POV: Darrel William.
I never knew that watching TV could bring so much pain and sadness. And so much Anticipation,Longing for someone.
I was sitting in my living room after a long day of work when I turned on the news. Just like any other day, I was expecting to hear stories about politics, weather, and maybe even some human-interest pieces.
“Here we have seated with us, the brave investigative Journalist, who assisted in bursting the crime ring that the Anthony family has been terrorising New York for 30 years. Let’s welcome, Ivory Wells.” I heard as I sat on the chair in front of the TV. Ivory walked into the arena, her smile bright.
A smile that I had missed for years. Seven years. Seven years had passed since I had set eyes physically on Ivory. Not ever since I angrily banished her from the pack, years ago.
She was different, very different from the 18 year old Ivory I had known, fallen in love with and chased away.
The girl who had once been reserved and quiet was now bold and confident, and I swallowed hard.
Ivory was being interviewed about her involvement in busting the Anthony family's crime ring. As I watched her speak, I was amazed at how composed she seemed. She recounted the events of the investigation with precision, describing how she had used her skills to gather crucial evidence that had ultimately led to the Anthony family's downfall.
The interviewer asked Ivory about the challenges she faced during the investigation, and she didn't hesitate to recount them. “I remember getting into a bit of an issue when I my disguise was fund out. I was chased almost round the whole New York, by Jame’s Anthony’s goons. Not only that, they bugged my house and crated away hours of works I had put into the investigation. They thought they had me. But I ran.” She said and the people on the show chuckled. Her wide smile made its way to my heart.
Just like the way it had made its way when I was younger.
The interviewer asked Ivory how she managed to gather the evidence without risking her safety. Ivory responded with a smile, "I had help from some friends who were willing to take a risk for the greater good."
Her face glowed with Pride, as she spoke.
As the interview came to an end, the interviewer turned to Ivory and asked, "What message do you have for other young women who may be facing similar challenges?"
Ivory took a deep breath and spoke directly into the camera. " When Life throws Lemons at you, make Lemonade with them. You know,I had a bit of tough Adolescent life.” She said and paused, swallowing hard, her eyes forming tears. I could see them. “But I moved past it, and here I am today. Don't be afraid to speak up and take action. Your voice matters, and your actions can make a difference. It's not easy, but it's worth it.” She said with a small smile.
“And that’s a wrap on, Only The Brave Ones Seek Justice, today, I’m guessing you had much fun with the New Justice seeker, Miss Ivory. Do join us again tomorrow at Six pm and I will see you on the flip side.” The anchor said and the show ended.
As I sat in my dimly lit office, surrounded by files and paperwork, my mind couldn't help but wander to the werewolf spy I had kept in the human world. His words echoed in my head as I recalled our last conversation, where he had informed me of Ivory's dangerous investigations.
I couldn't help but feel a wave of concern wash over me as I thought about the danger that Ivory was putting herself in with her investigative work. She was a talented journalist, with an uncanny ability to get to the heart of a story, but sometimes that came at a cost.
I remembered the unease I had felt when the werewolf spy had told me the details of Ivory's current investigation. She had been digging into a dark and dangerous crime that involved human mob bosses, and a bomb had been set in her car, if not that she had been warned Prior, she’d have lost her life.
And her silence. I stared at the copies of Letters I had sent her over the past year, with No reply from her. I sighed angrily and exasperatedly. I didn’t understand the silent treatment she was giving me, even though I know she has the right to be extremely angry at me.
Deep down I had wanted to tell her the truth. Behind the real reason why I had expelled her. Since she was Wolfless, and there was Crisis within the werewolf world, it was needed that I expelled her from my pack, to maintain the peace and the balance. I knew that he wasn’t capable of hurting anybody, hell, I knew Jenna hadupdet her that night and that she didn’t mean to push her down the stairs. I just had to do what was needed for my pack and I.
I watched as Jeremy, sat on the chair beside me, watching from my Tablet as Ivory came up the screen for a News report. I watched as Jeremy jotted down Ivory’s name and information, and silently walked away. Jeremy was my son, even though I had no idea who his mother was. I abdndoned my work and followed him silently, watching from his peephole. He walked to his laptop, pressed in some buttons and checked his savings Jar and I understood what he was doing.
He was going to find Ivory. I texted my Beta, Hardin and he came inside my study.
“Get ready. You’ll be making a Journey into the human world with Jeremy.” I said and Hardin stared at me.
“To do what?” He asked with his eyebrows raised up.
“To find Ivory Wells. And when you find her, protect Her and Jeremy as well. With your life.” I said.
POV: Ivory Wells.I woke up on Monday morning feeling refreshed and ready to take on a new week. Last week had been a successful investigation and I was proud of myself for the hard work I had put in. As I got dressed, I couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction as I thought about how far I had come in my career.I got into my car and made my way to work, turning on some upbeat music to psyche myself up for the day ahead. As I pulled into the parking lot, I noticed my boss, Mr. Johnson, waiting for me. He looked serious, and I wondered what was going on."Good morning, Ivory," Mr. Johnson said as I approached him."Good morning, Mr. Johnson. Is everything alright?""Yes, everything's fine. I just wanted to give you this." He handed me a pale yellow envelope with no return address.I looked at the envelope suspiciously. "What is it?""It's from Darrel. The same guy that has been sending Numerous Letters, for over a year now." Mr. Johnson said, his expression neutral. And I sighed.
