A Walk Out

Christian walked out and about in town, taking in some nice, fresh air as he stretched his arms out. ‘Gotta admit, it really is nice to get some air out here,’ he thought, feeling somewhat relaxed now that he was out, with his head slowly clearing up from his previous thoughts. ‘With everything that went on, I don’t think I ever took a proper break these days. This walk should help perk me right up.’

“Mommy, can we have some ice cream?” he heard, as he turned to see a little boy holding hands with his mother across the street. The child pointing at an ice cream parlor near them.

“You want some ice cream right now? You do remember we have some cake at home, right?” the mother asked.

“The cake will be dessert. I want ice cream! The smooth, cold stuff!”

The mother playfully placed a finger on her chin in thought. “Hmm… I wonder now. Should I really buy you some ice cream?”

The boy looked up at her with pleading eyes. “Please. I’ll help with chores later.”

“Really? And what about your hom

When Christian walked into the cafe, he did not expect to meet one of his people there. Much less with their slave accompanying them. And from the looks of it, they seem to be having a swell time together. A sight that brought disgust down his being.“Mi- I-I mean, boss! Hi. What a… What a lovely surprise, meeting you here,” Retchet spoke first, stuttering as he greeted him. No doubt to keep their occupations secret from the staff members. Rebecca, on the other hand, pursed her lips together and furrowed her brows in a glare. Or at least as close to a glare as she could. “Why hello, dear customer,” an old voice called, grabbing Christian’s attention. “Welcome to Sweet Solitude. I will be with you shortly. Please, by all means, sit wherever you like. I will be with you shortly.”Reminded of what he was here for, Christian decided to put whatever malice he had growing for the pair- for Rebecca- behind him and sat at a table far from them.As they watched him sit at a distance, to both

Today was much like a rollercoaster for Rebecca. One moment, she was ready to succumb to a life of slavery. The next she was given a chance to at least still retain a taste of freedom, feeling pure joy for the first time in a long while, which then ended abruptly by a face from her past. As if that was not enough, the person responsible for her current misery was now helping her against her former bully?“Who the hell do you think you are?!” Julio demanded.“Oh, come on. Surely you have at least some common sense to know when to use your inside voice,” Christian sighed. “This is a cafe. You want to act like some baby, do it elsewhere. Unless if you want us to call the police, that is.”Julio instantly grew annoyed by the threat than he should be frightened. “What was that, you punk?” He was about to raise a fist to punch Christian, only for the half werewolf to tighten his grip on his wrist, forcing the human down to a knee in pain. “Ow, ow, ow!”“The only punk I see here is you,” Chr

  • Shattered Heart: My Owner is the Mafia Alpha   Story Revealed

Rebecca was a bit surprised to hear the response that came from Christian. His mother? It couldn't be his adopted mother he was speaking of, could it? Did he know his birth mom?As though reading her thoughts, Christian took in a breath. "I don't like talking about the past. Mainly because I was still a bit young to remember much of it. I can barely remember her face," he admitted. "The pain, on the other hand... That I can never forget."She shouldn't be curious to know about the past. Not when it was not reason enough to forgive him for what he did to her. Still, he was willing to open up to her about what happened. Perhaps she should give him the benefit of the doubt? Just a small chance to hear him out?"What happened?" she dared ask."About the same thing that happened to you. No... Even worse," he answered, his hold on his canned beverage tightened just remembering the past. Though she noticed the action, having this feeling that she shouldn't push on with this topic, Rebecca w

Rebecca felt as though she shouldn't hear any more of this story. Especially upon seeing how upset Christian seemed the more he talked about the past. About the pain his mother had gone through. She had to admit, compared to her own sufferings, it truly did sound like the woman had gone through true hell compared to her. Sure, she was made into a slave now, but she did not go through what Christian's mom did. Nearly did, perhaps, but he had changed his mind in the end, though she had suffered some injuries still of that event."What happened?" she breathed out.To her slight shock, he explained more of the story. "We were happily living in a new home. At least, I thought she was. Turns out, the real world is crueler than I had realized at the time. Not one of Forrest's servants thought her as anything other than some low-life slave who shouldn't be allowed to step foot in that household."Rebecca was shocked at this revelation. "They... What?""That was just the beginning. They though

When Retchet returned to the hideout to report to Christian after finding where Julio went- the latter who is now at the police station after getting knocked unconscious, walking right into a lamppost of all things, and kept arrested there due to signs of drug activity in his blood- he was met with an unusual sight. That being Rebecca in his Alpha's office, doing some bits of cleaning with his boss, as she sweeps the floor, and he wipes the table. Moreover, the latter was showing no sign of being annoyed even being in the same room as the human girl."Oh, Retchet. Welcome back," Christian greeted."Uh... Yes. Thank you, milord," he thanked, still at a loss with what he was seeing. “Uh… If I may ask, what’s happening here?”Both Christian and Rebecca turned to him with raised brows. “What do you mean? Surely you can see for yourself, can’t you?” the former asked back.“I mean, yes. I do see what I am seeing. What I mean is… I am surprised you two are in the same room together. Doing th

