Chapter 0007

~DAHLIA~

Some minutes later, Kade walked out of the house and I immediately walked towards him.

“Well, did she say anything?" I questioned and he nodded.

“Yes and I'm sorry I sent you out. She wasn't going to talk with you being there," He murmured as he placed his hand on my shoulder and I sighed.

“She was involved, huh?" I muttered quietly and he nodded slowly.

“Yeah. Apparently she stole jewelry from you in order to pay off her debt but then she was caught by Valerie and that was used against her. Don't worry, go rest. I'll take care of everything." He muttered and I shook my head.

“I was supposed to help. I would like to know everyone behind this," I uttered and he shook his head.

“You are a frail wolf, Dahlia. If the enemy finds out you know, they might try to cover up their tracks and you might get hurt in the process and we don't want that. You will be involved, when everything is ready, I'll come get you, okay?" I stared at him for a while then sighed before nodding.

Kade led Me back to my room and I paced the floor, biting my nails in anticipation. What was going on? I knew Valerie was behind it but could someone else be helping her?

After a while, I was so tired that I fell asleep and only woke up when I felt warm fingers caressing my cheek.

“Little wolf," I jolted awake and gasped as I saw Axel seated on my bed, staring intently at me. I was about to move away when he grabbed my arm.

“Don't do that," His voice was calm but his tone was tainted with warning. It was like if I didn't listen to me, he would break my neck.

I calmed my racing heart then took a deep breath before bowing my head at him.

“Alpha King," I murmured and my eyes widened when he lifted my chin with his finger so I was staring directly into his eyes.

“When we are alone, you can call me Axel," He murmured and I shook my head.

“I don't want to be on a first name basis with you," I muttered and he tilted his head.

“Why?"

“Because I don't want to have a close relationship with you," I murmured and my eyes darkened.

“But you can have a close relationship with Kade?" He uttered and I frowned. Was he jealous?

Before I could say a word, he stood up, outreaching his hand towards me.

“Come, we have judgment to pass on." He uttered coldly, more cold than usual. Had I hurt his feelings? He didn't seem like someone that could be hurt.

I immediately placed my hand in his as I climbed out of the bed then he led me out of the room and out of the house and during this work, none of us spoke a word to each other which I liked, I was too intimidated by him.

We walked towards the field and I let out a scream as I saw Sarah, Valerie and Andrew being held down by guards. Valerie and Sarah were crying loudly while Andrew just stayed quiet.

“What's going on?" I questioned as Axel dragged me towards them.

“The three of them are your proof," Axel uttered and I frowned before turning to Kade who nodded his head. Before I could say a word, I spotted Tristan coming for afar with his guards behind him. Everyone began gathering slowly to watch how everything would unfold.

“What is going on here?" Tristan uttered as he turned to glare at Axel who didn't give him any attention.

“Go on, Dahlia. Question them and ask them what they did wrong." Axel uttered.

“But…"

“Don't get weak on me now. I thought you wanted the truth?" Axel uttered and I nodded.

“I do…"

“Then question them." He muttered and I frowned before turning to them. With shaky hands, I removed the cloth tied around Andrew's mouth.

“He helped me escape so why is he being tied up?" I questioned and Andrew sighed.

“It was all a plan. I… She threatened me, Dahlia with my sister. Ever since my sister was diagnosed with her vital disease, Valerie has been the one supplying me with her medicine. She threatened to stop providing medicine for my sister if I didn't help her. I had no choice Dahlia, my sister is all I have," His voice broke and I could see the guilt and sadness in his eyes.

“What did she asks if you, Andrew?" I questioned softly and he sighed.

“I didn't give the guards any sleeping medicine that night, Valerie took care of them. I swear all she told me was that she wanted you out of the pack but later… later I found out she actually arranged some men to kill you as soon as you got out of the pack," Andrew uttered and I gasped while everyone began to murmur.

“What?" I asked in disbelief.

“I swear I didn't want to do it but I had to save my sister but if I could go back in time, I would never have collided with that witch. I regret it everyday, Dahlia and I'm so happy to see that you're okay," He uttered and I shook my head frantically, trying not to believe.

“So what you said about Valerie and Tristan…"

“It was a lie. Valerie knew if you thought Tristan didn't love you anymore, you would leave. I'm so sorry, Dahlia," He murmured and I suddenly felt disgusted even though I could see where he was coming from but I trusted him the most, even more than Tristan.

“What? What the fuck are you talking about?" Tristan suddenly uttered as he was about to rush towards them but Kade immediately held him back.

“I'd suggest you drop your guns." Kade uttered as he turned to Tristan's guards while Tristan struggled against his hold.

“I can't do this," I muttered and was about to walk away but Axel held onto me.

“Is this the way you want to trample on your enemies? You have to get strong," He muttered and I frowned before slowly turning toward Sarah.

“What did you do?" I questioned softly and she began to cry again.

