Dominic looked at Kathy with undisguised admiration in his eyes, anticipating the performance his girl was about to bring him. He could tell that there was a different sparkle in her eyes as she turned around.

Maricela looked puzzled, wondering why Estela and Carissa had looked at each other strangely earlier, almost as if they were united against something.

"You're close with Carissa?" Maricela asked Estela casually, glancing at Kathy's back.

Estela nodded. "We're acquaintances from the Christensen family."

Maricela didn't ask any further.

She didn't know when these two had hooked up, but she felt isolated.

Wherever Kathy went, people automatically made way for her, and the white jade floor seemed to enhance the film festival-like atmosphere and beauty that surrounded her.

Wilson chuckled in a corner where no one paid attention to him, sipping champagne and half-closing his eyes as he watched Carissa and Estela, exuding a dangerous aura.