‘He has what?’ Fenris questioned, in the middle of a link with Retchet.‘Believe me, I was surprised, as well. The change was far too sudden and too soon after what happened last. I was not even away for that long for their change to occur. Even if a human’s concept of time is different from us werewolves, I am certain a few hours together shouldn’t be enough to have them make up so easily.’Fenris remained silent as he continued to listen to Retchet. To take in more of what happened to his son. He still couldn’t believe the news he heard. News that were more than good for him, and even more so for his mate once she wakes.Currently, the Alpha was in his room, doing Alpha business, as per usual, when his Beta contacted him. The older werewolf was quite tempted to silence him instantly, knowing it had something to do with his son, assumed it to be more of the Beta’s request to allow Christian to see his mother, when Retchet instead gave him news of a change in his son for the better. • Shattered Heart: My Owner is the Mafia Alpha   Concerns of the Change

Retchet sighed after having that conversation with his Alpha, lying on his bed in mental exhaustion. He truly understood where his leader was coming from, but the way he saw it, this wait has been going on for long enough.‘Even if I do understand the Alpha’s thought process with the situation, now that Christian has eased up a bit-’ Retchet instantly shook his head right then. ‘No, stop Retchet. Don’t go rushing things now. Just because Christian is calmer now, that does not necessarily mean it is safe for him to meet his mother now. As the Alpha said.’Even if the younger Alpha appears to be reasonable now, that means little to assure how, exactly, he would act if Retchet reveals both his mother’s location to him, and how he already knew about it this entire time. Not to mention his connection to Christian’s father… Retchet knew how much Christian despise his birth father. All because of a misunderstanding caused by another werewolf. Two werewolves, to be exact. Of course, that may

  • Shattered Heart: My Owner is the Mafia Alpha   Secrecy Between Two

Rebecca grew confused by Retchet’s words. It was one thing to just tell her that no one else knows about Christian’s past, but why would he be so secretive about it?‘Could it be… do the people know about Christian’s mother, but not his relationship with her?’ she wondered. That was the only assumption Rebecca could think of. Given what Christian told her about the sort of life his mother suffered, it was highly possible that the reason why Retchet was keeping this conversation under wraps was because there are many here who don’t see her in good light.“So tell me first. Exactly how much did Christian tell you about his past?” Retchet asked. “You mentioned the reason why this mafia was formed. Did he tell you that reason, or are you guessing what that reason may be?”“He told me. All I am wondering about is if he told you guys about what he wanted to form this group for,” Rebecca answered, quickly following up with her own reason for asking her question. “I don’t know how it works in

With Christian, as it was in the middle of the day, he has some difficulties slipping through the pack. Thankfully, there was a part of the fence that had a hole in it, big enough for him to go through in his wolf form, and poorly hidden. After that, he had to sneak past the many busy people in the village. They who seemed to be in a festive mood, as was the village itself.'Is there some werewolf festival going on here?' he wondered, hiding in the shadows."I can't wait for the young lord to be here," he overheard a female werewolf spoke. She a teenager, and speaking to some other females her age."None of us can. I still can't believe the Alpha has had a son this whole time, and none of us knew about it," another one of the females stated."I wonder what the son is like. Then again, since he is the heir, he must be someone dashing," another one of them said."Strong, too. He may have human blood running through his veins, but he is still an Alpha rank. Plus, our kind is much more su

At the same time, within Fenris’s mansion, the Alpha was just finished setting up some flowers in a vase on a nightstand right by Christen’s bedside.“What do you think of the flowers today, Christen?” he asked in a low tone, looking at his sleeping mate. “These are daffodils. They are said to symbolize new beginnings. And hope for a bright future. I thought they would be perfect since… Well you know, our son will be arriving today. Though, these probably are not the best flowers to use, considering the state of things.”Despite the words coming out of his mouth, despite how he is speaking to his beloved, as expected, she has not even reacted to a single thing he said. He had hoped that hearing about their son’s arrival would trigger something in her, give him a sign that she will wake soon, at least for the son she gave birth to and raised. But alas, as he feared, there were no sign of improvements at all to her condition.“I wonder if you will at least react to him being here,” he m

  • Shattered Heart: My Owner is the Mafia Alpha   Arriving at the Pack's Perimeter

Some days have passed since Wilford’s group saved Christian and Rebecca from the Neo Krawlers. In the time that passed during their travel to the Diamante Pack, while Christian kept his distance from their werewolf guides around them, Rebecca had been making some small talk here and there with them. If only to help ease tension between him and the rest of the werewolves. Get to know them better so she wouldn’t have to fear them so much. Her opinion of them most especially improved after they managed to find shelter the first night, and one of the werewolves provided proper medical treatment for her leg. She was honestly astonished to learn that even werewolves truly would need to learn some medical knowledge from that werewolf. Namely due to some certain factors that they apparently cannot heal from. “Hoe is your leg feeling, Rebecca?” Christian asked, getting her attention.“Hm? Oh, it’s fine, as far as I know,” she answered. “If anything, I should be the one asking how you are, Ch

