He paced from one end of his room to the other, why couldn’t he find his wristwatch? He has checked everywhere and can’t seem to find it. He decided to go with the Rolex watch he got two months ago that has been lying in the watch storage because it wasn’t his style, but he had no option but to go with it as he was running out of time.
The crowd was buzzing with excitement as they wait for his arrival, the paparazzi were already stationed outside the entrance, cameras flashing and reporters clamoring for a quote. Fans are chanting his name, eagerly anticipating his arrival.
The crowd erupts in cheers at the sight of his entourage, and security personnel spring into action, creating a pathway for him to enter. The car door opens, and he stepped out looking glamorous and poised. Dressed in a designer outfit, with complimenting well-trimmed haircut, he stepped onto the red carpet, and the crowd goes wild.
Cameras flash incessantly as he makes his way down the red carpet. He stops to pose for the photographers, striking a series of effortless poses that showcase his outfit and elegance. As he approached the entrance, he is greeted by a swarm of reporters, each vying for their attention, he wasn’t a fan of reporters as he was always their target to generate gossip, so he graciously ignored the questions they threw at him. He takes a long stride, expertly navigating the crowd and basking in the limelight.
Once inside the event, he was ushered to a VIP area, where he got a welcome hug from his mum.
"Ayomi, how are you doing?" She inquired with her eyes inspecting his look
"I hope you’ve been feeding well." She asked again,
"Mum! I’m all grown" he complained not liking the way she still bothered about him like he was still a kid.

"Seline! Please go to the VIP and render services to the guest over there and make sure you’re on your best behavior" Mr. Charles demanded.
She didn’t know her way around, but Mr. Charles had already left before she could ask for directions. She sighed and decided to follow her instinct or ask for direction from her colleagues.
She took a turn at the edge of the hallway she had been walking on, then followed the stairs that appeared before her, but became awestruck at what she saw, where she stood gave her the complete view of the event place; it was an opulent ballroom of a prestigious hotel, adorned with high ceilings, crystal chandeliers, and large windows offering breathtaking city views.
The color palette revolves around regal and sophisticated tones. Deep shades of burgundy, gold, and black dominate the decor, creating an ambiance of elegance and power. The entrance is adorned with a grand red carpet, flanked by uniformed staff welcoming the guests. Elegant drapes in rich colors and gold accents frame the entrance, creating an atmosphere of anticipation and grandeur.
Tables were draped with luxurious burgundy tablecloths, adorned with gold chargers and exquisite china. Towering floral centerpieces, consisting of red roses, orchids, and cascading greenery, bring a touch of elegance to each table. Gilded candlesticks with flickering candles add a warm glow to the surroundings.
A stage was set up for speeches and presentations, featuring a magnificent backdrop. A custom-made, oversized logo of the host’s company AKZ was prominently displayed, intricately crafted in gold, and illuminated with soft spotlights. The stage was flanked by towering floral arrangements, symbolizing success and prosperity.
A designated lounge area was created for the guests to relax and socialize. Plush velvet sofas and armchairs in deep hues of burgundy and gold provide a comfortable and luxurious seating arrangement. Low coffee tables with intricate detailing showcase lavish flower arrangements and elegant crystal decanters filled with fine spirits.
“that must be the VIP “, she thought.
At the centerpiece of the event was an extravagant multi-tiered cake. Adorned with edible gold leaf, intricate sugar flowers, and the tycoon's initials, the cake is a masterpiece. It rests on a grand cake table embellished with cascading floral arrangements and shimmering gold accents.
“That must have cost a fortune, hmmm…, why would someone make such a huge cake?, and they would end up not eating it”, she thought but her train of thought was cut short when her eyes met with a set of familiar eyes that looked at her knowingly.
She quickly walked away towards Mr Charles whom she spotted to help her locate the VIP ignoring the pair of eyes staring at her, she didn’t need to turn to be sure of her instinct since the hairs on her neck were standing like a network pole giving signals.
