9-VIVIENNE

It was nine a.m. when I finally left the clinic.

I was physically and emotionally exhausted and this exhaustion didn’t let me think clearly.

I felt hurt and rejected after the treatment I received from Jacob this morning, but in part I couldn't blame him because I was the one who lay down next to him, I was the one who sought his warmth and hugged him all night and I was the one who started touching him as I pleased while he slept.

And I definitely owed him an apology for all of the above, because he’d simply stayed with me to keep me company as a friend, not for me to use his body as I pleased when he was most vulnerable.

So, I stopped one of the workers who was helping Kristy with some supplies boxes at reception to find out where the man in question was.

“Hey, Carlos, good morning, have you seen Jacob?”

“Hey Vivi. I think he's near the lake. It’s been raining since last night and some areas got muddy and there are some animals trapped.”

Great, now was raining.