  • Shattered Heart: My Owner is the Mafia Alpha   Becoming Traitor

Meanwhile, away from Christian’s group, the pair of werewolves who were sent by Wilford to assist Ratchet and Petra arrived at the area Rebecca had told them they had left them at. A part of the woods that had a large sturdy tree with a hollow opening, and a log that may be close by to it. ‘May be’, considering how Retchet had used it as a club or bat when he helped her and Christian escape. At the very least, the trio would’ve heard a scuffle going about as they approached, only to see no sign of their fellow Diamante werewolf.“Damn it, I think we lost them!” the male with blonde hair cursed.“It was quite the run to here. I’m actually amazed those two made it as far as they did as humans. Especially when one of them was injured and getting carried on his shoulders,” the female werewolf with her blue hair in braids stated. “This is not the time to be impressed. If Retche gets captured by the Neo Krawlers, that would be as bad as any of us Diamantes getting captured. No… It would be

  • Shattered Heart: My Owner is the Mafia Alpha   Refusing to Accept Who His Father May Be

As they walked to Christian’s father’s pack, the Diamante-Krawler Pack- or just ‘Diamante’ Pack- the walk there was quite silent. A bit too quiet for Rebecca’s liking. It wasn’t that she disliked it per say, as it was more that, being surrounded by people who knew Christian’s father, she had thought that Christian would want to know at least a little bit more about the man who gave birth to him. This was especially considering the fact that the bits of things they were claiming about him sounded to be good things. Nothing vile as Christian believed about him. As much as she wanted to know more about him, though, the truth about the father, she also knew that now was not exactly the right time. Not while she was being carried by the half werewolf in the middle of the crowd surrounding them.“You look like you want to talk about something,” Christian said, causing her to flinch.“Was it that obvious?” she asked.“I’ll only answer what I’m comfortable in answering. Anything else- especi

  • Shattered Heart: My Owner is the Mafia Alpha   We Are Your Father's Pack Mates

"Your mother’s name… Is it ‘Christen’?”How Christian’s world seemed to have turned when the question left the older werewolf’s mouth. The one other thing he knew about his mother that a certain handful also knew of. And those handful all hailed in the human world.Or so it should have been, as far as he knew. Unless if any one of Forrest’s werewolves had actually also returned to this world at some point and spoke about his mother to others by name, or Retchet himself for that matter.Rebecca stared at Christian in worry when he froze in stupor like this. Not that she could blame him, going by the expression he had. She certainly was not told by him or Retchet what his mother’s name was. In fact, if he never told anyone about his search for his mother, then chances are that he never told them about her name either. So for this werewolf to correctly guess the name right…“How the hell did you know her name?” Christian demanded, rage slowly building up in him as he slowly came to reali

Christian and Rebecca were at a loss. Standing before them was a small group of werewolves. Though they did not seem to be much of threats to Christian, with Rebecca in his arms, he knew better than to risk fighting against them in this situation.Rebecca also knew Christian was not going to be able to fight against the number. Not while he has her burdening him. This was exactly the sort of thing she wanted to avoid, and now, because of the injury she sustained…“Christian, leave me here,” she told him, to his shock. “Wait, what?”“You have to leave me here. There’s no other way!”Christian was flabbergasted with what she was telling him to do. “I am not leaving you behind!““You have to if you want to find your mother! You need to!” she urged him.Christian was not going along with it, though, as he shook his head in denial. “No way! Now look here-”Before he could say another word, several figures ran past him, much to his stupor. Confused, the pair picked up their heads and looke

Christian and the others could not believe their current predicament. They were only stopping by a nice sturdy tree to take a little break from their walk, when not only did Petra go about insulting humans, but they have found themselves suddenly surrounded by a large number of werewolves. All who seemed to be far from friendly."Who the hell are you lot?" the young Alpha demanded with a growl.Rather than feel threatened by the question, the feminine werewolf sarcastically stated, "Oh, how scary. You growling like that. And they say a dog's bark is worse than its bite?"One of her comrades snickered at the comment. "A dog? When that mutt has human blood running through his veins?"The statement took Rebecca and Christian by surprise. The latter especially, since no other werewolf back in the human world- at least, none of his mafia members- had said anything about him being half human. Then again, earlier the first figure was able to correctly identify their race after she took in th

Hearing her fall caught Christian's ears, as he came to a stop and turned back to her."Hey! No doubt having jabbed into her leg when she fell, as blood leaked out of the wound.Christian also took notice of the injury- in fact, he could smell the blood- and cursed under his breath. "Shit... We don't have time for this. I'm carrying you."Rebecca looked up at him with her eyes slightly wide. "No, you don't need to-""This is not open for discussion!" he cut off, taking the human in his arms and continued on running.
