Almost losing my grip on the weapon due to fear that someone might have caught me snooping around.
"Nothing uhmm," I quickly answered, fumbling for words as I placed the revolver back in its original position and putting the box back into the drawer. I tried acting like nothing happened even though I had been caught."If nothing, then what the hell are you doing in here?" The person that had scared me was none other than Heather kings."Sir Bryan ordered me to start a clean up for a party later this evening," I replied, my voice barely audible to myself but I knew the message was passed across to her super hearing."Then why are you just standing there?" she asked as she waltzed through the room, not really caring about me in the slightest. It looked like she was searching for something.I quickly resumed my work as I was almost fiinshed with the office anyway, I walked over to the doors with my cart."Finally," Heather said, pulling out her phone from the sofa. She turned her gaze towards me before a wicked grin spread across her face."You know you can't have something like that," she began to speak as she advanced closer to me, the smile still present in her lips."Oh don't act so shy now, I saw the way you looked at him earlier when . . . , you know . . ." Her grin stretched wider. "He and I were getting it on."She wasn't wrong though, I've had a secret crush on Bryan since I could think for myself, always checking him out from afar, wishing I could talk with him, I even prayed to the moon goddess to let us be soulmates."Oh, look at your little red face," she cooed mockingly as she was now in front of me. The smile on her face had disappeared, she took a strad of my shirt locks and tucked it behind my ears as she grabbed my neck harshly."You are so pitiful, let me just break it down for you, Bryan would never in his entire life want someone as miserable and bad looking as you do, really disgusting to think about it." Her hands trailed from my neck to clasping my jaw which was a little relief because I had thought she wanted to unalive me slowly but then, her fingers on my jaw began to grow tighter.I yelped as I felt a sharp pain, she must have extended her claws a bit."The only way you can ever have someone like Bryan is in your wildest dreams," she whispered before letting go of my chin.I dropped to the floor as my legs felt like jelly from fear."You can get back to work, Hannah," she laughed as she exited the office.I wiped the little tears that had formed as I got up and got back to work. What was I thinking anyway, he was the future alpha and I was just a crappy, weak, lazy, ugly old Hannah, everyone would laugh if they knew I had a crush on him.At least I still had hope though, my birthday is in a week's time. Maybe the moon goddess could shine a little bit of light upon my dull life— Someone that can take me away from this hell of a pack. That person was my last hope, I would have left the pack if I wasn't so weak, the rogues would have killed me without too much stress, plus I had nowhere else to go. ~~~It took me a while before I had cleaned up the pack house for the party, it was already time for the party and I knew that Bryan wouldn't want me here nor would anyone at all.Returning my cart to the kitchen where I stunned upon Mía and Amy, Heather's two minions. They had pitiful smiles on their faces when they saw me entered the kitchen, Heather must have told them.Ignoring them was my plan but it seemed they had other plans when I became their topic of discussion, they didn't bother to keep their voices any bit lower, wanting me to hear their thoughts."It is quite pitiful isn't it Amy, Bryan would probably throw up if he heard about this," Mia said as they both laughed at the joke, me."I wonder how someone would ever want that," she stretched out her well manicured fingers, referring to me.I knew I was not perfect, they helped me with this knowledge every single day so I didn't think too much of it.I did not wait to listen to more of their taunts as they kept coming at me with their words. I quickly made my way out of the pack house when I bumped into Bryan. It was dark out so I couldn't really see that well. "I'm sorry sir, I wasn't looking where I was going." Even if I did I would have still bumped into him because I couldn't see properly as my head was always bowed to the ground. He was dressed up casually for the party, a button up shirt which had two buttons loose and jeans. He was looking alright, like he did anytime of the day."Hope you're all done?" He asked with a look of disgust in his eyes as he wiped himself off of me."Yes sir, I'm fine with everything." My answer was short as I did not want to give a full detail of what I had done nor did he want to hear any of it when he sidestepped me towards the house but not before saying, "Good job, now get lost." Without even a glance back at me as he made his way further into the house. That was just his way of telling me he didn't want to see me around the party , like I would if I was invited but I've never liked their parties. The one time I attended, I was the center of attention as they mocked everything about me, my brothers headed that one.I managed to walk my way home in the dark as I hadn't brought my phone out with me, the street lights provided a bit of light though.I entered through the doors of my home, when the scent of food hit me hard, my stomach grumbled and I realized I haven't had anything to eat since morning."Hannah, is that you? I'm in the kitchen," my mother yelled out for me to come."I was hoping you'd show up by this time," she said, knowing I wouldn't be invited to the party just like Kyle and Kaleb were."Perfect timing," she beamed as she set the last wares on the table . It was a dinner for two as I knew my step brothers were not coming back today, that I was relieved about. They were attending the party as they were part of Bryan's circle of friends. My stomach growled even louder as I looked in from the entrance of the