Man in Black jacket

A man was standing behind her, smiling at her.

He was wearing a black leather jacket and he was also unearthly handsome. Is there something suddenly wrong with this place? Why is it that overly good-looking men keep popping out of nowhere?

Roselia didn't dare to move. What are eyes looked for first were the dark corners of the surrounding trees, checking if perhaps another person was hanging around the corner. She didn't see anyone.

She relaxed a little but was still hesitant.

“You're so outrageous roselia! You didn't fear allowing yourself receive a kiss from that weird man but now you're afraid that a normal-looking might harm you or what?!” she mumbled to herself, shaking her head as though she was now convinced that she was now indeed unhinged.

The man still standing there unmoving, widened his smile. Flashing his handsome face, as if he was using his beauty to lure her to speak or do something. Inste, Roselia was just standing saying nothing, and silently observing what he wanted to do.

“I have something to give you,” he said, finally breaking the silence between them.

“Hello, Miss...” he grinned, flashing his white teeth at her. He was truly another out-of-this-world beauty. Although, to her, that beastly-looking man, Caleb, still looked way better than him, when she compared their looks.

“How can I help you? Do you need something?” she asked politely. The man leaned in and gave her a piece of paper.

“If you want to meet that man again, just contact me and I'll tell you where to find him.” He said, smiling kindly at her. He had a pleasant atmosphere about him that made someone feel like he had no ulterior motive. He also looked like the kind of man who would easily entice people with just his bright smile.

“That man?” Roselia creased her brows, trying to confirm even though she already knew who he was talking about.

He nodded. “That man that just kissed you and left” he grinned. And Roselia blinked at him, she became nervous again.

“You know him?” she asks after clearing her throat.

“He's my friend”

“Your member?” Roselia didn't know when those words escaped her mouth, and immediately placed her palms on her mouth, scared of what he might say.

“W-Why would you want me to meet him?” She immediately added.

“Because I think you both have something going on, let's say he's shy and doesn't have a good approach towards ladies and I, his very good friend am helping him and you out so you can get back at him for what he just did” He grinned again, obviously encouraging her to take the letter in hands.

Roselia creased her eyebrows when he continued speaking.

“What? You don't want to get back at him?!” He asked “I know you did moments ago looking at how annoyed you looked” He continued, looking a little disappointed.

But the moment he began retracting his hand, Roselia took the piece of paper he was holding out for her in his hands.

The man grinned with a sense of accomplishment before stepping back. “Bye! Miss little one! Until next time!” he waved and then before she knew it, he too disappeared from her sight, leaving her blinking in confusion and curiosity as she stared a the piece of paper in her hand.

As Roselia left the woods, driving back to her house in the small town of silverbrook. She couldn't help but think of how the night was filled with all sorts of emotions. Sparked flew everywhere the moment her thoughts went back to the kiss.

It was short, yet she suddenly wanted more of it. At twenty-two, Roselia had yet to experience a romantic relationship. She was raised in a nurturing and affectionate orphanage home.

She was told her mother died way back when she was just a baby, and the only thing left with her was the violin. She grew up carrying it around wherever she went, she treasured it so much.

Over the years, she has blossomed into a kind-hearted and soft person. People often likened her to the unsullied snow—polite, pure, and innocent but many also named her ‘Miss Goody-Two-Shoes’.

As she was growing up, Roselia had gotten used to other people mocking her, but her closest friend, Amelia always encouraged and advised her to not let the water around her enter her ship, otherwise, she would sink and drown.

She had been raised to keep a positive mindset and she, herself decided that there was no way she let that kind of person drown her.

She had a reason for why she had never had a boyfriend in her twenty-two years of existence. When she was seventeen, she realized that she had a trauma she was afraid of having someone fall in love with her.

Roselia had witnessed just how much her friend, Amelia suffered day by day, even years after her boyfriend died. Amelia loved her boyfriend so much that even after nearly a decade since his death, she was still seeing Amelia crying at night, looking at his photos. She had seen how painful it was to lose someone you loved through her friend—it was nothing but torture. She even once heard Amelia say she didn't feel alive anymore since the day he left her.

That was why she always rejected the boys who always showed any interest in her. There were just a few of them, but her fear would always be triggered, especially when someone confessed to her. All she could say to them was ‘no’ without any given reason.

Due to that, Roselia avoided boys as much as she could. She even purposely dressed quite unfashionable in other to become less attractive.

However, as years passed, Roselia started questioning herself; Will I die just like this?!

She has been dreaming of wanting to experience how it would feel to love someone. She wanted to know how it would feel to have butterflies in one's stomach and how it feels to kiss and embrace that person you love with all your heart, romantically.

She has read bunches of love stories and she couldn't help but wish she could experience this so-called romantic love, before she dies, living a vein and bound life.
