Pam didn’t just stay a day in Gisela’s place.

It was nearing a month. And she was yet to leave.

Gisela had no problem with it.

Dashiell enjoyed Pam’s presence in the house.

One would think that since Pam was at home to ease the workload, Gisela would devote more time to her husband.

Not at all.

Rather Gisela was always put shopping with the kids or at one of their games.

When she wasn’t there, she busied herself with church activities and volunteering at workshops.

She saw it as a period to invest in herself and the growth of her neighbouring community.

“Babe, I’m happy with all these you are doing. But don’t I get some of your time and attention?” Dashiell had said one day.

“Stop whining like a baby as if sex is food. Do you want to kill me for my parents?”

And that was it – the response that made Dashiell give up on pursuing her.

Over time, she noticed he wasn’t disturbing her for sex any more.

And she felt relieved.
