As the car drove smoothly down the tarred road, Maddie turned her head to Andrew to receive a smile from him, compelling her to smile back. "Hurry up Matt!" Maddie screamed from outside as she put the last of her stuff inside the boot of the vehicle parked outside her home. Jake Conat had sent the vehicle to them to help them in moving over to his place. The wind was blowing against Maddie's hair causing it to fly all over, even covering her face. She had to reach into her coat's pocket to take out a hair band, which she immediately used to hold her hair up together into a ponytail. She was dressed in a casual wear of pants and a turtle neck sweatshirt, with the coat draped over her body. A few minutes later, Mathew finally came outside dressed in a tracksuit and a hoodie and carrying a single bag. He moved to put it in the boot as Maddie, who had stepped away from the boot, eyed him. "Is that all you are bringing?" she asked him. The bag Mathew had brought outside with him had been quite small, and it was the only bag he was bringing along with him and hence Maddie's question. "Yeah… Everything I need is in there,"

"Wow!" Maddie exclaimed with widened eyes as she took in the overall decor of her bedroom. The room was Chic and Polished yet Simple at the same time. The room was spacious and rugged. The lighting was natural as there were two large windows aligned on both sides of the room with the bed, which had covers and pillows comprising of soft pastels of peach, and mounted right in the centre of the room. A few metres in front of the bed was a desk with a minimal chair giving the vibes of a cozy workplace as a laptop was right on top of the desk with a few books piled by the side, and a flower vase containing fresh flowers on the other side, and just a few metres away from where the desk and the chair was set up was the door which Maddie and Andrew had stepped in from. Not far from where the bed stood, by the side, was another door, leading to the toilet and bathroom. The interior colouring combined peach and white, including the wallpapers. Immediately after dinner, Andrew proceeded to give Maddie a grand tour of the house as per his word which he had given to her earlier, while Jake Conat called Mathew with him to his office study. Andrew started the tour from inside the mansion, from the dining room to be precise. First he gave her a tour of the really spacious kitchen, which was next to the dining room and had high-end gadgets and furnishings. And then they moved to the pantry and then down the hallway to the bend, which led to the living room. The first thing Maddie noticed as they stepped into the living room was the high end materials and finishes, including antique furnitures that provided comfortable seating, elegant side tables and coffee tables, a quite tall bookshelf, expensive draperies and curtains of finest textile, and decorated artworks hung on the walls. The living room like the rest of the mansion had a high ceiling characterised with multi-tiered chandeliers. There was also fairly large windows, which

Jake kept his gaze fixed on Maddie, she stood transfixed staring at him from the distance he had left her. First he pressed his eyebrows closely together in wonderment, and then he cackled a chuckle as a thought occurred to him _ She wasn't hesitating because she was reading another meaning to his request now, was she? "Wait a minute! You are not actually thinking that I am asking you to come with me into my room because I want to be alone with you, are you? Jesus Maddie, you are in no way my class!" Jake's words came as a slap across Maddie's cheek, knives piercing through her heart deeply. And the condescending look he held as he looked at her while sputtering those words was not helping matters. Did he really have to outright insult her by calling her classless? Did her? Maddie raised an eyebrow as she played Jake's words in her head again. What happened to using honorifics with her? He had called her Maddie! Maddie had already turned off the bedside lamp on the bedside table right next to her bed, by the right side, and she had even started to doze off when she heard her phone suddenly beeped rather noisy on the bedside table, the sound jerked her awake. At first, she wanted to ignore the beeping sound, but she had a feeling that it could be important so she reached out for her phone, and when she checked, she saw that she had just received a text message. It was from an unknown number but she knew that it was from Jake. She just knew it was him. He had collected her number back then but he hadn't communicated with her directly. Well, not until now… Her heart pounded wildly against her ribcage as she proceeded to open the text message. It read: "Tomorrow is your first day on the job. Be up by 5am to get ready. The butler will brief you on everything pertaining to Andrew, his daily schedule and everything else. He would also brief you on your job as his nanny." The text ended. A sigh

Maddie felt so warm and full just watching Andrew eat with so much relish that she barely even touched her own food. Andrew's chair was taller than all the other chairs in the dining room so that he could be able to eat comfortably from the table. One thing Maddie had noticed about Andrew was that he usually ate his meal wholeheartedly and she liked it. The sudden beeping of Maddie's phone made her avert her gaze from Andrew to her phone, which she had placed on the table. She checked to see that her brother had sent her a text message. She opened it. It read: "Guess who else has a job now? Me!" He added a winking emoji and a dancing emoji to the text. . "Really? He gave him a job already," Maddie mumbled in surprise and Andrew's head turned to her. "What did you say Miss Maddie?" Andrew asked her as he had clearly heard her saying something but had not heard what she had said because of how low her voice had been. Maddie didn't know how long she spent reading the book she had picked up. It was one of those inspirational novels about success and how to be successful. Reading was one other hobby Maddie had aside cleaning and cooking and since being in the Conat's mansion was most probably going to deny her room to cook or clean, she was grateful that she could at least read. How had they even known to add a stack of books in her room? She wondered. The sudden chiming of the alarm on her bedside table made her to avert her gaze from the book to the clock. She had set an alarm for 12pm so that she could at least go check in on Andrew and know how he was doing and if he needed anything. Closing the book she had been reading, and then making her way out of the room, Maddie made her way to the second floor, pausing by the door of the hall which served as Andrew's classroom.
