I ran at full speed to the end of the tunnel bursting free into the middle of the woods on pack land. I was hoping Selwyn wouldn’t be mad at me for not waiting on him but I knew I wanted to be done with this and it would be easy to capture and return Ray to be punished by his Alpha. I followed Ray’s essence in the air and ran to the border knowing he was already running straight for Jadeville to hide. I also knew that Selwyn would be displeased with me leaving pack land without him but I didn’t have time to wait on him or Ray would get away. I also knew I could sense any trap that might be waiting. Ray knew enough about me torealize my strength and magic by now. I was just hoping he wasn’t going to sell me out to the cats. I slowed down as I reached Jadeville and kept to the shadows. I sent my magic outside of myself seeking Ray’s essence in the air around me. It didn’t take me long to find what I was looking for as I walked down the quiet streets of the small town. I ducked into the
Selwyn’s POV I was beyond annoyed not knowing what my mate would do when she faced the cats and the witch. Ray would be easy to subdue by my alpha command. As I explained to Rain that I would end Talis the look on her beautiful face told me she had other plans. I had even used my alpha command on my mate knowing it wouldn’t work but I had to try and do all I can to protect her. If Talis killed her parents then he knew how to neutralize Rain and take her from me. That thought alone made my heart ache. That can never happen. I had just found her. She is mine! The mate bond was growing between us but I had a sinking feeling that Rain didn’t feel it the same or as strong as me because she wasn’t a wolf. I knew I would do what ever I had to if I wanted to keep her. I also knew I had to find out if anymore dragons roamed the earth. I wouldn’t claim her only to loose my mate later on to a dragon. I was beginning to think that I was not her fated mate as she was mine. Maxim keep pace with R
Rain’s POV I stood in the small clearing in the quiet forest gazing at the witch and waiting. Darkness surrounded us but my night vision was spot on. My mate was behind me along with beta Rod just inside the wood line but still concealed from view. I could feel Selwyn’s anxiety and determination but I couldn’t afford any distractions while facing the witch. I know what magic I hold inside me and I know how strong I am. I have never let arrogance cause me to get to cocky. My father had trained me from an early age on defense and strategy. My ancient magic I had to learn by studying the books my parents found for me and by trial and error until I perfected it. My eyes are glowing but that is all I am showing the witch just yet. I will let her make the first move and then end this little dance so I can destroy Talis. It took only a moment for the witch to throw a dark spell at me from her hand. It was meant to freeze me in place I could tell. For a few seconds I let her believe it worke
The night was quickly fading into early morning. I couldn’t believe the fight was over for now. My worst enemy was gone. Now I just had to focus on my mate and strengthening our bond, if my nerves would let me. I wanted my mate but I just didn’t know if he wanted all of me and not just my body. It was a debate that my mind just couldn’t stop going over. Reya also felt that uneasy feeling of maybe Selwyn wasn’t our treasure. If he backed out of the mating ceremony then Reya would never except him. If my dragon didn’t except Selwyn then neither could I. My body wouldn’t let me even if my mind still wanted to at that point. However I wouldn’t think about that now. I was to tired. I just needed some sleep and yes to be honest I wanted to snuggle up to my mate. The cold breeze still blew softly over our faces as we stood facing each other and waiting for Selwyn to decide what we should do next. I knew what I wanted to do but I would listen to my mate first. He didn’t know about my home
Selwyn’s POV The last two days have literally blown my mind. I was exhausted and I knew my Rain was as well. I could feel her tiredness through the mate bond. I knew she couldn’t feel the bond as strong as me yet, but I had no doubt that after I calmed her she would. Maxim was the happiest my wolf had ever been after finding our mate. He lay curled up in my mind content like a puppy. Rain slept snuggled in my arms after a few kisses and caresses. I was still wide awake thinking over all that happened. I was so glad Rain didn’t challenge my authority at any time in front of my pack. She was by far the most magical and powerful shifter I have ever met in my life. I am beyond thankful that the Moon Goddess paired her with me. For all her power, she didn’t realize that I could feel her every emotion through the mate bond. She was patiently trying to get to know me but I already knew her feelings very well. I was fast learning her quirks and her magic. I couldn’t wait to see my mark on her
Rain’s POV I was floating high above the clouds in my mind as I enjoyed being close to Selwyn. I sat on the corner of the oak desk in my father’s huge library listening to all my mate had to say about being with me forever. I was slowly falling in love with my mate. Now that I was definitely sure he wanted to be mated for life I was finally ready to be claimed by him. I was ready to claim him as my fated mate and show him my dragon. Reya had already decided he is our treasure. I have never shifted before but I knew dragons were not small so I wanted to shift while here at my mansion before we went back to the pack. I knew I wouldn’t be able to shift until I was claimed by Selwyn. The claiming is what brings forth the shift soon after. Selwyn smirked at me as he mentioned sending Rod back to pack lands. I smiled knowing he wanted me to teleport Rod alone but sadly I couldn’t do that unless I touched Rod. I raised up from the desk and began walking over to the door before
Rain’s POV I was soaring above the clouds the wind blowing my long hair out of my face. I could see the clear blue skyline as I swirled around in a circle, only to see my body change in midair. I became a beautiful icy blue dragon with pale blue wings and spikes that ran from my back down my tail. I knew I was dreaming when I saw my face had changed into a beautiful dragon snout with razor sharp teeth. Horns sat atop my head and more short spikes ran the length of my neck. My dragon scales were shining in the sunlight a magnificent icy blue hue. My dragon’s underside was a sparkling shade of the palest blue I had ever seen. I knew without having ever seen this beauty before that this was Reya introducing herself to me before anyone else. I had been speaking to her in my mind since I was a kid but I had never fully seen her up close. My dream changed again and I sat on Reya’s back as we glided through the clouds. My heart was so full of love in that moment for my dragon half. Reya was
Selwyn’s POV The last six months with my beautiful mate have been the best in my life by far. Ever since the day I claimed Rain it has just been getting better and better. I’m sitting here in my office, supposed to be working, yet I can’t keep my mind off my delicious mate. Everything reminds me off her. All I have to do is look in a mirror and I am reminded of my sweet Rain. The branding by dragon flame was the most amazing thing I have ever experienced. The look on Rain’s face as she came undone for me is etched in my mind forever. Being ignited in flames was just a plus. It was the most pleasure I have ever experienced. Now I see myself branded hers forever in blue flames from my knees to the bottom of my jaws. Well what can I say it just makes me look bad ass. Maxim even has a blue tint to his fur now when I shift. We are forever Rain’s treasure and I thank the Goddess for her everyday. I glanced down at the stack of reports on my desk and knew I needed to get some work done. I
