Trinity POV

I stare across to the end of the hospital bed at the older woman. My throat tightens as she repeats her question. “When you got to the spot where you thought you heard the call for help, what happened?”

I shake my head. “I didn’t get there. Somehow, on my way while running in the direction of our pack’s unique call, several werewolves jumped out and blocked me right after another call rang out, which had suddenly jumped to a short distance from me.”

My heartbeat quickens as the scene plays out in my head.
