Chapter 71

Arielle swallowed hard as her gaze fell on Gun's red lips. She secretly prayed that he would move away from her, for she might not be able to resist the urge to grab the back of his neck and kiss his lips passionately.

"I'm awake now," she said in a soft voice to Gun.

"Oh, yeah," was his short response. But he did not make any effort to increase the distance between them. He did not move away from her and continued to stare at her face as if memorizing every detail of it.

"Oh, yeah." She didn't know why she mimicked what he said. Her brain wasn't functioning properly, so she couldn't think clearly. The only things she could think about were his reddish lips and the rapid beating of her heart.

She silently cursed in her mind when she saw his gaze drop to her slightly parted lips. Her heart beat even more erratically when she saw him swallow and Adam's apple move.
