88- Curse

Rayna’s POV:

I turned over in bed and saw Alexander's face, all peaceful and snoozing in bliss. I carefully moved his arm away that was lying around my midriff and tried to slide out of bed without waking him.

It took some effort, but I managed it. Grabbing his t-shirt from the nightstand, I slipped it over my head and tiptoed to the kitchen to fix something for dinner.

The floor felt cold under my feet as I walked confidently knowing full well that nobody should be there inside the quarters.

Looking around I searched for something to start with. The kitchen felt cozy with its soft lights. Right now, the only thing I could come up with was a ham and cheese sandwich. It required no burner.

I took my time to take out cheese, ham, and bread from the refrigerator.

Picking up a knife, I started slicing fully cooked deli ham while singing to myself.

“Whatcha making?” I heard Alexander’s heavy voice behind me, breaking the peaceful silence of the kitchen.

Startled, I jumped slightly and spun
