”

Apparently, I don’t have any recollection of this annual feast. I am not even aware of any events that relate to the Silverstones when they were still alive. All that I know is that they once existed and were close allies with the Blue Moon packs.

Fortunate of me that I can use my amnesia reasoning to help me get away from all of these information.

“I’m sorry Klen, I really don’t remember any of the things you just said.”

“Forgive me, Ms. Claudette. I forgot that you temporary lost your memories once again.”

He said it as if there was any more chance for me to even get all of those memories back. It was an impossible hope knowing that I am not even the real Claudette Silverstone in the first place.

I am just in her body, and I am just pretending to be her for the time being until I make all of my plans happen.

Taylor and I are accompanied by Klen as we make a beeline for the police station. They're being extra cautious around me because they decided to get the family carriage of the Silverstones moving instead of the automobile car.

I know that I'm perfectly fine, but I just can't tell them that right now. At this moment, I have to continue doing what I can to keep this roleplay going.

Klen immediately assists me down the carriage as the engine stops at the police station. It made me feel a little awkward at first, since I am not used to getting so much attention in the present.
