JUNE

Mark was waiting at the bleachers, playing a video game he downloaded yesterday.

“Knew I will find you here, lazy bone.” I sat next to him, and placed my backpack on his thighs, focusing on the men playing football.

It has been a long time since I saw them playing around like this because I'm either studying or hurrying home to my uncle who doesn't care a shit about me.

He paused his game, “Through with your clarse?” He raised his brows at me.

“Hmm,” I leaned my head on his right shoulder. “What are you doing over here? No more classes for the day?”

“Me?” He chuckled. “You should have known how much I love going to classes. I only attend the ones I feel like attending and leave the rest to the professors.”

“Doh.”

I closed my eyes and allowed the voices from the men playing in the field to wash through me.