POV: Ivory Wells.“Jeremy. This is Miss Ivory Wells. Ivory, this is Jeremy, Alpha Darrel’s firstborn child.” He said and I staggered back, Anger filling me up.What sort of Mockery was this? How dare Darrel try to rile me up, by sending me his son, when my child had died in my own fucking hands?! My heart pounding with anger and disgust as I was sure that they had done this to provoke me. I could feel my muscles tense up, and my hands balled into fists as I struggled to maintain control over my emotions. Jenna had been a hateful person but this was an all-time low for Darrel.I knew they would go to any lengths to make me miserable, but I never thought they would stoop so low as to bring a child into their twisted games. The little boy in front of me was Jeremy, the son of Darrel and Jenna. He was brought by Darrel's Beta, Hardin, and my blood boiled as I realized this meant they were trying to manipulate me with an innocent child."Take him away," I said to Hardin, struggling to ke
POV: Darrel Williams.I couldn't believe what I had just heard. Ivory had always been a calm and collected person, never one to lash out at anyone, let alone kids. But that's exactly what happened. At least that was what Hardin told me."It's not like her," he said, his voice low and concerned."Ivory has always been great with kids, even the ones she's never known before.""You mean to tell me that Ivory lashed out at a kid? That's not like her at all," I asked."I know, that's why I'm so confused." He replied and I sighed"I know, that's what's so strange about all of this," I replied, feeling frustrated and confused."Wait a minute," I said suddenly, a note of realization creeping into my voice. "What happened before she lashed out?"“Her face drained of colour, the moment I told her that Jeremy was your son.” Hardin said and I sighed in confusion.“There’s something we still haven’t figured out yet. We need to do that, else we won’t be able to understand the reason for her lashing
POV: Darrel Williams.“Find everything about Ivory Wells. Everything that she has been up to, in the past seven years.” I said to Rogers, my second Personal assistant and he nodded with a slight bow and walked out of the room.I paced around the room for Several minutes,my head not getting away from the I sat comfortably on my couch, my phone in my hand as I waited for Jeremy to answer the video call. It didn't take long before little his face popped up on my screen, his eyebrows furrowed in frustration."Hey Son, what's up?" I greeted him, trying to lighten the mood."Hi Dad. Miss Ivory just lashed out at me for no reason. I don't know what I did wrong," Jeremy complained, his voice laced with irritation and confusion.I let out a sigh. Ivory was on edge and I still didn’t understand why, but I sighed., I was going to find it out, what it was that made her hate me. "I'm sorry to hear that, Jer. But it's not your fault. Ivory's just angry with me," I told him."Wait, what do you mean
POV: Ivory Wells. My past seemed to be imposing itself upon me from every conceivable direction. Whenever I had the impression that I had conquered my suffering, something would take place that would immediately bring me back into experience. The advent of Darrel's kid, Jeremy, at this time, caused the old scars that I had believed had healed to become exposed.I couldn't help but think back on the night that everything in my world fell apart as I sat in my living room.Darcy, my sweet girl, died from her sickness that evening It was a miserable development that her disease had kept her from making every moment count and from developing and flourishing like different messes with her age.It was difficult to ignore the recollection since it was still so vivid, like an open wound that would never heal. I could see that she was petite in stature, and her eyes were really beautiful, gazing up at me with a youthful curiosity. After that, she vanished, taken away from me by a tragic turn of
POV: Darrell Williams. The more I discovered about Jeremy's past, the more mysteries emerged, ones that threatened to upend the foundation of everything I believed to be true. I felt more and more furious and frantic as it seemed like the universe was playing a cruel game of cat and mouse with me, holding the truth just out of my grasp.I had always taken great satisfaction in being a man who could steer a ship through the roughest seas with resolute determination and that I had everything under control. However, this predicament, this intricate web of falsehoods and deceit, made me question every choice I had ever made.I felt like a stranger in my own life as I sat in my study surrounded by a ton of files and documents. I was completely taken aback by the realization that Callum Wells, my reliable advisor, might have been involved. How could someone I had regarded as family, someone so close to me, betray me in this manner?"Hardin," I yelled, my voice tinged with a fatigue I had ne
POV: Jeremy Williams. As I dug more into the riddle of my origins, it felt like the universe was changing, like sand passing through my fingers. My view of reality grew further distorted with every discovery, leaving me to cling to a sense of security amid a tornado of doubt. The person in the epicenter of this tempest was Ivory Wells, a woman who had looked at me with contempt and hatred at first. But as the days stretched into weeks, a change started to occur. I saw glimmers of a softer side to her, a fragility that spoke to depths of suffering and grief I could hardly imagine.Ivory revealed a different side to me during those times when her guard was down: a side that was kind, sympathetic, and fiercely protective. Furthermore, I saw that I was pulled to her in a way that I couldn't quite put my finger on as our paths grew more and more entangled."Jeremy," she would remark in a firm yet gentle tone, "I understand that this is difficult for you." But regardless of where the truth
POV: JennaEvery inch of our once-calm pack was filled with tension, a tangible sensation of uneasiness. Dread was building as I watched Darrel get more and more engrossed in his quest to learn the truth about Jeremy's background and Ivory's exile. It was not only that he was spending endless hours reading through paperwork and questioning pack members; it was also that the thought of Ivory's name made his eyes light up. I couldn't quite pinpoint the spark that would light inside of him, but it would fill me with an incredible jealousy that felt like it would devour me alive.I was the Alpha's selected mate, the Luna, meant to rule beside him and guarantee the pack's success. But as I saw Darrel's obsession with Ivory intensify, I couldn't get rid of the sense that my authority was in jeopardy and that the groundwork for it was beginning to fall.I would say, "Darrel," a hint of desperation in my voice. "You're consumed by this fixation on Ivory and Jeremy's history. Are you not seein
