Chapter 4 The Most Badass Person

"Look! Who is that woman behind Mr. Hughes? She's so beautiful!"

"Wow, her legs are so toned and straight! I'm jealous!"

"That can't be Mr. Hughes' fiancée, right?"

"How's that possible? It can't be."

Everyone gossiped about Celia's identity. They thought she was a business partner at first. Then, she and Yardley separated to report to the Secretarial Department.

The news spread like wildfire throughout the entire company. The beautiful woman who had just arrived at work with Yardley was his rumored fiancée.

Everyone was shocked. They had no idea a country bumpkin could be so beautiful.

Celia went to the Human Resources Department to go through the formalities. Meanwhile, the four employees of the Secretarial Department were having an animated discussion.

"Celia Stanton is so beautiful! She's even more beautiful than Willow Xanders."

Sabrina Xanthos, the head of the Secretarial Department, looked down with disdain in her eyes. "What's so good about being beautiful? Can a country bumpkin like her be worthy of Mr. Hughes?"

Celia happened to hear those words when she returned. "Are you implying that you'd be more worthy of him then?" she asked, a sarcastic glint in her eyes.

Sabrina's expression hardened as she turned around. She dared not counter Celia's words. After all, the fact that she was Yardley's fiancée was undeniable.

"Mr. Hughes said that you will be treated equally now that you are a part of the Secretarial Department. This is an advertisement that Hughes Inc. is shooting today. I'd like you to be in charge of it."

Celia plastered a smile on her face. She took the documents and walked away.

The three other secretaries huddled back into a circle after she left.

"Is it the advertisement starring Norman Lorimer, Ms. Xanthos? Will Celia mess it up?"

Sabrina's eyes gleamed. Norman Lorimer was a popular male celebrity known for his youth, short temper, and precision. No one could handle him.

"It would be great if Celia messes up the advertisement shoot on her first day," she thought.

Celia was going over the schedule when she noticed the name "Norman Lorimer." She had a feeling she'd heard that name before …

Meanwhile, Yardley's assistant, Yannis Lynch, stood inside his office. He said, "Mr. Hughes, Ms. Xanthos has assigned Ms. Stanton to today's shoot with Norman. Would you like me to change the person in charge to someone else?"

Norman's older brother and Yardley had been close since childhood.

Everyone was well aware of Norman's short temper and difficult personality. There was no doubt that he would torment Celia to no end.

Yardley hesitated for a moment, recalling the woman's words from earlier that day. Then, he said, "That won't be necessary." In hindsight, he was rather pleased with the idea of Celia being tormented.

The advertisement shoot was set to take place at Hughes Inc.

Celia and a few of the employees responsible went downstairs to greet Norman.

Norman stepped out of a black Bentley that had pulled up at the company while wearing sunglasses.

Norman already had tens of millions of fans at the age of 19. His entire demeanor exuded rebelliousness and recklessness.

Celia stepped forward to greet him, "Hello, Mr. Lorimer. I'm the person in charge of today's shoot, Celia Stanton.

Norman couldn't care less about what she had said. He just started complaining, "It's so hot outside, and you guys didn't even bring an umbrella for me! Is the shooting location ready? By the way, go get me a cup of coffee from that café in the city center—"

He was shocked when he glanced at the woman's face. His voice trailed off toward the end.

"Fudge! Celia! Am I dreaming?" He removed his sunglasses, but his eyes were still widened in disbelief. He drew Celia into his arms in excitement. "Celia? What are you doing here? Why are you the person in charge of the shoot? Aren't you supposed to be traveling the world or lying on a king-sized bed right now?"

"Long time no see, kiddo! What did you say you wanted to drink again?" Celia said as she petted his head.

"I didn't say anything! What would you like to drink, Celia? Should I go get it for you?"

The onlookers were all stunned by this scene.

Did Norman just hug Celia? And did she just pet his head in return?

His offer to buy her a drink was enough for them to question his sudden change of personality.

Could he be treating her like this only because she's Yardley's fiancée?

None of this made sense. Norman was known for being arrogant in front of even Yardley himself. He would never lower himself to this state just to please his fiancée.

Truth to be told, Celia and Norman had known each other for about two years. Norman had been 17 at the time, and he was filming in the countryside near Celia's house.

Celia was the one who rescued Norman after he was kidnapped.

Norman couldn't help but marvel as he watched her take down his kidnappers without hesitation.

Celia brought him back to her home afterward, and he was astounded to see the manor. It was larger than anything he had ever seen before.

To Norman, Celia was the most badass person he'd ever met in his life!
