JANA’S POV
.
“Who is there?” I asked, with my eyes, looking around in fear.
“Sorry, did I scare you?”
It was the pervert CEO who had appeared in the restroom with me.
“What are you doing here?” I asked as I held myself tight.
“I’m not here to hurt you.” He said, looking like he was concerned.
“You are in the female’s restroom!” I shouted as I reached the end of the restroom.
Then he looked around like he knew nothing about where he was.
“Oh, my goodness. I’m sorry.” He apologized, then left the restroom.
My heart was still racing and I was clueless on what to do. Was he really a pervert? Why is it me he has his eyes on? I left the restroom and walked quickly to the office where I met the others, waiting for me.
“Uhm… Sorry I took time.” I apologized, with my hands, shaking as I picked up my bag.
“It’s fine.” Britney said, with a smile on her face and then, she hung her hand around my shoulders.
Edward had a car, so we all hopped in and he drove us to the restaurant.
~
“Cheers!” Everyone said and clinked their glass cups, excitedly.
“So, how does it feel, working with us?” Britney asked, as she cupped her cheek with her hands.
“I feel good. It’s actually nice to work here and I’m happy that my colleagues are accommodating.” I said as I gave a big smile.
“We are glad that we are working with you as well.” Alicia said, with a slight smile on her face.
“Heard that the monthly show off is coming up, next week and I caught a glimpse of team B’s design, I am so sorry to say, but their design is mind-blowing. I really hope that they do not tramp over us, this time.” Corey said and adjusted his glasses.
“We won’t allow them crush us, this time.” Britney said as she balled her hands into a fist and pressed her knuckles.
“Let’s just be sure to do our best in whatever we are assigned to do.” Edward finally voiced out.
He looked manly and seemed like he was serious with his work and that was cool.
~
After work, we all bade each other good bye and then while I was walking back home, a car honked at me and then I looked at my side, it was Edward.
“Seems we are going towards the same direction. Why don’t you hop in?” He asked, staring into my eyes.
“Uh… Won’t that be inconvenient for you?” I asked, fiddling with my fingers.
“If it was, I wouldn’t offer it.”
~
Edward dropped me at the street near my home and just like anyone would talk with someone they helped with their car, even if it is just a little conversation, Edward didn’t, but it was fine. At least, I was able to have a little rest in his car. I got home and to my surprise, I met Layla, eating chicken and watching a movie.
“What a surprise to see you here. You still have your spare key.” I said as I dropped my bag on the couch, sat beside her and took one chicken.
“You must have had a stressful day.”
“Yeah, I did. And a weird one.”
“A weird one?” She asked, in surprise.
I didn’t want to tell her my encounter with the CEO, and I didn’t have a reason, but I just felt I should watch for a while before saying a thing.
“Just there. I think I’m tired. Let me freshen up, first.” I said as I made my way to the bathroom.
STEFAN’S POV
I could not get my mind off Jana who was now in form of Melissa. If she was in a different form, then she wouldn’t remember me, but I still felt that there was Jana, inside of her.
There was no one that I could ask about this re-incarnation stuff, except in my world, where I would make a journey to the witches’ world, but I was already banned from stepping into their territory.
My phone began to ring and it was my secretary who was calling. I didn’t want to answer the call, because I wasn’t in any mood to do so, but I did, anyway.
“Yeah, what’s it?” I asked, dryly.
“There is a meeting with Miss Jenny that you will have to attend. If you keep declining, it will look bad on the company.” My secretary informed, with a tone of worry.
“Alright, send me the address.”
“Alright, sir.”
The tone in which he spoke, was different, this time, he sounded happy. He was a good secretary and human, because he cared about my well-being and that of the company. Then a text message came in, which read:
“Valdore Restaurant, by 7pm.”
I didn’t expect it to be in the evening, but what could I do? He would have already sent her a message of approval, so I had no choice than to go.
When it was 7pm, I drove off to the restaurant and then to my surprise, she wasn’t in the restaurant, yet, which was unlike her. As I sat and was served a glass of water, a call came in. It was her. What did she have to say? That she won’t be able to make it? Tch!
“Hello?” She sounded scared, when I heard her voice.
“Hello? Is everything okay?” I asked, out of curiosity.
“No, it’s not. Please help me. Someone is after my life and I am right in the alley, not far from the restaurant. Trying to hide from him. If I scream, he’ll get to me before anyone does.” She said, in a low tone as she sniffed.
“Okay, okay. Do not make any noise, I’ll be right there.” I said as I hung up, then I rushed to the alley and saw the man, holding a sharp object.
He had gotten to Miss Vivian and held her neck, about to slit her throat. Then I used my werewolf powers and ran in a split second, then gave him a powerful punch, which knocked him out.
“W…what are you?” Miss Vivian looked up at me, in fear and shock.
