[RED WARNING]

My barely filled apartment felt so suffocating right now. My things may be at Carlisle’s, but with the tension building between us, everything seemed to hold me on a chokehold.

“Reigna-”

Cutting him off, I kissed him again, venting my frustrations to my actions as I kept him by his collar, a hand on his tousled hair while his large, calloused, hands, were left with no choice but to respond and hold me close, trapping me just right in his arms as he kissed me back with the intensity which makes my head spin.

“Stop pushing me away.” I mumbled after parting away, breathless with my forehead against his. “This is the game you wanted, Carlisle. Let me play.”

As I fumbled with his buttons, he stopped my wrists, lacking force. “Not like this, Reigna. You’re just emotional and-”

“Daddy.” I breathed as I looked up, I didn’t let him finish and just stepped closer, deliberately pressing more to subtly palm his clothed length. “Please, let me.” Unmasking my desperation to be h

Reigna…I was spent.Carlisle leaned back against the driver’s seat, one hand on the wheel and the other resting casually on the gearshift. His hair was slightly mussed from a long day, but the tension that usually creased his brow seemed lighter.Currently, as the sun begins to set, we are on our way back to his penthouse, bringing me home to the place where a little boy is waiting for me.“You’re awfully quiet,” he said, glancing sideways at me.I shrugged, fiddling with the hem of my sweater. “It’s… a lot to take in.”His lips twitched into a faint smirk, the kind that made my heart flip in a way I refused to admit. “You’ve been saying that all day.”“Well, it’s true,” I muttered, looking out the window. “You can’t just waltz into my apartment after—after that—and decide I belong in your penthouse again.”Carlisle’s smirk deepened. “I didn’t waltz. I knocked politely.” His tone is a little playful, a sign that we’ve been patching up the distance I pulled. Which I believe drew me cl

Carlisle“Are you sure you’re fine?”Reigna laughed, her soft voice rang as she exited the elevator before me. “Calmd own, Carlisle. I’m just going back to work. You don’t have to ask me that for eighteen times today.” She smiled, reminding me of how repetitive I am.Currently, we are on our way to the company, with her, as much as I hate to, insisted to go there the usual way—her booking a cab, and I follow behind with my car to avoid suspicions from the employees, and for me to keep her safe at the same time.“But you are carrying a lot of things.” I sighed, slowing down my pace to match hers. “Let me just-”“No.” she denied for the nth time, moving her hands away from mine as I tried to get the box she’s carrying. Apparently, she asked her best friend, Venice, to pack a few of her important things to be sent to her, and now she have to bring it back to the company. If only I could just take it from her, but I can’t make her feel I’m bossing her around like a do— “Okay.” I grumbled,

CarlisleI barely got any sleep last night.Sighing, I blinked away the drowsiness so I could focus on my work. Suddenly, a soft knock on my office door made me glance up from my laptop.“Come in.” The sight of her standing there, her face pale and her hands wringing nervously, caught me off guard.“Carlisle,” Reigna began, her voice unsteady. She didn’t call me “sir” this time—she used to be stubborn on addressing me informally during work hours. That alone made me pause. “I need to talk to you.”“I’m listening,” I said, closing the file I was working on and leaning back in my chair. She stepped inside, shutting the door quietly behind her. Her eyes darted around the room before settling on me. “I... I have a favor to ask.”I raised an eyebrow. “A favor?”She nodded, her fingers gripping the strap of her bag. “My family is hosting a reunion party this weekend, and as cliché as it sounds, I know they’re expecting me to bring my... boyfriend.”The word hung in the air, sharp and heavy

ReignaErwin is asleep in his room, but here we are, seated in the penthouse’s bar and occupied by thoughts that none of us has yet to speak of.I stood a few feet away, watching him from behind as he leaned against the bar, his broad shoulders rigid with an unspoken weight. His fingers tightened around the whiskey glass before he brought it to his lips, taking a slow sip.“Carlise? It’s okay, I will listen about…about whatever runs in your mind.” I finally said, breaking the silence.Carlisle didn’t turn around. “Listen?”I let out a frustrated breath, but chose not to retort in his seemingly disinterested tone. “Yes. About what happened earlier. About Axle. About you punching him.”He exhaled sharply, setting his glass down with a little too much force. “It was nothing.”“Nothing?” I stepped closer, my heels clicking softly against the marble floor. “Carlisle, you punched him in front of everyone. You nearly lost your temper. That wasn’t nothing.”He let out a humorless chuckle, swi

ReignaThe office had never felt so suffocating. To be fair, when I was a kid, I was always told that I am too sensitive and it’ll make everything hard on me. I think I really am sensitive.I sat in our floor’s lounge, fingers frozen over the keyboard, staring at the numbers on the screen that refused to make sense. I had done this report a hundred times before—hell, I could usually do it in my sleep—but today, my brain was sluggish, uncooperative.I exhaled slowly, rubbing my temples. I hadn’t been able to focus all morning. Ever since last night. Ever since... him. Last night. The memory of Carlisle’s arms around me, the warmth of his breath against my skin, the way he had held me—not out of obligation, not out of a game, but out of something real—it lingered, messing with my head in ways I couldn’t afford. And now, I was paying the price.I wonder what I really am to him…"Miss Amethyst?"I flinched at the sound of my name, my eyes snapping up to see one of my coworkers, Patrick, s