kitchen, which made my mother chuckle and ushered me in. "Come sit down, let's eat."I walked in and took a seat, she kept smiling at me when she started a conversation. "I know you've been working all morning and I thought to make dinner when you got back, just the two of us.""Look, I know you've been having a rough time here in the pack, as your mother I should be there for you and I'm sorry I'm not always," she started to apologize which would make me tear up so I stopped her using the food as an excuse that they'll get cold. She only chuckled before we started to dig in. My stomach finally getting what it wanted made a few soft noises. My mother commented after I had finished my plate. "You must be really hungry, here are some more." She filled my plate back up to which I was grateful for.Once we finished eating, I offered to do the dishes just to show my appreciation but she wouldn't let me."You've been working all morning, you need rest okay." She said taking the plates from my hand. "Why don't you go upstairs, I'll handle these."I hugged her from behind. "Thanks mom," I said before making my way to my room.I laid down in my bed for a while before grabbing my phone which I barely use as I haven't the time any day. I had no friends so there were no text messages, no calls. And so my mind wandered to the life that I was living. My mother was the only one I had and I was thankful she was there. My father had died when I was little, he was also good to me as well, my brothers, they have not always been this mean, at least then, they played pranks but now it was like they were after my life. The only reason why they haven't killed me yet was because the pack didn't condone killing of its members.I sat up and walked towards the window, gazing at the sky which taunted me as it had all these stars that brightened it up while I had none.My birthday was something I both wanted and dreaded. At least I'll be able to find my soulmate, my other half, the one who would brighten my dull black sky or at least that was how my mother explained it. I was also scared of the fact that whoever it was would see me and not want anything to do with me, just like the rest of this pack.At that time I didn't know if I wanted to continue living or not. There was a knock at my door which halted my train of thoughts. "Hey, you okay?" My mother asked from the other side of the door before pushing it open."I'm okay," I reassured her."Okay then, goodnight, I'll see you tomorrow." And with that she was off to bed.I smiled at the fact that she still came to check up on me once more.I laid on my bed, sleep avoiding me as I felt weird all over, for a few hours I tossed and turned but couldn't seem to fall asleep. Grabbing my phone, I checked the time which read 11:52 almost midnight.I made my way downstairs to grab a glass of milk which should help when all of a sudden this amazing scent hit meThe glass in my hand had fallen from my grasp but that wasn't a matter at all.It smelled of forest after a rainy day and with coffee.Stepping out of the house, I sniffed the air once more, taking in this wonderful fragrance as it seemed to pull me towards a particular location.Few minutes later, I was standing in front of the pack house, my mind still clouded by the soft odor, the pack house was lighted up, music blasted the air and all I wanted to do was return back to the confinement of my room but then I would miss an opportunity of finding the source of this strong scent.Once I entered the pack house which was now packed with teenagers, red cups in hands, flashing lights as the music boomed. Even with the smell of sweat and alcohol, it didn't cover up the fragrance that led me there. As I pushed my way further towards the center of the house, something drew me closer, they seemed to be parting for me at this point until finally I came upon Bryan and heather. They were tangled up as they swayed with the music, their bodies pressed tightly against each other.Once I was at least ten feets away, the words left my mouth before I could think of what I was doing. And for the first time I growled."Mine."Hannah's pov: I stared at the look of shock on Bryan's face which gradually morphed to one of disgust and hate. There was silence all over, the music had died down, you could hear a pin drop as everyone anticipated what next.I couldn't believe I finally found my mate, I didn't even have to leave the borders of Raven falls pack. I did not expect 'HIM' to be my mate, my expectations dwindled as the silence was drawn out.Heather already had a smile on her face as she looked upon Bryan, like she knew what was coming next. The hand that was wound around her was released as Bryan took a step forward, and another, and another until he was only a foot away from me.He was so close I could feel his hot breath fan my face. I wanted to revel in that moment but I knew it wasn't going to last long.Staring into his blue eyes, the disgust was clearly evident."There is no way a weak, pathetic, ugly slave of a mutt is my mate," he spat bitterly in my face.Tears were already brimming in my
Hannah"When do you think she will come through?" A female voice asked, a bit concerned and I wondered who it was. I've never been shown that kind of concern with my mother being an exception."I don't really know, it's only been a few hours after the surgery, it all depends on her though, she's a werewolf, we shouldn't be too worried. I don't know how long she's been out there though." A male voice answered, this one sounded closer to me than the latter."Who would do such a thing like this? They could have killed her." The first voice queried, concern evident in her voice."Maybe that was their intention in the first place." The one closer to me said softly, with a sad voice. "It's a miracle that they found her in time, if not I don't think we would have helped her.""I pray she comes through though, no one deserves to be treated this way, no matter the crime." The lady said."Oh she will, this one's a fighter." The man assured me.They continued to converse about other things which
