Waiting to Bond

Sigmund's POV

I look at my Luna, her eyes filled with fear as we stand waiting to go into the pack house, ready and waiting for her to decide if she is ready for all this. I can feel that she is ready for me, but I don't know if she is ready for all the responsibility she will need to take on as my Luna.

I now run over a full pack. I run nearly a whole state of a pack. I may not be the official leader yet, but it is in my blood. My father always told me I was different from him, but he never told me why. Now that the seer has made it clearer to me, I am more than happy to make my way over to the other side of this. I want my Luna, but not when she is fearful, or worried.

I let go of her hand and tell her, "We don't have to move right now, we can wait and date a bit. Are you absolutely sure you want to do this?"

Her eyes meet mine as she nods, her hands gripping mine as she nods. "Yes, I am sure I want to do all of this. I really am. I was apparently meant to be yours from the very beginning. I understand why my mom kept me pure, why I was so important in all of this. I know that we have a big job ahead of us..."

I nudge her with my nose as we stand outside the pack house. "Okay. If you say you're ready, I will trust that you are ready. Now, just stick with me and I will get us through this. That said, we will not be sealing our bond tonight. I know you think you're ready, Sophia, but I need to get you used to some things first. If you want to bond in a month, then we will. Right now our mental and emotional bond will just have to work. Okay?"

Her eyes meet mine as she swallows down hard. I can see the doubt creeping up in her eyes. "You don't think I'll be enough for you?"

I pull her close to me, hugging her tight as I whisper, "You are all I will ever need again. I just have a lot of things to get done with the pack. We will need to do this the right way." I pull back and kiss her forehead as she keeps crying. "Let's go to our room and discuss this a bit more, okay?"

She nods, tears still flowing down her cheeks. "Okay."

Her mom bows down as we enter the pack house, never having been welcomed into it. I point them in the direction of the mother in law suite. She grabs Kea's hand and leads him with her, smiling as she goes. I have the trust of the seer, that will go a long with with any non abusive members in the pack. That said, there will be the women who were happy in the old system. They will approach me for favors. I need to sit with Sophia and explain some of these upcoming issues to her, or she will get worried.

I've had issues with other packs in the past, this one is going to take the cake, though. I just know it. I also need to let her know that I too have waited for our bond. She probably thinks that I have had others in the past, but I haven't. I wouldn't do that to my future Luna.

The walk through the building is quiet, and I know the thoughts that are going through her head are a little crazy, but I don't want our business to be pack business, until it has to be. I want this between the two of us. Hell, we may fall right into it, but I want to be sure our first time together isn't ruined, not for either of us. It will be a special date night, on the next full moon.

Hopefully that gives me enough time to get the bad weeded from the good. Too many people are at risk to be distracted right now. When we finally reach our room, I close the door and pick Sophia up, carrying her to the bed, with a smile on my face.

"Sophia, I have a secret. I may be the special Alpha and all, but I have never had sex either. I want you to know that we are meant to be with each other and only each other. I will never seek another, I will never have another, okay?"

When I see the way her eyes light up from on the bed, where I am just now realizing we need to get some new sheets, and blankets, and pillows... I mean they light up, like she is about to shift again. I don't let her, instead I straddle her and kiss her lips to calm her down. "You waited for me?" she asks between kisses as we take a breath. "I can't believe you waited for me, Sigmund. You didn't even know I existed."

I smile down at her as I raise my eyebrow. "You didn't know that I did either. Your mother did, but you didn't I am here for you, Sophia. I am here to be your one and only, forever. I didn't need to know who my love was to be ready for her."

Her eyes glisten as she starts to cry again. This woman and her tears. It really has been an emotional day for her. I kiss her lips again and look at the bed. "We need to get these sheets off of here and get to work on our own bed. This is going to need a good shampooing and all new bedding. We should burn this bedding. I know what my uncle did on this stuff. I can smell him on you. I know what he was going to do to you too."

I take a breath, locking eyes with her as she swallows hard. "He was going to make me..."

