Karani briefly closed her eyes and took a deep breath. I knew how hard this was for her. She didn’t like looking at people’s memories, especially painful ones like these, but she’d done it for Shoran without even thinking about it.“I went to Shoran’s hospital room and looked at her memories. The things I’m going to tell you now, are the things that happened to her. She was awake and alert for most of it. As James walked out of her room, Shoran began to cry uncontrollably. It hurt so much to see him walk away from her. Why had she taken her ring off? Why didn’t she tell him that she would come back? She felt more hurt emotionally than she did from her injuries and surgery.