ReignaThe city was alive with the quiet hum of passing cars, the distant chatter of evening pedestrians, and the occasional rustle of leaves in the crisp evening air. I sat on a worn wooden bench in the park, staring at the pavement as if it held all the answers I couldn’t find.I should’ve gone home.Carlisle had told me to. But after everything—after the disaster at work, after his confusing words, after the way his arms had felt around me—I couldn’t bring myself to return to an empty apartment.I needed air. I needed distance."Miss Reigna?"I jumped slightly at the familiar voice.Turning my head, I saw a petite figure standing a few feet away, blinking at me in surprise. Nanny Lucy. She was still in her university uniform—white blouse, navy skirt—her backpack slung over one shoulder. Her red hair styled in curls were tied up in a messy ponytail, and her face, always so warm and gentle, was filled with concern."Lucy?" My voice came out softer than I intended. "What are you doing

ReignaCarlisle Amoroso was impossible. The moment I stepped into the office that morning, I knew something was off. He wasn’t his usual, cold and calculating self—he was worse.I should’ve seen it coming. He had not forgotten about last night, about me staying out late instead of running home like a good little secretary. And now, he was punishing me the only way he knew how—by making my day a living hell."Miss Amethyst," his voice rang from his office for what felt like the tenth time that morning.I exhaled sharply before stepping inside. "Yes, sir?"He barely glanced up from his screen. "Redo the meeting minutes from this morning."I frowned. "Redo?""Yes," he said flatly, still typing. "They don’t meet my standards."I folded my arms, staring at him. "Sir, I wrote them exactly how you—"Carlisle finally looked up, his stormy gray eyes locking onto mine, sharp as steel. "Are you questioning my instructions?"I gritted my teeth. "No, sir.""Good. Have it done in twenty minutes.""

Reigna“Deep breaths, Rei. Deep breaths.” I mumbled to myself.Carlisle had never looked this fragile before. His usual imposing figure was reduced to something completely still, his body slumped against the couch in his office, face flushed from fever, breaths slow and uneven despite falling asleep, all because his temperature spiked after an hour of finding him sick.I knelt beside him, carefully pressing a damp towel against his forehead, feeling the heat radiate from his skin like a furnace. Even in his sleep, his brows furrowed, as if even sickness wasn’t enough to rid him of his perpetual state of frustration."Idiot," I muttered under my breath, adjusting the blanket over him with delicate fingers, making sure it covered him properly. "You run an entire company, handle million-dollar contracts, and yet, you can’t even take care of yourself properly."I’m scared. For him. This is just a fever but I could barely stop myself from crying.Carlisle stirred slightly, his lips parting

ReignaThe morning sun poured over the island in golden streaks, casting a warm glow over the sprawling estate that housed the guests of the charity gala. Everything looked postcard-perfect—the blue waves lapping at the white shore, the distant hum of morning chatter from the estate’s balconies, the glint of silverware catching the early light as staff prepared the grand breakfast buffet. It was beautiful. But it was suffocating.I sat at the edge of my bed, staring at the elegant resort robe draped over my shoulders. I hadn’t slept much. The weight of the previous night still sat heavy in my chest, pressing against my ribs like an ache that refused to fade.Carlisle had played his part to perfection. And I had stood beside him, smiling, nodding, pretending like his words didn’t carve into me.I exhaled sharply, pushing the thought aside. There was no point in dwelling on it. We had agreed to this. I knew what I signed up for. It wasn’t supposed to hurt.A sharp knock on my door snapp

The golden chandeliers above us flickered, casting an ambient glow that reflected off the sea of designer gowns and tailored suits. The auction had ended, but the night was far from over.Just a few hours more and maybe we could finally leave. I sat beside Carlisle, the taste of champagne still lingering on my lips, my fingers absently toying with the rim of my glass. My pulse had only just begun to settle after the tense exchange with Axle, but the weight of the evening still pressed down on me.This entire night had been suffocating. The scrutiny. The whispers. Carlisle“Are you doing fine?” I asked, glancing at her.Reigna hummed in response as she sat across from me, her gaze fixed on the open book in her lap. She wasn’t reading it—her eyes weren’t moving, and her fingers were gripping the pages too tightly. I knew she was nervous. The charity gala was supposed to be a platform to clear her name, a public display to shift the narrative, but it also meant walking into a lion’s den. The press would be relentless, the socialites unforgiving. And I had to be the cold, distant bastard they expected me to be.I took a slow sip of my whiskey, watching her beneath hooded eyes. She hadn’t spoken much since we boarded, but I could feel her unease. The moment the plane landed, my guard was up. “Remember what I told you before, princess?” before I stood up, I turned to face her, gauging her delicate features laced with anxiety.“About what?” she breathed, clearly intoxicated by the upcoming social battle. After a few moments, a hint of recognition is