STEFAN'S POV.I knew this was going to be a problem, if I let her go with this information. Then I picked her up and she was shivering, in fear. Then I held her tight.“You saw none of my werewolf powers. You only saw how I fought with him with good skills and then he got knocked out.” I said, using my vampire powers to hypnotize her. Then I knocked her out and then lodged her in a hotel room and went back to my house. I removed my tie and sat on the couch, staring into blank space and the first thought that came to my mind was Jana. I needed to be in her life and it just seemed that every way I tried to come closer, was wrong to her.~MELISSA’S POVThe next day, I went to work, ready to take on my project. As I got to work, I greeted everyone, with a smile, and before I could have my seat. That same man who addressed us before the CEO, walked in.“Miss Melissa?” He called my name, then walked out.I looked at my colleagues, then followed the secretary.‘Sorry if you may have found
MELISSA’S POV.“Melissa! Melissa!” I could hear my name, being called, but it wasn’t loud. My eyes began to open little by little. Had I fainted?Edward picked me up gently and I staggered a bit, but he was there to hold me tight. He held me tight and then I rubbed my eyes and opened it, only to find him looking at me, with worry.“Are you sure you are fine? Come, let’s get to the clinic.” He said, with worry, written all over his face.“I’m…I’m fine. I…I can walk on my own.” I said as I tried to walk on my own, but staggered back into his arms.“You see? I do not think you are fine. Let’s get you to the clinic.” Edward said, then drove me to the clinic.~“You are fine. You probably just need rest.” The nurse said, with a smile.I couldn’t explain what had happened to me, neither did I understand what happened. But why did I pass out over that? Something seemed fishy, but I guess I really needed rest just as the nurse said. While Edward was driving me back home, I looked at him. He
MELISSA'S POVI got to the restaurant and I saw Layla looking around like she expected that I ought to have been there, since a while ago."Melissa. You came in late, why is that?" She asked, staring at me suspiciously."That wasn't intentional, so stop giving me that expression. You won't believe what just happened.""What just happened?" She asked, inquisitively."Well, I bumped into this pride filled woman at the entrance and she said I scratched her bag, which was a limited edition and then she asked me to pay the money back." I explained as I sipped my drink, still not believing that the woman had placed a debt on me that easy."O.M.G. Those kind of people are really bad luck. What then happened?""Surprisingly, the CEO threatened her never to treat his employees, lowly anymore except she is done having a business with him." I added, with a smile on my face."Oh, my goodness. That's so cool. Mr. Stefan is really a cool man. If he can fight for his employees, how much more his wom
STEFAN’S POVSeeing as she left in such a hurry, was disturbing. It didn’t seem like good news either. I dropped my fork and took up my suit and headed towards my car as fast as I could, so I wouldn’t lose track of her.Thankfully, I caught sight of her. She was running to wherever she was going to and I just followed her slowly at the back. A few minutes later, she got to her destination, I presume. Everywhere looked scattered, it looks like they had thrown her friend’s belongings away, then I used my wolf ears to eavesdrop, which I knew was wrong, but this was Melissa’s case. I am always more than interested on her case.“Oh, my goodness. How could she do this at night?” She gasped, with her hands, covering her mouth.~I watched as they conversed regarding the house issues until she went into her house, angrily. So, it was her, owing house rent, afterall. I drove off, back to my house and thought of what to do. There was no way I could give her landlady the money, because word woul
MELISSA’S POV“What is going on? How is this missing? What am I going to do now?” I said to myself, with tears, filling my eyes up.I sat down, feeling depressed. It was one of the personal projects I have worked on that made me happy and even Stefan had encouraged me to put it up. Just when I decided to, I can’t find my clothes now. I knew I had lost the chance, so I accepted my fate and went back to the event.“Wow, the competition is quite tough. Both the teams have put up their best and it is hard to choose, but I feel there is still one more cloth that Team A hasn’t shown us. That could help us to decide finally.” Stefan said, searching for me and at that moment, I felt like covering my face. What was I going to say? Dana would think I had told him about the cloth, behind her back, probably for favoritism and when he finds out that I can’t find it, he might think that I was only looking for an excuse, but that isn’t a problem. He had already increased my interest in putting up m
STEFAN’S POVI was glad that Melissa had won the show off event. I was going to use the time we would spend together, to know more about ourselves. I stayed at the balcony and watched the quiet street.Where would be best to plan for our outing, I needed to find a place that would make her feel comfortable with me and I needed her to remember who she was. Every day, I could feel the mate bond between us and it made my patience, become thin and thin that I really want to have her as soon as possible.I remembered how bright her smile was, when I congratulated her for coming out as the winner of the show off event.~Flashback~“Congratulations, Melissa. How do you feel, emerging as the winner of this event?” I asked her, with a smile on my face.“I feel so good. I wasn’t expecting this and this is thanks to you for encouraging me to go for it.” She smiled brightly at me.“That’s why it is good to always believe in yourself, regardless of how the situation is turning out or whatever what
MELISSA’S POV“I heard that. Who said you can’t have fun with your boss? Let’s have today and make the best out of it.” He said, with a smile and walked towards the water.I followed him, fiddling with my hands and unsure of how to act around him. As we got to the water side, my attention was caught by a couple who were having fun and it made me to remember my father and mother who died in a car accident.Suddenly, water splashed on my face and I looked at the direction in which it came from and to my surprise, it was Stefan who splashed the water at me. He was smiling widely, with his nice set of teeth showing. I giggled.“Okay Melissa. Let’s forget he is the boss and enjoy today.” I said to myself and then ran towards him, beaming with smiles.“Be careful. You could slip.” He chuckled as he tried to run from me.I laughed out loud because I was excited. “If you are able to catch me, I will grant you a wish of yours and if you don’t, you will grant me a wish.” He said, with a smile
MELISSA’S POVI woke up feeling happy. Yesterday was a good time, which would forever remain evergreen in my heart. Then I had my bath and got out of my room.“What is this smell?” I said to myself as I could smell a nice aroma, coming from the kitchen.“Who is there?” I asked, trying not to sound scared.“Save the question for later and come help me here.” It was Layla and I felt relief wash through me.“Hey, would you quit getting me frightened?” I pouted as I walked into the kitchen.“Well, maybe that should be a hobby of mine, instead.” She teased as she started frying the chicken.“Whoa. What is the occasion?” I asked, surprised she was cooking something as nice as this.“Well, I am just glad that my friend is doing well and it’s also like an apology for speaking too fast the other night.”I scoffed. “It’s an apology and you are asking me to help out. If you want me to accept the apology, you’ll have to do all these by yourself.” “Alright, my lady. Enjoy yourself with a chilled
