Chapter 11

Rune’s pov

It felt good getting back at that wizard. Something about it felt wrong especially the way he was looking at Lyra with fear evident on his face but I didn't care.

If not for anything I used Lyra as my consolation. He almost drained her soul from her body.

He deserved worse for using such spells on another living being especially when he was not being attacked.

Lyra was helpless and yet he used spells with the power to inflict excruciating pain on its victims.

I was back at the residence with Xavier, and he was looking like a drenched puppy.

I offered him a shot of vodka as I was having several shots too.

“You should have a shot yourself, you look like a drenched wolf cub,” I poked at him.

He was always an easy tease. He took it well and he chuckled in response to my teasing.

Or so I thought.

The words that came out of his mouth threw me into a frenzy.

“Drink up,” he let out, “Rest and do that quickly, we're heading to the Darkmoon manor at once,”