She didn’t know why she was feeling the way she was, but she knew that her instinct never lied, however, this time; it wasn’t telling her exactly what she needed to know.

“His eyes wasn’t playing tricks on him right?”, he thought. He has seen that face before but, he can’t seems to place his finger on it.
He felt someone tap him softly on the shoulder, “hey little bro”, he heard his sister call out bringing him back from his train of thought.
“hey Jazz”, he replied
Jasmine his older sister is someone he held in high esteem and loves much, he has been calling her jazz since he was 2 and the name has stuck since then.
“You got carried away looking at that waitress over there”, she said while pointing in the direction where he saw the waitress disappear.
“It’s nothing”, he replied “come let go see dad, I know he would be surprised you came”, she said with all excitement.
He knew this wasn’t a great idea as it’ll end in a very bad way due to his choice on pursuing a music career which his father detests and sees as a career for irresponsible persons.
“Can I have a glass of champagne?”, He called out to a waitress that had her back to him, she turned swiftly handing him a glass of champagne he ordered.
As he turned to get the glass of champagne being handed to him, he saw her again
“Yes, it was her! The waitress!
“Here is your drink Sir”, she said
“Do I know you from somewhere?”, he questioned
Seline didn’t know what to do, So, she simply bow her head and decided to act too busy. “Fine girl”, Seline called out to another waitress to switch places with her. She needed to leave that environment before he would recognize her. -------------------------------------- The party was in full swing, waiters and waitresses, impeccably dressed in crisp black and white uniforms, scurried across the room, expertly balancing trays laden with delicate champagne flutes and an array of delectable small chops. The clinking of glasses and the hum of conversation merged into a harmonious symphony, as guests mingled and exchanged pleasantries. A live band, stationed on an elevated stage, played a melodious jazz tune, setting the perfect backdrop for the festivities. The CEO, surrounded by a sea of well-wishers, smiled graciously, engaging in captivating conversations that echoed his sharp intellect and business acumen. The aromas of gourmet cuisine filled the air, tempting even the most dis
The sun's gentle rays peeked through the curtains, casting a warm glow across Amy's face as she stirred from her slumber. Her heart fluttered with a mix of excitement and nerves. Today marked a significant milestone in her journey—a year had passed since she had joined the Zion Groups, and now she stood on the precipice of a new chapter. With a deep breath, Amy rose from her bed and made her way to the window. The cityscape stretched out before her, a tapestry of possibilities. Today was her first day as the CEO of the Diamond Groups, a position she had earned through hard work, determination, and an unwavering belief in her abilities. As she dressed, each movement deliberate and purposeful, Amy couldn't help but reflect on the past year. Her time at the Zion Groups had been transformative, filled with challenges and growth. She had proven herself time and again, surpassing expectations and earning the respect of her colleagues. But now, she was returning to her roots, to the compan
Seline woke up that Monday morning with worries written all over her face. She didn’t know what to expect. “What would be her job description? Would she be able to keep up with being the PA to a celebrity?” Seline! Seline!! “You no dey go work?”, Seline’s mum screamed in pidgin English to her hearing as she jerked up. Ah! She is already running late and it is her first day working as a PA for Sweet. She quickly took her bath and got dressed wearing a pencil skirt and a chiffon top, it was one of her best sets of clothing and she hoped it meets Sweet’s standard. As she silently self-motivated herself, she got up to leave as she had only 30 mins to get to the address that was sent to her. Seline! her mother called Seline stopped on her track and turned in her mother’s direction. “Prepare to meet Mrs Veronica’s son this weekend, he would be coming back from Abuja on Wednesday.” Without saying a word Seline turned towards the door and left, she was already running late and didn’t
