Chapter twenty five

Abigail and the others exchanged incredulous glances, causing a momentary freeze in the office atmosphere. Kathy, feeling embarrassed, pressed her lips together.

After Dominic's departure, the office erupted with excitement. The previous discussion was completely forgotten as everyone's attention was solely focused on Dominic's unusually soft expression and tone.

"Kathy, sweetie! You swore you had no special connection with the CEO. When has he ever been so gentle with anyone else?" Abigail shook Kathy's arm while speaking rapidly.

Overwhelmed, Kathy attempted to explain.

"He…he was just being nice, you guys. He's not usually like this with me all the time. Besides, we live near each other, and I'm a capable employee…"

In an unexpected turn, Kathy, known for her smart thinking, struggled to articulate her thoughts, but everyone understood her message nonetheless.
