The next morning, I got a call from my father. I was drying my hair after having my bath when the call came in so I took it and put it on speaker. “Hey, princess,” my father’s voice filled the room. “How are you doing?”“Hey, dad. I’m alright,” I abandoned drying my hair and took a seat. “How are you and mum?” “All good. That aside, I heard something interesting just now,” my father said. He sounded downtrodden but I didn’t take it to heart. Four o’clock met me dressed casually. As I had a hard time deciding what to wear, I picked something comfortable and kept a jacket at hand. A minute past four, Xander came knocking and I threw the door open while fighting down a goofy smile. “Your heart is beating like crazy,” he said as soon as I opened the door. “Nervous or excited?” “Somewhere in between,” I responded. “Shall we go?” “That’s my line, Selly,” he smiled. “You look beautiful,” he added.