Hannah: I hadn't seen Tyrell for almost a week since the last time I saw him, after he had threatened me with one of the most deadliest poisons to wolves ever, wolfsbane.I was so scared that he might have actually done it, I had to constantly look out for him just incase, even though the doctor had assured me that he convinced the alpha to not use violent means, that didn't stop me from looking over my shoulder every now and then, this was an unknown territory after all and I was new here.Doctor Riley had shown me where the bathroom was which contained basic necessities I could use, like toothbrush, paste, scrubs and the rest. I was always in a hospital robe everytime I had to freshen up.Today was no different than other days, it had become my routine for the past week. I had been cooped up here day and night. The nurse, whose name was Kiera, came in today, dressed in her light blue scrubs. She was the only one who attended to me.She always struck up a conversation to know
Hannah: The door burst open and the doctor walked in. Once he saw my scared look, he looked towards Tyrell and then down to the vial he was holding."Beta Tyrell! You cannot do this without Alpha's knowledge," Doctor Riley said as he shielded me from Tyrell. They had a mini stare off, until finally Tyrell saw a reason not to kill me, yet.Putting away the vial, I saw Doctor Riley take in a deep breath of relief.Tyrell, using his hands, shoved Doctor Riley softly toward the side as he walked towards me."I know you're lying, or maybe not telling the full truth, but I will get it out of you, you are not about to destroy my pack once again." Tyrell was using the Beta voice which forced me to look at him.The pressure weighed me down, the fear in my heart intensified as I tried to control my breathing which I had calmed down when Doctor Riley had entered. We stared at each other for a few seconds like he was trying to remove the answers from my sight, I was afraid he might if that
Hannah: "What?" Cleo asked, looking confused."What do you mean you can't shift?" She asked again as she snatched the notepad from my grasp, taking in the words like she couldn't understand. They were looking at me like I had grown an extra head."Aren't you like . . . . older than fifteen or . . . something?" Riley rounded the kitchen counter cautiously as he asked.I grabbed the notepad from Cleo's hand and scribbled down, "I only just turned eighteen." I skipped the part where I had already found my mate and the whole story down as it wasn't really important.A person is to turn at the age of fifteen, when mine came, nothing really happened, it just . . . .passed.They all stared in silence, before Riley cleared his throat to dismiss them."Well, it's really not that strange, some even take longer before they turn, maybe that's your case as well?" He asked, not really expecting an answer.I noticed the look on Tyrell's face, it was strange seeing a confused look on his face, like
Hannah: I woke up the next morning feeling a bit groggy. I walked out of my room and the house was a little too quiet and into the hallway that led to the bathroom, it was full dark out, most people haven't woken up yet.I've always woken up early, Alpha's orders. I was to carry out the chores in the pack house and be able to finish them each day, so I had to start early.I remembered I wasn't in my former pack and there was nothing for me to do. I walked to the bathroom which looked surprisingly furnished to fit a woman's taste. Taking out a new toothbrush, I couldn't help but wonder if Tyrell onced lived with a woman. Erasing that thought, I began to brush my teeth.Looking at myself in the mirror, my appearance wasn't that good looking, although that was what others had said at my former pack, and I only went along with it, I mean if I was pretty, I don't think they'll treat me so shitty.I was done brushing, I took off the hoodie and pants I wore to sleep and placed them neat
Hannah: The man who had spoken, which I presumed to be the Alpha, had frozen in place for some reason when he looked at me.I noticed a lost look in his eyes before I casted my gaze downwards so as to not disrespect him.He cleared his throat before he spoke again. "A very vibrant color you have chosen for your hair, any particular reason?"I only shook my head as I had not brought with me, my notepad and pen."Hm, yes, I heard you cannot make use of your voice, a shame really." He sighed. "You are from the Ravens fall pack, are you not?" He asked loudly now.I could feel the same pressure I felt earlier, weighing me down, forcing me to speak. I tried but I could only nod my head to answer his question. Cleo was wrong, they were all the same. Exacting fear into their subjects, showing their dominance. My heart was racing now, was he going to kill me for being from another pack? There was a soft knock at the door."What is it?" The alpha called out, sounding a tad bit irritated
Hannah: "Like I said before, I do not have time to introduce you personally to the pack, it's a good thing, Miss Carter is here, she can help you with what you need." Alpha Daniel said.He turned towards Cleo. "You're helping her get situated in one of the rooms in the pack house, a few clothes will be nice as well." And with that, he also was off, leaving just me and Cleo in the forest."That was fast, normally it'll take a longer, more boring speech." She pondered for a bit. "Count yourself lucky, you don't have to go through all that."I didn't know what to think about it, as this was my first ever initiation. But I was not expecting the blood part a bit, I wish someone would have told me what to expect though."Shall we go over to the pack house now?" She asked, as we were the only ones in the forest circle, there was no point in us being here any longer.I nodded, we both made our way to her car and began our drive back to the pack house. While on the drive, Cleo started a