“could you walk faster!” Seline fastened her pace to catch up with the long strides of her new boss. Even with her effort to reach him, his long legs were doing no good, and he wasn’t even bothered if she was catching up or not. “You need to see this” Marcus Sweet’s manager passed him his phone. Sweet’s face immediately moved from cheerful to aggravated. “Can you move faster!” Sweet was now in a very bad mood, Seline couldn't understand why but she knows better than to say a word, so she followed his every instruction. As we got closer to his black Audi, was just thanking my stars that finally I’ll be dropping these shopping bags that weigh more than the weight of a cow because I was already exhausted from carrying the heavy bags on my shoulders and running after my boss “Get a cab and meet me in my house in 30 mins” Sweet snapped, his voice sharp and demanding. Seline looked around, unsure if he was speaking to her or someone else nearby. Before she could inquire, the engine of
The city lights shimmered like stars as Seline made her way through the bustling streets. Anger still simmered within her, a potent mix of frustration and indignation. She couldn't believe her mother had invited a suitor from their church as if her life were a game of arranged matrimony. Tonight, she needed an escape from it all, and an unlikely choice presented itself - a club. Arriving at the vibrant establishment, the pulsating beat of music filled the air, reverberating through her bones. This was not her usual scene, but tonight, it seemed like the perfect antidote to the heaviness she carried. She spotted her friend, Lya, at a corner table, her smile a welcoming beacon amidst the flashing lights. Lya looked surprised as Seline approached, her expression a mix of curiosity and concern. "Hey there, what's going on?" she asked, sensing the turmoil beneath Seline's facade. Seline sank into the seat opposite Lya, trying to compose herself. "I... I just needed a break, you know? My
Seline groaned as she slowly opened her eyes, greeted by the harsh sunlight that seemed to pierce through her pounding head. She winced, realizing that her head was throbbing from the hangover she had acquired at the club last night. Memories of dancing and laughter flashed through her mind, but they were now overshadowed by the consequences of her actions. She glanced at the clock on her bedside table and gasped in horror. She was already one hour late for work! Frantically, she stumbled out of bed and rushed to get ready, trying to put on her professional façade despite the chaos within. As she hurriedly dressed, she hoped to avoid running into her mother, knowing that her disapproval would only exacerbate her guilt. Seline's mind raced with thoughts of how irresponsible she had been, staying out late and getting drunk when she had important responsibilities to fulfill. She knew she was up to a lot of scolding not from her boss alone but her mum too. Sweet's POV: Sweet had been
As Sweet settled into his chair, preparing for the meeting with potential investors. He had a lot on his mind, but something was distracting him today – his PA, Seline. He couldn't help but notice the way Seline was dressed today. Her usual professional attire had been replaced by a stunning outfit that emphasized her curves and confidence. The skin-tight jeans and the sleek leather jacket clung to her in a way that made it difficult for him to focus on anything else. Marcus tried to shake off the distraction, reminding himself that this was not the time or place to let his thoughts wander. He had a meeting going on, and it required his full attention. But just as he attempted to immerse himself in the discussion, he noticed Mr. Smith, one of the potential investors, stealing glances at Seline. Sweet felt a surge of irritation bubbling within him. He couldn't believe that Mr. Smith was allowing himself to be so unprofessional during a business meeting. To add to it, he couldn’t und
As Seline stepped into the cab, her mind was a whirlwind of emotions. The encounter with Marcus Sweet had left her in a state of confusion, her heart racing from the unexpected closeness they had shared. Her fingers instinctively touched the spot on her waist where he had held her, still feeling the lingering tingle that seemed to echo his touch. The cab's engine hummed to life, the gentle vibrations providing a backdrop to her racing thoughts. She gave the driver her address but found herself lost in a sea of contemplation, her mind unable to settle on any one thought. What had prompted Sweet to hold her that way? Was it just another one of his mind games, or was there something deeper that she couldn't comprehend? The city lights passed by in a blur as the cab journeyed through the streets, each turn a reflection of the twists in her mind. She tried to analyze her feelings, to decipher the complex web of emotions that Sweet seemed to awaken within her. She had always respected him
