The sun rises from the horizon, but I can see dark clouds slowly looming over the mountains. I have a feeling that today would be a very long day.It was the day of the tournament and I can’t help but be nervous. I know that we don’t stand a chance but at the same time the competitive side of me didn’t want to lose. My team and I pour our hearts into our training but I have to admit that we still have a lot of things that we needed to learn. And I know in time we can all get stronger.“You okay?” DK asks, pulling me out of my thoughts as he drives us to the training academy.“Just nervous, I guess,” I replied. “I believe in you,” DK replied with a smile, “I know that you can win the tournament,” he added.“Don’t flatter me,” I said, “You don’t have to flatter me.”“You know that I don’t really need to do such a thing,” DK replied, but instead of answering him back, I just looked out of the window and watch the trees that passes us by until we reached the place of the tournament, t
It’s been weeks since the match I had with Uncle Calvin. And boy did it get me so much trouble. Even though Uncle Calvin took most of the blame, Still, I was not free of the punishment. Especially my jumping-over-the-window antic. I was part of the Elite warriors and doing such a thing sets a very bad example. Because of this, Alpha Drake was forced to ground me from going to the Training Academy. It took me almost four days for my body to heal, including some broken ribs. I found out later, when Uncle Leon visited me, that Uncle Calvin cast a spell on the bond that he made with me. Which didn’t allow just anybody to go into the ring and stop the fight. He also said that Anya’s action didn’t mean a thing. That she was just doing it out of the friendship that she had with me. But still, a small glimmer of hope lighted my dark heart. While I was grounded I was not permitted to go anywhere else but the pack house and my home. Which is why I decided to pay my biological parents a vi
I can still remember how many times I have prayed for this moment to come. To ride Mikey's back again just like before. I can still remember the excitement I feel every time I think about it. I was just not expecting that things would turn out this way. ‘Hold on tight Little Wolf,’ Mikey said through the mind link as he continue to run. ‘Mikey, Anya,’ I heard my father’s booming voice through the link, ‘Find another route, stay away from the control tower, it’s not safe here,” He added. ‘Mikey,’ his voice became serious, ‘Take care of my daughter,’ and then the line went silent. ‘Dad!’ I shouted as I try to reconnect the line, ‘Dad!’ But there was no response. Mikey didn’t say anything, he just keep on running and followed what my father said. He changed his direction and started running away from the control tower. Which meant that we would be going deeper into the forest. As much as we want to go to the pack house we won’t be able to because there was only one way to go there
I woke up just before the sun rises and found Mikey still awake. He was seated at the same spot as last night, guarding the door. I look at his face to find some hints of his thoughts but I can’t find none. I guess he is back to the old Mikey that I know who is so good at hiding his feelings and his thoughts. I can’t help but wonder how he took what I said. Is this really how we end?The sound of the phone ringing broke the heavy silence that hung over us.Mikey stood up as he answers the phone and walk outside. And when he came back I slowly sat up to let him know that I was awake. “Good morning,” he greeted with a smile. “Good morning,” I replied. I look at him as he rummage through his backpack and took out some nutribar.“Is this okay for breakfast?” He asks and I nodded, as he walks towards me to hand me one.“I receive a call from your father,” Mikey said as he sat in front of me, “It’s safe to go home now,” he added as he opened the nutribar in his hand and started eating
Once we got home, I found out that there were a lot of warriors that ended up getting hurt but thankfully they were able to minimize casualties and damages.Because of the surprise attack, Uncle Drake requested a meeting that consists of his few trusted people, and most of them are those he considered as family. When I reached his office, Aunt Athena cast a spell that would seal the room from the inside. No one uninvited will be able to enter and no one outside will be able to hear anything that was discussed from the inside. Those in attendance are Aunt Nikki, Uncle Calvin, and Uncle Leon, and to my surprise, even my father was there. “It’s been a while since we have encountered rogue wolves,” Uncle Drake started to say, “But what happened yesterday was something that was definitely planned.” “Someone in our pack is using black magic,” Aunt Athena said. “I set up a shield for the tournament area and upon investigation, someone destroyed a part of that shield from the inside.”“Ha
DK has not spoken to me ever since I came home. But that doesn’t mean that he didn’t care. He became more cautious and alert ever since the attack and even asked my parents to let him stay closer to me to ensure that he will be there to save me when needed. They say actions speak louder than words. Then DK definitely showed through his actions just how much he cared. The truth is, he was more actions than words because he haven’t said anything to me since I came home. And I never asked because I was afraid of the questions that he would ask back.I would have understood him for not speaking to me for one day, but this is the third day now. I have to admit that DK was so good at doing his part that no one noticed that there was something wrong with us. As for me, I already had enough of the silence and enough of walking on eggshells around him. That’s why I was preparing myself to talk to him after our training today. This was the first day that I will be back at the training acade
DK left Purple Hill after what had happened in the car. My father told me that DK called him before leaving Purple Hill’s border. He also said that DK didn’t tell him the specifics, instead, he apologized for not being able to be with me during these crucial times. I told my dad that DK asked Chloe to take me home on his behalf because something urgent came up that needed his attention. My Dad didn’t bother asking anything more than that but I know that Chloe wouldn’t just let this pass. Chloe followed me to my room and waited until I closed my door before asking me the question that I didn’t want to answer. “I know that it’s none of my business but,” Chloe started to say as she glances at me as I sat on the couch by my window. It was the usual Chloe disclaimer that I am used to. The line she usually uses to test my mood before asking the question that doesn’t need to be asked and yet she still asks because of her concern for me. “Did you and DK fight?” She asks as she sat beside
Everything happened in a blur one moment I was inside my car and then I was not. I can hear busy people around me, and I can hear the sound of panic in their voice and then everything turns black once again. The next time I opened my eyes, I see white lights flashing above me with people surrounding me. I can hear their voice but I don’t recognize them except for one. I can’t see him but I can hear him calling my name over and over again. My body felt heavy, just like my eyelids, and once again all I see was black. I hear voices not far from where I was but I can’t understand what they were saying. I try to move but it feels like my body has been frozen into place, and yet I feel the pain all over my body. I wanted to scream, I want to shout all my pain away. But it seems like my lips were sealed together. I tried to open my eyes but then all I see is darkness and as I try to find and see the light darkness lured me to follow it instead, making me lose consciousness once again. The