I put my finger on her lips and smile. "He could have never made you. And even if he had, I would have been right here to pick up the pieces. Either way, I feel like fate has put us right here, right now, so we can give this our all." She nods, letting me continue, "Now, I want you... Damn do I want you. I want to end both of our suffering, but we need to get this pack in order. There will be women who were with the Alpha, that gross uncle of mine, who will be looking for favors from me. I won't be giving them, but I will be putting them on the lowest of duties."

Her eyes widen as she shakes her head. "But, Sigmund, that might make them bad. It might make them angry. What if it makes them enemies?"

I pick her up and move to a hopefully cleaner spot in the room. "Then we will exile them. We will only kill when it is needed. But anyone can change when given freedom to choose and a good life. We have enough saved from all my years working as a human to be able to never work again. I can bring this pack back to it's former standing."

She tilts her head looking at me curiously. "What was it's former standing?"

I smile as I set her on my lap, while I sit in the office chair. "A standing where we can talk with humans, we can get to know them and be part of their people. A standing where my Alpha standing doesn't mean I'm a bad guy. I will never be like him." I look towards the other office down the hall where I know there is still blood from my uncle drying into the floor. "I am building this pack to be worked into the human lifestyle, not separate from it. Yes, it will take many years, but we will get there, and you will by my all powerful Luna, at my side for all of it. Even before the physical bond is formed."

I watch as she eases into my lap, her eyes falling on the clothes her father wore as she sits on my lap. "They look better on you anyway. But I want you to get out of these and into your own clothes as soon as possible, my Alpha."

The way she says it, has my cock growing, but I just ignore it, content to sit with her in the silence for now. We do need a bed to sleep in and we do need some privacy, but first we have to go out there, united in our plan to present ourselves as Alpha and Luna to them.

I hook my foot around the other chair, dragging it to me as she looks into my eyes. I plop her on the other chair and smile, knowing she will be happy to talk, when she hears my plan.

"I want to seal our bond on the next full moon. I don't want us having sex in front of others, but I do want them knowing it is done. I want a public feast and I want us all united under the full moon." She nods and smiles, really hearing every word I'm saying. "They need to know that we waited for our bond. Knowing this makes them more sure in our knowledge to lead the pack. We haven't experienced each other, but we have experienced life, good and bad. We can lead them and get them to a better place."

Our knees are touching as I sit across from her, looking into her eyes. "You can lead them. I will follow you."

I kiss her forehead, craving her touch, thanks to the bond taking over my brain. "No, Sophia, we will lead them. You and I together. An Alpha, even a born Alpha, who doesn't count on his Luna, is a failed Alpha. That's what my uncle had wrong, that's what many of the packs I took down over the last eighteen years did wrong. They didn't have a mate to count on. They didn't have a love to lean on. All of them thought they could do it alone. And if I hadn't met you, I would have, but now that you're here, I am going to keep you by my side."

She nods, her throat bobbing as she takes in all the information I am giving her. My mind drifts to what I will have that throat doing after we seal the bond. I pull myself out of that thought, when I hear her asking, "Will we be okay? I mean you lead hundreds, thousands of wolves. Why do you need me?"

I kiss her lips this time, trying to fight the desire I have for her. This full moon and our bond pulling the two of us together has me wanting to take her up on her offer to just seal it tonight, but I can't. I want it to be special, so it will be. I take a deep breath in, memorizing her scent as I say, "I need you, because you are my other half, Sophia. I need you, because all of my pack members love the fact that I have led them all these years without taking the many offerings I've been given by humans and weres alike. They knew that I was waiting for my Luna, and now that I've found her, no matter how young she is, I will take her as mine and I won't leave her out of one single choice."

She dips her head as she fiddles with her hands. "So, what if I have an opinion on the timing of our claiming? What if I want it tonight?"

My mouth drops open and I look into her eyes. "Then I would ask you to state your case, Luna. I want it tonight too, but I want to make it special."

Her eyes find mine and it looks like she is gearing up for a long speach...
