Ximena’s POV

“Hello, Aunty?” I received a call from Aunt Sadie early in the morning as I was getting ready to go to work. “How are you doing? How is Mila?” I asked.

“We are not fine, Ximena,” she whined.

My heart struck my throat and I had to swallow the lump to compose myself. “W-what happened?” I asked with a shaky voice.

“What didn’t happen, Ximena? We are starving to death and you are married to a rich man. Have you forgotten I arranged that marriage for you? We need money. Send us money. Stop enjoying it alone,” Aunt Sadie grouched.
