Why do we cling to what we loose while we ignore what we still hold?

"Don't be scared. You're safe now." Rowan reassured and I was starting to believe at these two.

"Yup." Aleeza said popping the 'p' as she settled the tray of snacks on the bed in front of me.

I am really hungry. I have barely ate anything from last two days. Even the food Rowan brought me last night didn't do anything for my lost appetite.

But now when I have some hope that I could be safe. Like, maybe, just maybe, I can live. I am suddenly starving.

"This is your room." Aleeza informed me when I took one snack from the tray and put it in my mouth enjoying the crunchy taste on my tongue. I closed mt eyes and devoured the taste of the delicious food.

"Thank you." I thanked her with a genuine smile on my lips. I don't remember the last time I smiled with all those chaos going on in my life.
