Chapter sixteen

A feeling of Nostalgia

12 years ago… in Trento

"Baby baby don't cry, don't you know there's someone who loves you and watches over you"

"Baby baby don't cry, you are more beautiful when you smile."

Mom was the most beautiful person I knew, she had a soothing voice and the prettiest smile. I watched her sing to me as my shrugging shoulders eased from a long-lasting sob. I had misplaced my doll in the rain and ran to mom with eyes full of

tears.

"It's okay Caro mio," she wiped off the fluid travelling down my nose. "Hush now baby, I would get another doll."

My sobs ceased and I looked up at Mom, wiping away my tears with the back of my hand.

"You want me to get you another?" She asked me with glitter in her eyes. I nodded, inhaling the fluid back into my nose.

"Okay baby, then don't cry anymore." She lifted me and placed a kiss on my cheeks.

"Daddy is going to take it from here while I head to work," Mom called out for Dad who came running down the stairs and lifted me away from Mom.
