To Heal His Broken Pieces

Keanne slowly stood up from his seat, just as I started to fall forward, a gulp escaping my lips. His arms wrapped around my shoulders, and he gently pushed me back, till I was lying on my back, my gaze unfocused, my lips parted.

"I shouldn't have let you drink," he said, his fingers moving my hair.

I gave a tipsy chuckle, then forced my self to turn on my side so I was watching him. "Maybe I like it. I won't have to take responsibility for whatever I say tonight."

His eyes darkened a little, and slowly, he lowered himself onto the rug in front of me. There wasn't a lot of space, and I could feel his heat filling me up.

"Why don't you want to take responsibility?"

I shrugged. "Who knows how honest I could get?"

"Why do you think you can't be honest with me?"

I let my gaze focus on him, with a lot of effort, then slowly moved my hand. His face was just within reach, and I let my fingers gently trace his face, my fingers pushing his hair away.