Reigna“Say goodnight to mommy, little brat.” Carlisle grinned as he took Erwin away from my lap, earning us an ear piercing screech.“NOOO!”Laughing, I closed the story book and stood up to cup the little boy’s cheeks and kiss his forehead. “We’ve read two stories already, sweetheart. You have school tomorrow.” I tried to explain while caressing his cheeks, but he only pouted with a huff, crossing his cute little arms.“But how come dada gets to spend more time with you? He have work too!” he reasoned, making Carlisle and I blink and then look at each other, and before we knew it, we chuckled.“Well,” not knowing what to say, I smiled and turned to Carlisle, wanting him to explain on our stead.“Because adults get to sleep later and children don’t.” with his believable tone laced with his ‘no-more-questions-to-be-asked’ vibes, Erwin stared at him for a while before dramatically sighing.“Okay, goodnight, mommy.”***While Carlisle is working in his study room, I stayed inside while

CarlisleThe city lights flickered beyond the glass walls of my penthouse, a quiet hum settling in the space around me. It was past midnight, and yet, sleep was the furthest thing from my mind.“You’ve been drinking often, Carlisle.” I am too accustomed of her voice that I didn’t turn around—instead, I just savored the feeling of knowing she’s right behind me.“I need a break every now and then, princess.” I stood by the bar, a glass of whiskey in hand, the amber liquid swirling slowly as I stared at nothing in particular. My thoughts were a mess, tangled in things I didn’t know how to name, things I didn’t want to name.I had spent years building my walls, perfecting the art of control, of detachment. But lately, it felt like I was slipping, like something—or someone—was slipping through the cracks.“I don’t know what I should do to help, but I also don’t want to leave you alone either.”And that someone is here in my penthouse, unaware of the way she was pulling me under.I exhaled

Reigna“Mommy, I don’t really hate this, but why are you always h-”“-Happy to see him draw a family portrait.” Lucy cut off, chuckling nervously as she covered Erwin’s mouth. “That’s what he wanted to say, hehe.”I smiled, nodding at her given that I understand her—Erwin was supposed to ask why I’m always home, after all.Three days had passed since Axle showed up at the penthouse, and I hadn’t seen or heard from him since. Not that I expected him to stay quiet for long—he was stubborn like that, always believing he had a right to my life just because he was once a part of it. But right now, I had more important things to focus on.I leaned against the counter in the penthouse kitchen, staring into my untouched cup of coffee, the rich aroma doing little to soothe the tension knotting my shoulders. Carlisle was at work, and for the first time in days, I finally had a moment to breathe.Except, I wasn’t breathing. Not properly, at least. My mind kept circling back to the things I could

Reigna“Princess, if you’ll leave without permission, I’m locking you inside.”The penthouse was silent.Too silent.I shifted on the couch, staring at the ceiling, the weight of the afternoon pressing down on me like a heavy blanket I couldn’t shake off. Carlisle had left for work early, brushing his lips against my forehead with a whispered, Stay home, princess, please. Erwin had pouted the entire way out the door, clearly unhappy that I wasn’t coming along to watch him get on the school bus.And me? I was stuck here. The realization made something itch beneath my skin.I had tried to argue this morning, had insisted that I was fine, that I could go to work like any normal person would after a scandal, a confrontation with their ex, and an emotionally exhausting night. But Carlisle had simply given me that sharp, unyielding look of his—the kind that made resistance feel utterly useless—and said, You’re staying home today. And just like that, my fate had been sealed.I sighed, shift

CarlisleThe morning light spilled through the curtains, casting a soft glow over the penthouse. The city outside was already alive, the faint hum of traffic a distant backdrop to the quiet within. I had been awake for hours, my mind restless, my body tense. Sleep had never come easily for me, but last night, it had been damn near impossible. Not with Reigna so close, her presence a constant reminder of the storm circling us.I sat at the dining table, flipping through the morning paper, though my eyes barely skimmed the words. My focus kept drifting back to the woman still asleep in my bed—our bed. She hadn’t protested when I told her to stay. Hadn’t argued or insisted on going back to her room. Instead, she had simply curled up under the blankets, exhaustion claiming her before she could think twice about it.A part of me wanted to check on her, to make sure she was still there. But I forced myself to stay put, fingers tightening around the coffee mug in my hands.“Sir?”I looked u

ReignaThe silence stretched between us, thick with unspoken words and unanswered questions.Carlisle’s silver eyes locked onto mine, his expression carefully controlled, but I could see it—the storm brewing beneath the surface. He was waiting, waiting for me to speak, to give him something, but my throat felt tight, my hands cold despite the warmth of the penthouse.I exhaled slowly, forcing myself to focus. "Someone called me again today." My voice was quieter than I intended, but I pushed through. "Twice. But it was about a different matter this time."Carlisle’s jaw ticked, his fingers flexing at his sides. "What did they say?"I hesitated. How was I supposed to explain the creeping dread, the feeling that no matter what I did, I was always a step behind whoever was pulling the strings? I swallowed hard, fingers curling into fists at my sides."They said I shouldn’t get too comfortable being Erwin’s mother," I admitted, keeping my voice even. His entire body stiffened, his posture