“Valerie gave me the poison and I didn't want to do it but she threatened me. I… I was the one who snuck the poison into the medicine you gave the Alpha," Everyone gasped and I bowed my head as tears rolled down my cheeks.

Why did the people I trusted always hurt me?

“I don't want to listen anymore, I want to leave," I muttered as I turned to Axel and he stared into my eyes without saying anything for a while before nodding.

“Very well but they have to face their punishments including your dear mate that punished the victim," He muttered.

“I didn't… I didn't know. I… Dahlia… I…" Tristan began as he stared at me with tears in his eyes but I turned away because I couldn't bear to see the remorse in his eyes.

“Well now you do." Axel walked towards Sarah and I stared at him with confusion written on my face then I let out a scream and he suddenly broke her neck.

“No!" I screamed and was about to rush towards him but Kade was immediately by my side as he tried to hold me down but I broke free of him and ran towards Andrew, standing in front of him.

“Don't! I'm begging you, please Axel don't!" I pleaded as tears streamed down my face but he just stared back at me emotionlessly like he could care less about my tears.

“Move Dahlia!" He uttered calmly and I shook my head frantically.

“Don't kill him, he's my friend!" I screamed with anger and sadness laced in my tone but it just seemed like I was talking to a brick wall.

“I deserve this, Dahlia. Don't be sad for me, I'm just glad you're okay. I know I'm in no position to ask this but take care of my sister please? She's innocent in this," He murmured while I listened while I cried silently.

I slowly turned to him and wrapped my arms tightly around him.

“I forgive you and I don't want to lose you, Andrew. If you leave me, I'll be alone," He chuckled softly.

“I have a feeling you're not going to be alone anymore, Dahlia," As soon as he said that, Kade yanked me away from Andrew and instantly, Axel ripped off his head while I cried loudly on Kade's shoulders.

“Kade," I called out his name softly and his arms tightened around me.

“I'm sorry Flower, there's nothing I can do." He murmured and I raised my head to stare at him.

“Let me go," I murmured and he stared at me for a while then let out a sigh.

“Are you sure you can take it?" He asked and I nodded before wiping away my tears with the back of my hand. As soon as he let go, I immediately turned to Axel and almost vomited from the sight of Andrew's dead body on the ground.

My legs and my whole body shook as I walked towards Axel but immediately stopped in my tracks when Tristan suddenly threw himself in front of Valerie.

“You…you can't kill her, I won't let you," He murmured and a frown appeared on my face asy heart sank.

“Well well well, did he jump in front of you like this when you were about to be killed, Dahlia?" Axel uttered as he turned to me but my eyes were on Tristan who had a complex look on his face.

“Don't put things in her head, I love Dahlia" Tristan yelled and Axel shrugged.

“I never said you didn't but deep down, you know what you truly feel," Axel uttered and my frown deepened as Tristan shook his head frantically.

“No, it has always been Dahlia. I…"

“She killed your father, Tristan. Can't you see that and yet you would protect her? You were ready to condemn me to death for the same reason. How…" The tears slipped down my face before I could stop it and it suddenly felt like my heart was about to explode.

“Dahlia…" I ran towards him before he could complete his sentence and slapped him across the face.

“You bastard!" I screamed in his face and a guilty look appeared on his face. He tried to grab my hand but I moved away before he could.

“Dahlia please let's talk this out," He begged as he tried reaching out for me again but I just punched his chest continuously as I screamed in his face.

No one could understand the amount of pain I was feeling at that moment. I just lost my best friend and now it seemed like the man I loved was never in love with me.

“Accept it Dahlia, did you really think anyone in their right senses would choose you over me?" Valerie suddenly said behind Tristan with a smirk on her face and at that moment I saw red.

I immediately lunged at her and we both fell to the ground. She tried fighting me off but before she could I made sure to slap her multiple times on the face.

Suddenly, warm arms were suddenly wrapped around my waist as I was pulled off her.

“There there little wolf, I'm proud of you but that's enough," Axel murmured in my head as I cried. My eyes darted towards Tristan and I could see he was trying his hardest not to run and help Valerie and that just made everything worse.

I turned around and buried my head in Axel's chest.

“Get me out of here, please," I murmured and he caressed my hair.

“Gladly. Kade, take her away and Valerie, I'm giving you 20 seconds headstart. If you can hide from me till sunset, you'll live but if you don't…" He trailed off and everyone knew what that meant.

Axel let go of me and as Kade took me in his arms, I could see Valerie running frantically as she tried to get away from Axel but it was useless. He wasn't the Alpha King for nothing.

“We can't let him kill her, Dahlia please…" Tristan suddenly uttered and I turned to him with a glare.

“Don't you ever utter my name." I murmured then walked away with Kade behind me.

Soon enough, we all heard Valerie's screams from the forest and the sound was so agonizing that I felt like I could feel her pain.

“Kade…" I called out his name as my knees gave out and I was about to fall down but he immediately caught me.

With one last tear, I closed my eyes and everything went blank…
